Chapter 370 Xi Meili's Pride

'It appears that I did the right thing by inviting him and his wives to a supper with us; this will secure a good connection with him.' The King thought, laughing inwardly as he realized this.
When she saw him smiling, Queen Matilda smiled from ear to ear, moving her face closer to his ear and whispering, "Didn't I tell you that befriending Yuan and his wives would be the best thing for us?"
"Well, you're correct. Thank you, I was able to prevent a major calamity." King Richard responded, smiling.
A few seconds later, a servant entered the royal garden and informed the king that the cook had finished cooking and they were now placing the dishes on the royal dining table.
After telling King Richard, the servant quickly departed the scene.
King Richard then turned to face Yuan and his wife and smiled, saying, "We've prepared a feast for you all, and it's ready."
"So let's go to the dining room and have this delicious feast, shall we?"
"Well, of course, Your Majesty. Please lead the way." Yuan quickly sprang up, his stomach grumbling simply hearing the word 'feast'.
Not only Yuan, but his women also rose from their chairs, particularly Xi Meili, whose eyes were filled with joy and expectancy.
"This way please…" Queen Matilda then smiled and led them to the dining room on behalf of her husband.
A few moments later, they arrived at the very spacious dining room, which included a massive dining table in the center and a row of comfortable seats.
There are many different types of dishes neatly put on the table, and despite the room being perfectly bright, candlelight is placed on the table to enhance the dining experience.
The dining area was stunning, with many rare and priceless items. Yuan, his wives, and Leah were all startled by how large the dining table was; if one person sat on one end and the other sat on the other, they wouldn't be able to hear one another.
"Well, please take whichever seat you like…" Queen Matilda spoke before taking her seat on her husband's left side, while the concubines took their places on the right.
"Just as my wife said, Please sit down, and let's enjoy the delicious feast together." King Richard smiled broadly as he spoke.
Yuan and his wife nodded and took their seats, particularly Xi Meili, who sat down with a very delighted expression on her face after seeing the variety of foods on the table.
Yuan, his wives, and Leah all sighed as they witnessed this. Meanwhile, the royal family laughed at Xi Meili's immature behavior.
"I didn't expect one of your wives to be so cute and childish..." She appears to be from the dragon warrior clan. Queen Matilda spoke with a slight smile on her face as she noticed Xi Meili's distinguishing traits.
However, Queen Matilda appears to be ignorant that she has spoken something inappropriate, which causes Yuan to facepalm as he anticipates what will happen next.
'Don't blame me for this, Queen Matilda. You have poked your finger in a dragon's ass now...' Yuan mumbled inwardly, a helpless smile on his lips.
The air around the dining hall suddenly becomes cold and frigid, and a strong pressure descends upon the entire royal palace, causing everyone to kneel on the ground.
Even the royal family was not immune to the invisible pressure that appeared out of nowhere; they were all gritting their teeth and clenching their hands fiercely to stay standing.
'W-What's with this invisible pressure!? It feels like a mountain has dropped on us!' King Richard had a terrified expression on his face as the unseen weight forced him and his family against the ground.
'This pressure… It's not something I've seen before...Even the most powerful magician in the empire won't be able to release this much pressure...!' Queen Matilda yelled within, and her face was quickly soaked in sweat.
"How can you think of me as the same as that garbage?! It is intolerable!"
"They may have dragon blood in their veins, but they cannot be called dragons!" Xi Meili yelled with a wicked glitter in her eyes, as an intense murderous intent rushed over the palace, making the royal family and everyone inside quiver in horror.
"They're nothing but a bunch of lowly lizards, so don't you dare compare me with them."
With those remarks, Xi Meili retrieved her aura and killing purpose, causing everyone in the palace to sigh with relief.
The royal family eventually recovered from their shock and glanced at Xi Meili with puzzled expressions on their faces, unable to fathom what had just occurred because it was too unexpected for them.
They are taken aback by Xi Meili's strength; they never imagined that this cute young girl would be so powerful that none of them could withstand the pressure she released on them.
A few seconds later, Yuan apologized to King Richard and his family for Xi Meili's disrespectful behavior, explaining that Xi Meili was very proud and would not allow such an insult.
"Although Queen Matilda did nothing wrong by speaking what's on her mind when she said that Xi Meili is from the dragon warrior tribe, it hurt her pride and you know the rest…" Yuan replied with an odd expression on his face as if he could tell them that Xi Meili was a dragon from an ancient lineage.
"No one was hurt, so it's fine." And, anyway, I should have avoided saying such things without Xi Meili's consent." Queen Matilda also apologized to Yuan and his wives.
'What was the pressure? I'm absolutely sure it wasn't magic, but what type of power was that?' Aurelia stared at Yuan and his wives, particularly Xi Meili, with a bewildered expression on her face, wondering inwardly about the enigmatic power Xi Meili wielded.
"Well, since everything has been cleared now, let's eat now, shall we?" King Richard spoke with a smile before beginning to eat.
Yuan and his women nodded, and they soon began eating.
Xi Meili forgot about her wrath and began cramming her face with food; she was like a golden dragon, devouring everything on the dining table.
Yuan and Emma both stuffed their faces with food. The royal chefs made exquisite meals, so they didn't hold back and began emptying the dishes one by one.
The royal family neglected to eat their food as they watched Yuan and his wife demolish one dish after another; they couldn't believe they had such a large appetite.
They eventually finished their lunch with the royal family and relaxed with them after the sumptuous feast.
They discussed numerous topics with the princes and princesses about their adventure, which attracted not only the princes and princesses but even King Richard and his wives.
Yuan jumped up from his seat, looked at his mother, and said, "It's about time we take our leave, isn't that right, Mom?"
"That's correct. It's already dark outside; we should leave now." Anna Grace nodded after peering outside, which was already pretty dark.
After saying their goodbyes to the royal family, Yuan, his wives, and Leah left the Royal Palace and went for the common realm.
