Chapter 3617 Waiting

"It had been eight days," I complained to Rynter sitting in front of me. To that, he smiled and took a sip of his drink.

"The hardest part of such missions isn't the fighting, but the waiting," he said, enjoying my impatience.

It is not impatience killing me, but the inability to practice my method.

Of the two great methods, I am only practicing the Talaras's constitution, but not the Dance of Ukasanovor. Talaras constitution could be disturbed with minor backlash, but the backlash of the dance of ukasanovor would kill me.

I can't take the risk of that happening.

Soon, we finished our lunch, and he went to his job. It is a protection job; he has to protect a spoiled child of the Sovereign while he is away.

Thankfully, my job is much simpler.

I went to the alchemist guild and submitted work I had crafted before taking another order and returning to the inn.

I used 10% of my mind's power in alchemy and another 5% on snooping through the formations while the rest worked on my inheritance and studying.

I had even spread the seed to the members of the organization and received constant feed of data and I have to say, this organization is good.

There is a shady party, and there is a good one.

They are hiding the shadiness under the guise of good and doing a wonderful job. No wonder they were able to remain hiding for so long.

I have seen some of the things these people are doing, and I really wish I could barge and kill those bastards, but I controlled myself.

In the core, I worked, and now I am working on something different.

It is a design of the breakthrough formation I am working on; since breaking through, I have only reforged it once, and that was only a minor change.

This change is going to be big.

I have all the resources I need and most importantly. I have a massive number of fusion energies. Which is the most important ingredient to craft the breakthrough formation I want.

It will help me tremendously in my breakthrough. If I have been able to materialize the vision.

Currently, I am not finished with design, much less forging, but I have time. I am still a High Sovereign, there is Peak-Stage to reach and then its limit before I could make a breakthrough into the Earth-Sovereign.

I am working on it steadily; I don't want it to become a hurried job.

A day passed and after I woke up and had lunch, I once again entered my core, and this time, I was working on the formation.

It is an ancient rune formation that I had used in the last upgrade. Now I am trying to upgrade it further.

It is easier said than done.

I have even changed the place; now, I am outside the library. Near my old place of study near the lake; staring at the wonderful world that my core had become.

"I need monsters," I said.

My core had become powerful enough to have to sustain the monsters. I already have slimes, but I want more.

It is not like I am not searching for them, but it is difficult to find the ones I need. I need monsters that could be useful to me and also help my core.

It might not seem like it, but there are monsters like that. I only need to find them. Which is the real task.

I shook my head and focused on the formation. It is one of the most important formations; I used them in thousands of places.

So, I must upgrade the formation.

If I did it, it would also help me with another formation, which shares many similarities with it.

An hour passed and then another, as I scribbled the notes on my desk, until finally. I had made a breakthrough; it was a small one, but it had made me extremely happy.

Seeing, I didn't think I would make any progress with it, but I made a breakthrough with inspiration. That is several days of work.

My hand started to move as fast as my thoughts and it continued for more than an hour, with a lot of scribbling and scratching, before finally, I was able to refine that small breakthrough.

"It is good," I said and continued to work on it for three more hours before I stopped for a small break.

I laid back on the chair and looked at the surrounding plants. Nearly every surface is filled with them, with nearly each plant, in their invisible dome, which provides them with the environment they need.

Thanks to the growth energy and optimal environment they are in; they are growing greatly.

There is not a single plant, that is suffering from diseases or any abnormality.

My clone will work on fixing that as soon as they see it. If it couldn't be fixed, then they would remove the plant.

These plants have earned me a lot, and I have sold less than 5% of what they have produced me. The rest I have kept for my usage.

I need a lot of them. For my practice, for alchemy and other experiments. I am a guzzler of massive resources. If people were to know the sheer number of resources I consume, they would be shocked.

I have no interest in telling them.

I looked for a few more minutes before going back to the library and started studying the ancient runes; I had yet to finish the homework that the teacher had given me.

Hun!

I was in the midst of studying when suddenly my eyes flew open and my senses spread.

A shockwave came out from the late, not a normal shockwave, but the one of the Sky Sovereigns. It is weakened by the formations in the lake, but it still spreads into the city, destroying many homes.

Thankfully, nobody seemed to have been killed; all the homes at the edge of the lake belonged to powerful.

They have absorbed the blow enough that whatever entered inside the city was more suppressive in nature, which brought people to their knees, rather than killing them.

This sudden shockwave seemed to have activated the city's defenses, especially those around the lake; they have formed powerful domes covering the city, in a couple of layers.

I thought for a moment before a thin string of faint soul sense came out of me and spread and soon; it touched the person I wanted.

"Do you sense that?" I asked. 'Yes,' a reply came after a moment of silence.

"Do you recognize the other Sky Sovereign?" I asked. 'No,' he answered.

There are two Sky Sovereign energies; one aura is matched to the one description of the enemy Sky Sovereign we have received. The other is unknown. I have performed a match with all the samples I have, but it came out negative.

"What should we do?" I couldn't help but ask, despite knowing, what I had to do.

'Wait. We should not move until we receive the orders,' he replied, and at that exact moment, another shockwave came from the island.

More powerful than the last.
