Chapter 327 Corrupted Monsters
"Everyone! They're coming, stand still and prepare yourself for the worst!" The A-rank hunter shouted as he stood solid, waiting for the monsters to approach.
In just a few seconds, the ferocious monsters arrived before the hunters with their ridiculous speed, the hunters immediately stood in a defensive stand so the monsters could break through the frontline.
"Everyone! Attack!"
The A-rank hunter roared and swung his longsword and instantly beheaded a large monster as tall as him.
"Hell Yeah! Let's slaughter them!"
"Let's kill them all!"
The other hunters and warriors alike roared with excitement, as they sprinted towards the monsters with their weapons raised.
The hunters and warriors clashed with the monsters, and the monsters also attacked them with their sharp claws and horns.
Clang! Clang! The metal colliding with something tough resounded throughout the battlefield along with the beastly roars of the ferocious monsters.
The hunters and the warriors managed to kill numerous ferocious monsters within the clash, however, many of them also got injured by the monsters as the monsters were very fierce and bloodthirsty, even if their heads were separated from their bodies they were still moving for some reason.
This shocked everyone greatly, they've never seen anything like this unless the monster has a very high level of regenerative ability, which instantly heals their wounds.
However, these monsters don't possess any regenerative ability nor their vitality is strong. So, how are those monsters able to move despite their heads being separated from their bodies?
Everyone looked at the scene with a horrifying look on their faces, seemingly in disbelief.
"W-What the hell with these monsters!? Hey, are they moving without their heads!?"
"T-Th-This is unbelievable... How the hell are we supposed to fight such monsters that don't die despite separating their heads from their bodies!?"
"T-These...these monsters are abominations...They're an abomination that shouldn't exist at all!"
"W-We're all doomed! We're all going to die!"
The low-level hunters lose their will to fight against such an abomination knowing that they have no way of winning their fight.
Even after severing their heads from their bodies, the monsters continue to move, as if they are undead creatures who will not die naturally. How are they meant to confront a monstrosity that refuses to die despite all attempts to kill it?
"All of you!" Snap out of it, or you'll imperil your own family!"
The A-rank hunter yelled as he saw the other hunters lose their desire to fight, as well as how terrible the savage beasts were, even though their heads had been severed.
"B-But...but the monsters don't die even when their heads are removed from their bodies..."How are we supposed to kill them?"
One of the hunters responded with a shaky voice, and so did the weapon in his grasp. Most of the low-ranking hunters and warriors had the same condition as this hunter, their bodies were trembling in fear.
'They're indeed still moving... are the monsters really unlikable even after separating their heads? Don't they have any weaknesses?' Russel wondered inwardly seeing the monster he killed a moment ago was still moving.
'They must have a weakness... I refuse to believe that day doesn't have any weaknesses. All we need to do is find their weakness and kill them, once and for all.' Russel pondered with a serious look on his face.
After pondering for a moment, he remembered something very important, 'Most undead-type monsters are very weak against Holy Magic and Spirit Magic... Are these monsters also weak against those two attributes?'
"Hey, Kira. Can you try your Holy magic on these abominations to determine if they perish when they come in contact with Holy attributes?" He addressed one of his companions, Kira, a female fourth circle mage with Holy and Fire attributes.
"Alright, Boss." Kira swiftly nodded and used Holy magic, pointing her wand at the still-moving headless corpses.
"Divine Blessing: Holy Blades!"
As soon as she chanted her spell, the tip of her magic wand let out a bright glow before an array of light blades appeared in the air radiating a bright holy aura from it.
Swish! Swish!
Those holy blades immediately rushed at the monsters and hit their bodies, the monsters were relatively slower after their heads were separated from their bodies so they couldn't dodge a single attack from Kira.
'Please work! Please work!' Kira had a serious expression on her face and prayed that her Holy magic would work on these abominations.
The whole area was covered in thick dust due to the intense power of her spell, and she was patiently waiting for the dust to settle down. And soon, the dust settles down and everyone gets the answers.
Unfortunately for them, the result wasn't positive at all and the monsters were still moving despite some of their body parts being entirely destroyed by the Holy spell.
All the mages looked at the scene with horror and disbelief, their bodies were trembling from fear, their hearts were pounding faster and faster, and they felt like they had no way of defending themselves against such an abomination.
