Chapter 251 Back at the Hunter Association
"Now that I think about it, this young man has exceptionally beautiful women by his side... Each of them looked like a goddess with their noble aura and otherworldly beauty," the soldier thought, finally noticing the striking appearance of Yuan's wives. He was baffled by their otherworldly beauty and noble aura.
'How come I never noticed them sooner? Perhaps I was caught off-guard upon seeing the severed head of Jabez. That must be it,' the soldier thought inwardly.
"Ahem... So, how much is the bounty reward for Jabez's head?" Yuan spoke, realizing the soldier's distraction and not wanting his wives to be stared at.
"Uh, let me take a look into the details," the soldier said, snapping out of his trance. He quickly took out a record book and found Jabez's bounty.
"Here, the bounty for Jabez's head is set at 1000 gold coins in total." The soldier showed the record to Yuan and his wives.
"A thousand gold coins, huh. It's quite a lot, indeed," Yuan mumbled. He then retrieved all the heads of the bandits from the system storage.
"Can you also check the value of each of these heads here?" Yuan asked, surprising the soldier with the sudden appearance of numerous severed heads.
'How did he do it?! How did he take out so many severed heads from out of thin air? More than 20... all of them bandits... who is this young man?!' the soldier wondered inwardly.
Yuan's wives couldn't help but chuckle at the soldier's reaction.
"T-They're all the subordinates of Jabez. How did you manage to kill all of them, sir?" the soldier recognized each of the bandits' faces and confirmed their identities from the record book.
"They're known for their wild nature and cruel behavior towards their targets. We've tried numerous times to locate their base to get rid of all of them at once, but sadly our attempts turned out to be unsuccessful," the soldier explained.
"We found them destroying a small village and capturing children and young women to sell them as slaves," Yuan paused, his tone turning cold. "I wanted to torture them before killing them like chickens. But unfortunately, we were in a hurry at that moment and didn't have the time to do so. They're lucky they got an easy death after committing numerous heinous crimes."
Anna Grace and the others could only shake their heads after hearing Yuan's words.
'Killing an entire group of notorious bandits like they're chickens?! This guy is really dangerous. Thank goodness I controlled myself from staring at his women or he would have been torturing me right now,' the soldier thought inwardly.
"P-Please give me a moment to calculate the exact amount; it will only take a few moments," the soldier said to Yuan with a respectful voice, not wanting to accidentally anger an ally like Yuan who had done such a good thing by eradicating an entire group of bandits.
"Sure."
It took the soldier a good few moments to check the bounty of each bandit, calculate the exact total amount, and the amount came out to be quite large.
"Sir, the total amount is 4650 gold coins. Four of the bandits were the right-hand men of the leader, Jabez, and each of their bounty is 500 gold coins. Ten of them are the loyal subordinates of Jabez, and each of their bounty is set at 150 gold coins. The rest are only low-ranking bandits, and their bounty is only 10 gold coins each," the soldier quickly informed him after calculating the amount thoroughly according to the bounty on the record book.
"Here's the amount, sir. Please check if the amount is correct or not." The soldier took out a pouch filled with gold coins from under the reception desk and handed it to Yuan.
Yuan received the pouch and quickly used his divine sense to see if there was a coin missing from the amount.
"There's no problem with the amount; it's exactly as you've stated." The pouch suddenly disappeared into thin air as Yuan stored it within his system storage, causing the soldier to be surprised once again.
After that, Anna Grace looked at her son and with her melodious voice, she said, "Darling, since our business here is finished, let's head to the Hunter Association and register Rose, Julie, and Ava as hunters. They have to give a small exam before getting their licenses, so we should hurry."
"Naturally, let's get going then." Yuan nodded and walked out of the soldiers' camp building; his wives followed his suit and walked out of the building with him.
As they walked through the bustling streets of the city, Yuan held hands with his mother and Xi Meili, attracting a lot of unwanted attention from pedestrians and people standing at the side of the road.
Some males showed jealousy towards Yuan as he walked surrounded by beauties, especially holding hands with two top beauties, which added fuel to the fire. On the other hand, some females found Yuan to be exceptionally handsome, and they were jealous of Yuan's wives' beauty as they were too beautiful for them to compare.
However, Yuan and his wives ignored all those stares and continued to walk. Although they didn't like being stared at by strangers, much less being gossiped about, they couldn't do anything to stop people from talking.
Moreover, they had more important things to do than argue with strangers for being stared at and gossiped about.
After some time, they arrived in front of the Hunter Association building.
"Let's go inside and register Rose, Julie, and Ava," Yuan said to his wives and entered.
Other hunters, noticing that the young man who seriously injured Joe and made him unconscious on the spot was back at the association along with his wives, immediately averted their gaze from him.
They feared that the young man might mistake them for staring at his wives, and he would treat them the same way he treated Joe, who still hadn't woken up.
Yuan and his wives ignored them and walked straight up to the reception desk. The receptionist, Elle, immediately noticed their arrival, and the whole reception hall turned quiet all of a sudden.
"Oh, isn't it Mr. Yuan and Mrs. Yuan? What brings you to the Hunter Association today? Are you looking for a mission with high pay?" Elle greeted them with a slight playful voice, wondering about their intentions for coming to the hunter association.
"Well, three of my wives don't have hunter licenses with them. So, I want them to register as hunters today," Yuan replied to Elle with a smile on his face, causing Elle's cheeks to turn slightly rosy.
"Is that so?" Elle exclaimed, then she glanced at his other wives. "What about your other wives? Don't you want to register them as hunters as well?"
"Hahah, they already have hunter's licenses with them, and their hunter ranks are the same as mine."
"I see... In that case, please fill out these three forms, and once you finish, return them to me." Elle handed him three forms for his three wives.
After receiving the forms from Elle, they looked for an empty table. Spotting an empty table in the corner, they went there to sit and fill out the forms.
A moment later, Yuan returned to the reception desk after filling out the forms and handed them to Elle.
"Everything looks good; I don't see any problems," Elle said after examining the forms. She began filling out the other necessary forms, making sure everything was ready for the hunter examination.
Once she finished her job, she looked at Yuan and said, "The next procedure is a small combat test, where we will determine if they can become hunters and fight against monsters. Although I know your wives are pretty strong, it's the rule of the association, and everyone must go through the test to get their licenses."
"There's no problem; we're fine with the test. It's just a small test after all," Rose spoke to Elle in an understanding manner. She clearly knows how dangerous monsters could be, and if one doesn't know how to fight or defend against monsters, they'll only meet a gruesome end.
"In that case, please follow me to the testing ground at the backside of the building. There we will test your abilities." Elle then rose from her seat and told them to follow her.
"Very well," Yuan nodded.
After that, receptionist Elle led Yuan and his wives towards the testing ground at the backside of the association building.
After a minute of walking, they arrived at the testing ground where Rose, Julie, and Ava would go through a small test to obtain their hunter licenses.
The testing ground was quite spacious, with many targets arranged at a distance. Behind those targets for the mages, there were moving targets to check the accuracy of a mage. If a mage had poor accuracy with their spells, it would harm their party members.
"Oh, are these the new recruits? They look quite weak, and I can't sense any mana from any of them." .
