The group quickly gathered their belongings and made their way downstairs, where the girls were already waiting.
The inn's common room was now more lively, with travelers having their meals and engaging in conversations.
"I didn't think this village was popular" Max muttered.
Lynx noticed that the girl behind the counter was still there, busy with her book. She seemed engrossed in her reading, her brow furrowed in concentration. He couldn't help but wonder about her.
"Let's not disturb her," Alex whispered in Lynx's ears as he saw her staring.
"I wasn't going to disturb her," Lynx said almost immediately.
"But she's really cute" Gabriel muttered and immediately he could feel Rebecca's gaze on him.
"I'm not interested in her, j just said she's cute" Gabriel quickly confesses.
Outside, the carriage was ready, and the rider was already in his seat. He greeted them with a nod, and they climbed aboard, taking their seats.
The rider moved slowly till they were out of the village and soon they were on their way to Zenith City.
Since they had reached this village, it wasn't going to be a long journey, Zenith city was just a few hours away.
"I'm still sleepy, I'm going to take a nap," Lynx said as he laid on Gabriel's legs.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
"This carriage is too cramped, don't worry I won't touch your winnie" Lynx spoke and the rest of them laughed.
"That's it, stand up" Gabriel quickly pushed Lynx away from his legs.
"We'll reach zenith city before long, then you can rest as long as you want, see, I can already see the mountains" the rider spoke and the rest of them looked.
Alex stared at the mountains and remembered the first time he met Melissa when she was still huntress in Nova Online, but the mountains weren't covered in snow like the first one.
"There are beasts around the mountains right?" Gabriel asked the rider.
"I don't think they are going to be trouble for us, we can outrun them, there's a traveling path in the mountains so we'll use there" the rider spoke.
"Then I'll be able to get some experience picking off weak ones right, I wonder the types of beasts that stay around mountains" Lynx muttered.
"If there are caves, I'm sure there are scorpions inside" Alex spoke.
"Have you faced scorpions before?" Max asked Alex.
"I just avoided them, while Melissa killed one of them, remember I told you I got something from the rank 5 player," Alex said.
"Ohh, I remember so it's then"
"I'm going to increase our speed so hold on tight" the rider spoke as they arrived at the mountain.
The horses surged forward, and the landscape transformed rapidly as the group found themselves approaching the base of the mountains.
The air grew cooler, and the scent of trees that grew along the mountains filled their noses. The looming peaks were a sight to behold, and Alex couldn't help but admire the sheer majesty of this world.
As they rode deeper into the mountainous terrain, the path slowly became narrower but they hadn't encountered a single beast or seen any.
The carriage rode for some seconds before Alex spotted a drawing on one of the sides of the mountain, it looked like a magic circle.
"Is that supposed to be on a mountain?" Alex asked as he pointed at the magic circle.
"I don't think I've ever seen it before, we should keep moving, I don't like things like this" the rider spoke.
"Stop... stop!!" Alex shouted and the rider halted immediately.
"Is something wrong?" they all asked.
"Rebecca, do you sense anything, something is definitely wrong" Alex spoke.
"I don't sense anyone around us, nothing," Rebecca said.
"Guys, something is definitely wrong, look at the magic circle, it's turned part of the mountain to ice" Melissa spoke and the rest of them turned around to see.
The spot where the magic circle was had been completely turned to ice along the grounds around it.
"I must say, you have extremely polished Instincts to notice us?" a female voice spoke as two humans emerged from the ground with a kind of black mana covering them.
"That's why I noticed you guys, shadow potion right?" Alex muttered.
"Huh! Aren't you coming from the bronze continent, how did you know about shadow potion and how were you able to sense it" the female spoke.
"We can't let them leave now, can we sister" the boy close to her spoke.
"What are you guys talking about, what is a shadow potion?" the rider asked turning towards Alex and the girl.
"Are you just a pawn using the shadow potion or are you an important part?" Alex asked as he brought out both of his daggers, the rest of them immediately brought out their weapons.
"I hope you guys last a bit longer, it's been long I was this angry!" the girl shouted as she placed her hands.
>BAM!!<
Without wasting a second Lynx shot the girl before she could cast her spell, but the bullet didn't reach her as a shadow barrier stopped the bullet.
"If you think that's all you need to take us down then you are mistaking" the bit spoke as both of them retreated.
"Are they running away?" Alex asked.
"The barrier just now I think it belongs to the boy" Gabriel spoke.
"Then what did the girl do, I can't believe she just placed her hands on the ground and ran away," Max said.
"Guys, I think we have a problem" Rebecca spoke.

From the magic circle on the barrier, ice golems began to emerge from the parts covered in ice.