"Even holy magic is ineffective against these monsters..."
"What kind of abomination are these monsters!" Kira whispered in bewilderment, her eyes wide with dread.
She couldn't believe that her spell didn't work against these monsters, this was the first time that her spell didn't work against undead-type monsters.
Plop! Her legs lost the power to stand, and she fell to her knees, a dark expression on her face as if she had lost the desire to resist such monsters.
The entire battlefield turned eerie and everyone turned silent for a moment, except for the fierce howling of the monsters everything was silent.
'Damn it! At this rate we'll lose this battle, why are they still haven't come out from their carriage?' Russel looked towards Yuan's carriage with a frustrated look on his face, hoping that Yuan and his wives would come out from the carriage and join them in battle.
He couldn't help but wonder what Yuan and his wife were doing inside their carriage as fierce creatures surrounded them from all sides, most importantly, the monsters were extremely terrible and refused to die despite numerous attempts to kill them.
Inside the carriage, Anna Grace looked at her son with a concerned look on her face, and asked, "So, darling, are we going to step in now? The monsters seem to be very unusual, and more than five hunters and warriors have already died from those monster's attacks."
Before Yuan could reply to his mother, Nora suddenly spoke to him, [Host, those creatures seem to be corrupted by the chaotic mana of this world that was born from immense hatred.]
"Corrupted creatures!?" Yuan was astonished to hear it, this was the first time he had encountered corrupt monsters. "It will be a pain in the ass to deal with them since they aren't dying even after their head is separated from their neck."
"That's right, host. They won't die unless their heart is completely destroyed.] Nora said.
"Is that so? I'll keep this in mind." Yuan exclaimed and stood up from his sitting posture and looked at his wives and Leah.
"Everyone, it's about time we join the battle. Let's go and slaughter those corrupted monsters with a swoop." Yuan said with a wide smile on his face and exited the carriage.
Let's go. I can't wait to make the soil scarlet with their blood." Lily remarked with a big psychopathic grin on her lips, forcing Leah to tremble in terror simply staring at Lily's venomous smile.
"I'll make sure that none of the monsters are left alive, I'll kill them all." Julie smiled ominously as she retrieved her sword from the spatial ring she had received from Yuan.
After that, they also exited from the carriage and followed Yuan towards the frontline.
In just a minute, Yuan and his wives arrived at the frontline and saw that the hunters and warriors were being pushed back by the monsters.
Although the mages are providing support from behind, most of their magic is ineffective against the monsters and they're not able to seriously wound the monsters or make their movements slower.
"So, this is the current scenario on the battlefield, as I observe... The corrupted creatures are too powerful for these mortals to handle; they're simply too feeble." Yuan examined the battleground before him, and it appeared that three more humans had died defending against the corrupted monsters.
"So this is how corrupted creatures operate, right? They are, certainly, violent and bloodthirsty." Anna whispered in a hushed voice, astounded at the corrupted monsters' vicious, malicious auras.
Meanwhile, Russel suddenly noticed the arrival of Yuan and his wives on the battlefield and let out a long sigh of relief, as though he had already seen the future outcome of the battle and knew exactly what would happen in a moment.
T-They... They've finally arrived, albeit late. Finally, we have a solid hope of winning this awful struggle; with their might, it's not just a dream, but a real possibility.' Russel pondered as he gazed at Yuan with an optimistic expression as if a big burden had been removed from his shoulders.
"Hey, look! The beautiful ladies came to join the battle with us!" Suddenly a shout from a random person resounded throughout the whole battlefield.
"Indeed. They've arrived, and even gorgeous women like them aren't afraid to face those horrible beasts now."
"And yet, as men, we are afraid of death? It's a disgrace for us men; let's go slay those awful creatures!"
"Yeah, if we run away now we won't be able to call ourselves a man anymore!"
"For the honor of us men let's fight these damn monsters."
Seeing the gorgeous females enter the battle, everyone who had lost the resolve to fight the monsters forgot about their fear and joined in.
Yuan sneered at the monsters before retrieving his weapon from his system storage, and a majestic sword as tall as him emerged in his grasp out of thin air, frightening the crowd.
Yuan then let out a devilish smirk on his face, and murmured, "Let the slaughter begin..."
