Chapter 942 Passing The Torch
It was hard for the kids to digest the gravity of their father's words.
This was too sudden for them, they were not mentally prepared to take up the challenge of living in a world where he was not physically present, yet it was about to become a reality.
Rudra was not worried about the kids, he knew he had raised them well and he knew that even if he was not around, with the fail-safes he had put in place, the kids and the family were bound to be taken care of.
Oftentimes when a man headed out to war, they were bound to never return and even if the children were not ready to become the breadmakers, if the man of the house fell in battle they had to suck it up and become more mature.
Here, the kids were already mature, they were tier6 and had the strength and skills to make a name for themselves in the world, hence Rudra was not worried about leaving them behind.
If there was something he did regret a little, it was leaving behind Ruby and Naomi as for them Rudra was everything.
They had already lived through a period where they thought Rudra had died after his fight with Thor. During that time they had made a mission out of raising the kids successfully and made them their whole world.
Fortunately, Rudra returned alive and the family was able to live together for many happy years, however, now that he had to leave again, it was Ruby and Naomi who were bound to suffer the most.
If possible Rudra wanted to take them with him, however, he had no way to do so. But if in the future he ever found a method to return to the controlled universe or find a way to bring his wives to the upper realm, he was surely going to do it.
Naturally, there were small protests and emotional moments after Rudra's declaration but there was no debate regarding the outcome.
These were the last few hours that Rudra could enjoy in the controlled universe and it was completely up to the family now as to how they wanted to see him off.
Giving in, everyone played ball and spent the last few hours with Rudra as best as they could as they shared a few private emotional exchanges and made a few promises.
They explored the Rajput capital together, the house they were going to live in from now on, as just as they were done exploring, it was Max who showed up alongside Kremeth Jr, Asiva and Anna as Rudra shared a final goodbye with them as well.
For Junior, Rudra left a treasure trove immeasurable in value, containing self-created battle techniques and life protection charms that were going to help junior with a speedy growth and a stable foundation once he recovered his mental ability.
Asiva, who was shocked about Rudra leaving the controlled universe now felt a little guilty about her behaviour towards him, as she had no idea that it was his last day with them earlier.
She and Anna both gave him a warm good-bye hug as after that the two brothers went on a private stroll as there were some things that Rudra needed to talk about.
" I can't believe it brother…. You are a reincarnator as well" Max said with a soft smile on his face as he did not bring up the topic of Rudra's ascension like the others, nor did he seem sad that Rudra was moving to a higher realm as he understood that it was only natural for his brother to do so.
" Yeah, I regressed before Omega started, I only had future knowledge till tier5 of that game, but in Sigma I was on my own…..
Thankfully, I found your diary, that shocked me but I learnt a lot" Rudra confessed as Max widened his eyes in disbelief.
If Rudra's knowledge ended at the tutorial level, then his other achievements were even more impressive.
" Will you fight the perfect warrior, brother?" Max asked as Rudra immediately sighed at that question.
" Of Course I'm going there to fight him, if possible, I'm going to defeat him, however, I don't think that will be possible in my first fight against him…." Rudra said as he looked into Max's eyes and placed his hands over his shoulders.
" I'm leaving everything here to you Max, I'm naming you the next supreme lord, leaving the queen's command and authority to you alongside all my treasures and knowledge.
However, what's more important than all of them is this communication token…" Rudra said as he handed over to Max the communication token which would allow him to talk to Max once from the celestial realm.
" I'm a better strategist than a fighter Max, after my fight against the perfect warrior I'll find a way to beat him, however, it may not be me who beats him.
You have a better foundation and may need to work even harder to have the necessary tools to beat that guy, but together we will beat him" Rudra said with the emotion clear in his eyes as Max was taken aback.
He had not expected his brother to go into the celestial realm as nothing but a tester and leave the heavy lifting to him.
It was a big burden but it also made Max feel immensely proud that his brother thought about him so highly.
Clutching the communication token that Rudra handed over to him, he gave his brother a confident nod as he said " Don't worry brother, I'll take care of the family and I'll ascend to the celestial realm as strong as you need me to be.
The perfect warrior will go down to a Rajput, that much I promise"
Rudra smiled, Max was indeed reliable and cute. This was exactly what he wanted from his brother.
" Max, after I ascend there will be two new seeds of power that will show up in the universe and I'll need you to claim them before anyone else does.
I've recorded the knowledge about the seeds and their correlation to ascension. It's a dairy in my treasury and you can retrieve it once you reach tier8.
It's important that you do-" Rudra said as Max nodded once more.
He had a vague idea about what Rudra was trying to say because he had read the diary of the god of war Junfred, however, more clarity was always appreciated.
" Brother... thankyou for trusting me and thank you for all that you have done for me and this family. Without you, I or any of us would never have reached this stage in life.
We could only grow because you shielded us well and I will never forget that.
I'll shield the kids from now on and someday when I ascend, the position of the supreme lord will be passed to Jake, so you can rest assured" Max confessed as Rudra flicked his forehead and smiled.
He did not understand as to why his brother had became so stiff and formal in these later years however it seemed like having a family of his own changed his perspective about belonging to the same roof.
Rudra did not think much about this promise, he knew Max would do what was best for the family as he began to slowly step away from his brother.
" Keep my ascension a secret from the rest of the universe till you reach tier8 Max and….. good-luck" Rudra said as he slowly spread his arms and let the energy amalgamation resume.
" Good-Bye brother" Max said softly as he watched the full process of his brother becoming a streak of energy and moving at light speed out of the controlled universe, breaking past the realm of chaotic energies and ascending into the celestial realm beyond.
It all happened rapidly, but for Max he could see it all vividly in slow motion as he embraced the experience in its full.
His brother had left the universe forever today which meant that the position of the strongest in the universe was once again up for grabs.
His ascension could be covered up for a while as not many would know about it yet, however, the news could not be suppressed forever.
Max needed to ascend to tier8 as soon as possible as once the news about Rudra ascending broke out the hounds were sure to start to circle and Max needed all the strength that he could get to remind them that although Rudra had ascended the power dynamics if them being subservient to the supreme lord had not changed at all.
" Time to become a monarch, I guess" Max said as he clutched his fingers and headed towards the cosmic void, the place where he was going to attempt his final graded tier promotion test.
