Chapter 299 Destroying The forbidden Spell
"T-Th-This is it, everyone... We're all going to die...!" An elderly person mumbled in a dazed voice, looking at an enormous blue-colored lightning dragon in the sky that was glaring at them with fierce graze.
"H-How could the city Lord put our lives at risk like this? This is... unacceptable!" Another person, a young man in his early twenties spoke in dissatisfaction as he clenched his fists tightly.
"We're not meant to die like this...what sin did we commit to receive such punishment?" A beautiful woman in her early thirties, spoke in a sorrowful voice as she hugged her two children, a boy and a girl.
"Mom? Are we going to die?" The girl inquired as she tightly clutched her mother and gazed at her with teary eyes.
The woman stared at her daughter intensely, saying nothing but closely hugging her small body and starting crying.
The entire city was in great chaos, people were running around to save themselves from this impending doom, while some people talked to their family members one last time before they all died.
While some youngsters express their love for their crushes, since they are going to die already they don't want to die before expressing their feelings for one another, or their souls may wander around without finding peace.
Since they're going to die very soon, the girls immediately accept the love confession of the boys without thinking twice and share a passionate kiss with their lovers for the following moment.
It was truly a heartwarming moment for anyone who saw this scene.
Yuan's wives looked at the scene with warm smiles on their faces, seeing the boys muster the courage to confess their dream girl.

"*Cough* I'm fine, I'm fine, nothing can happen to me. It's just a small side-effect of using forbidden spells." Count George wiped the blood from his mouth and said.
However, he could feel that his life force was constantly becoming weak, as a father he didn't want to make his son worry, so he didn't tell his son about it.
'It doesn't look fine at all... Father must be hiding something from me.' Henrik thought.
"Roar!!!!!" Suddenly the lightning dragon let out a heaven-shattering roar that caused many people's eardrums to explode because of the terrifying sound.
People fell onto their ground covering their bleeding ears, as the sound of that roar destroyed their eardrums.
Not only that, the roar was so loud that it even made the buildings collapse from the terrifying shockwave.
"This spell is indeed strong. Although the dragon is made out of mana, still its roar is so powerful that it destroys the building with it." Yuan was surprised by the power of the dragon's roar, since it can destroy buildings just with its roar it must have the power to seriously injure him as well.
Even though he was a peak spirit master level cultivator, he needed to be very careful handling such attacks with powerful destructive power or might get seriously injured.

"I see..." Anna Grace looked at her son in silence for a moment, and said, "There's no other way to save the citizens' lives from this forbidden spell, even if it destroys some of the buildings, it's worth sacrificing the buildings since people's lives are more valuable."
"Count George is truly as vicious as the rumors say, he didn't even think twice before putting his own citizens' lives at risk... What a twisted person." Lily said in an irritating voice, as she shot a cold glance at Count George and his son.
"You don't need to say anything, Big Sis Lily. I'll make sure he pays for putting his own citizens' lives at risk just to save his pride." Yuan then looked at the lightning dragon circling in the sky roaring at the people on the ground, sending lightning strikes at the people.
"But first, I need to destroy this thing or it will continue to damage this city."
Yuan then tightened his grip on his sword and raised his sword towards the heavens as though he wanted to split the heavens with a single strike.
"Hahaha, It's useless, Yuan! You can't stop that attack. It's impossible to stop! You're just wasting your effort...*Cough* *Cough*" Count George laughed at Yuan, seeing him trying to destroy his forbidden spell which is impossible to stop, and he had never heard about anyone successfully stopping a forbidden spell.
After all, it's called a 'forbidden spell' for a reason.
"Then you really don't know about me..." Yuan's body suddenly exploded with immense spiritual energy and a heavenly aura that sent a chill on everyone's spine, and the 'Empyreal Oblivion' in his grasp gushed with a golden light that was so bright and thick that the blade itself of the sword was no longer visible...
It was almost as though it's turned into a pillar of light, the light was very warm and gentle yet extremely dangerous at the same time.
'W-Wh-What the hell with that sword in his hand? Why is it glowing in brilliant light like this? Is that a powerful artifact? How come I can't sense any magic from it? Strange...' Count George could barely keep his eyes open, and his eyes were fixed on the glowing sword in Yuan's hand.
'What the hell with that sword!? Why is it glowing like that!?' Looking at the glowing sword, Henrik screamed inwardly in frustration.
"The lightning dragon will descend now, I'm activating our defensive artifact." Count George mumbled in a low voice before taking out a small circular-shaped golden disk with many intricate designs, and he channeled a little bit of mana to activate the artifact.
The next second, the father and son were surrounded by a protective barrier that was strong enough to withstand the forbidden spell easily.
'So this is the defensive artifact Father mentioned to me earlier, it's very strong. No wonder father is so proud of this artifact.' Henrik thought.
"Roar!!" The lightning dragon in the sky let out a heaven-shattering roar before descending towards the ground at an incredibly fast speed, his gaze was fixed on Yuan feeling the threatening aura emitted by the sword.
After raising the sword towards the approaching lightning dragon, Yuan swung it vertically as though he wanted to sever the heavens into two parts.
"Empyreal Severing Sword Strike!"
A Golden beam of light shot out from the sword and rushed at the Lightning Dragon, and if one took a closer look at the beam of light, then one would able to see a majestic phantom of a golden dragon rushing at the Lightning Dragon with its mouth wide open, as though the golden dragon wanted to swallow the lightning dragon.
The lightning dragon watched the beam of light approaching it and slightly trembled as though it had its own consciousness and was feeling fear towards the beam of golden light.
It wanted to dodge the attack, but for some reason, it was unable to move aside as though something was preventing it from dodging the attack. And when he turned around, he saw Xi Meili had a wide grin on her face.
"Roar!"
When the golden beam of light reached the lightning dragon, it consumed the lightning dragon's figure, and the powerful mana it was emitting gradually started to disappear, in just a blink of an eye, the lightning dragon was completely swallowed by the golden beam of light.
However, the golden beam of light didn't stop there even after erasing the lightning dragon and continued to fly upwards.
