Chapter 389: Number One Enemy

Plunging my spear through Agnar's neck, I twisted my blade, studying the look of disbelief that rang through his eyes. Enjoying the glow of his life fade, Agnar's body fell limp before slipping off my spear.

Sending a lustful glance towards everyone around, I resisted the urge to slaughter everyone as blood began to trickle from my nostrils. Immediately putting a stop to crimson winds and War of Kings, a cold sweat overcame my body.

Trembling, I covered my mouth as blood gushed from my lips, staining my hands and the pavement. "Fuck, this never happened before. Guess using both Artes were a little too much on my body." I muttered softly, wiping my lips clean.

Rushing towards me, Lilith smiled from ear to ear. Wrapping her arms around me, I felt a warm aura permeate my body. Closing my eyes, I saw an amethyst mist begin to trace the inside of my body. Melding my injured tissue, Lilith spoke, "Let's go, that man appeared to be a Black Cape."

"He did?" I asked, sending a glance towards the man I had just killed.

"Yep, but we have another problem. You killed someone in a land where everyone is supposed to make an oath to the heavens." Lilith lightly explained, without worry staring at the masses staring back with greed.

"Come on! Are they serious?" I could not ask, unable to believe my eyes.

"Give us the relic that allows you to disobey the heavens!" The voice of an onlooker I could not be bothered to learn his name shouted.

"Welcome to Alos. Where everyone is always looking to screw someone over. All they do here is assume."

Wiping the sweat from my brow, I surveyed the encirclement around us. Sending Lilith a dark look, I spoke, "Why didn't you stop me?"

"Shits and giggles, where is the fun in that?" She replied with a cheeky grin.

Son of a bitch!

Glaring daggers at the smile that wished to be punished, I snorted, shooting my dark gaze to those around me.

"Attack, and I assure you everyone here will die!" I spoke in a sinister voice, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

Stepping out, a man with blood-red robes gave a crooked smile, "Hand it over, and I Va'an shall allow you to keep your life and that woman. You are injured and surrounded!"

Narrowing my gaze upon the thousands of eyes upon me, Lilith and I laughed as a terrifying pressure began to press onto the bones of those around us. Losing his smile Va'an, along with everyone around us, began to sweat.

"Bring it," I stated with a terrifying grin.

Not waiting for him to agree or not, Lilith swung at empty space in the direction of Va'an. Shocked by her movement, my eyes suddenly opened wide as a head flew high in the air.

"Rending Slash," Lilith called out when all of a sudden, her blade became like a dance—taking the life of all that fell in the path of her spiral attack.

Not willing to be outdone, I licked my lips at the feast I was about to experience. Rearing off the ground, both Crimson Wings and War of Kings rippled off my body. Leaping into the air, I stepped on-air, rocketing like a crazed demon to my prey.

KABOOM!!!!!!

Crashing towards the ground, a wave of deadly spikes of darkness stormed the terrain tearing lives away like they were nothing. Showering the ground with gore, my gaze and heart grew profound as I spoke.

"Arcane Gale!"

Forming an invisible domain filled with spear intent, my blade became like that of the reapers severing life. Moving so fast the Spear of Noctem could not even be seeing I stood still upon a pool of death with a chilling grin.

"Do not retreat!"

"The Holy Swords will avenge their brothers."

"The Blood Cores will never falter."

"Kill him!"

"KIll"

"KIll"

"KIll"

Listening to the massive mayhem all related to Lilith and me, our laughter resounded, sending everyone in a state of anger. Feeling their resentment building and building, I could not help but feel my dantian beginning to shiver at the feast it was having.

Souls were magical, but the resentment and hatred I was absorbing from the battlefield due to my Devil's Hearts Dao was intoxicating.

"Arsene," Lilith muttered with a lusted grin as she turned to me with a sweaty brow.

Holding her stare, Lilith suddenly attacked me. Not surprised in the least, I raised my spear, watching her spiral attack clash against my spear. Skidding back a few meters, she chuckled.

"When was the last time we trained?" She asked as her aura began to spike, parting the clouds around us.

Cracking my neck, a flame that made the heavens seem imperfect began to shimmer around me, destroying all light within the area.

"Far too long," I replied, releasing shadow flames from all around me. "But I think I lost back then."

"The hell is going on?" The onlookers shouted, staring at the strange chemistry between Lilith and myself.

"Are they going to fight each other?"

Frowning for a bit, Lilith suddenly grew solemn, turning to the mountains trail. Watching a strange elderly man in elegant robes that stretched over his body like a dress, Lilith lowered her blade but did not sheath it.

It's him again. Now what?

Lowering my blade like Lilith, the strange man frowned, eying the battlefield with his sharp eyes that glimmered with a powerful divinity.

"Lord Virsair," a middle-aged man carrying the crest of the holy swords addressed on one knee.

"Virsair? As in the Dragonkin half-blood?" Lilith said without fear stepping to my side.

Stroking his long groomed beard, Virsair shot Lilith a gloomy look, "Quite familiar girl. And who might you be?"

Hanging a smile on her lips, Lilith smirked, "I'll tell you for a price."

Scuffing, Virsair sneered, "You think you are in a position as to bargain with me? You a mere World God?"

"Than attack me Pill Master, Virsair. Just know you are playing with fire."

"The same with you, girl. You and that boy toy of yours just made yourself public enemy number one within the Swords Coast. Do you know who all you have killed?"

"Insects, "I stated with a cold, calculating grimace. "But that matter not does it. Why appear now?"

"I take it you're still recovering from your earlier mishap," added Lilith, with a chilling grin.

Allowing him to understand our underlying meaning, Lilith and I dismissed our weapons, stepping towards the elderly man pale as a ghost.

"So? Do you care to hear my wife out?"
