Chapter 36 What a Silly Smile

Mr. Jiang grabbed Han Yun’s collar with one hand and threw her out a few meters away.

“Do you want to die, huh? Do you take me lightly just because I didn’t show you my power? You want to untie him? Do you really think you can save him from me? It’s nothing but wishful thinking... ”

“Han Yun, are you okay? Just leave me here. Run...” Lan Xingbo roared sharply with red eyes.

Mr. Jiang was so angry that he turned around and clenched his fists, ready to rain punches on Lan Xingbo.

Knowing that something terrible was about to happen, Lan Xiao immediately took out a black card and stood in front of Lan Xingbo.

“Mr. Jiang, please keep this black card first. Just give me half a day. I will get the money to pay you back...”

Mr. Jiang’s huge fist suddenly froze in midair, creating a cold wind gust.

Lan Xiao, who was only up to his shoulder in height, was now under his fist as he eyed her suspiciously.

“Mr. Jiang, if you still don’t believe me, I’ll give you my ID card, all my bank cards, and this black card with unlimited credit.”

She then spread various cards on the table at a very fast speed.

She held her ID card closer to her face and said, “This is my ID card. It’s absolutely not a fake.”

Mr. Jiang glanced at the girl on the ID card, smiling and revealing two small dimples on both cheeks. Her smile looked very silly, which was in line with her temperament.

Somehow, his anger subsided.

All his men were stunned.

After working for Mr. Jiang for so long, it was their first time to meet a girl who was not afraid to die. It was also their first time to see how his vexation dissipated in an instant. Usually, his temper was like a volcanic eruption.

As they watched the three people leaving safe and sound, they could only scratch their heads in depression.

For the first time, they had witnessed such a scene.

They had been following Mr. Jiang for so many years. And this was the first time that he let someone leave safely.

“Mr. Jiang, is this really a right thing to do? What if they run away from us? Fifty million is not a small amount of money.”

Mr. Jiang was leaning against his chair and holding Lan Xiao’s ID card with his slender fingers. He was looking at it carefully and obviously didn’t hear what the man said.

Seeing the girl’s bright smile on the picture, he sneered, “What a silly smile!”

He then kicked one of his men’s butt.

“Go, follow them, and see what they are going to do. Report to me at any time.”

The man, who almost fell down, scratched his head and ran out of the room, not daring to ask any more questions.

Mr. Jiang tossed the ID card on the table and said, “I’d like to see how a little girl like you can pay back such an astronomical amount of money... It seems that you are overestimating yourself.”

Lan Xingbo wasn’t seriously injured. At most, he received a few punches in the face, and there were traces of blood oozing from the corners of his nose and mouth.

As soon as the three of them turned at a corner and had run far enough, he mocked Lan Xiao,

“Are you an idiot? What do you think you are doing here? Whatever happens to me, it’s none of your business, let alone the Lan family’s.

Why don’t you just think that I don’t exist? Or that I’m already dead? Get out of here right now. Go home. If that old man asks about my whereabouts, just tell him you don’t know.

In case I die on the street one day, and you still consider me as your brother, just collect my body and have it cremated. Then scatter my ashes in the sea. I must be responsible for everything that I’ve done. I don’t need anyone to take responsibility for me.” Lan Xingbo then turned around and walked back.
