( Regus Aurelius's POV )
Regus had fully expected to die, yet mysteriously, there seemed to be outside intervention by none other than a dead man who came in out of nowhere and saved his life.
He hadn't seen how he killed the Mercenary King Avans, or how he killed the Savage King.
He did not know what the monstrous creature standing atop the pink barrier was, nor did he understand who the caster behind the pink barrier was.
All that he understood was that currently he was locked inside a space, where Lucifer was fighting against Shakuni The Terrifying and at the moment it seemed like Lucifer was gathering divine energy as he prepared to unleash an attack on Shakuni.
At first he thought he had hallucinated, but a second later he became sure of it.
Shakuni was looking at him with his side eye and casually winking at him for some reason.
The first time it felt like a hallucination, however, the second time around Regus just broke out into laughter as he grabbed his sword and unleashed a relatively weak, but still a great sword slash towards Lucifer's neck.
ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm It was the best that Regus could manage in his current state and while the sword slash was not strong enough to take off Lucifer's neck, it was enough to leave a gashing wound, meaning that the devil now had a choice to make between evading the attack and starting to gather his essence all over again, or, continuing with his attack and taking the damage to his neck.
From start to finish, the only proof that Lucifer had completely forgotten about Regus was the bitter expression on his face which revealed his reluctance to let himself be hit by his attack.
But he knew he could not afford to start over again, as despite watching the attack come and having the ability to dodge it easily, Lucifer did not dodge it and ended up having the sword slash cause critical damage to the side of his neck as his HP dropped from 90% to 65%.
Regus chuckled and looked at Shakuni who made the " OK " sign towards him, while he himself had a wide grin on his face as he awaited Lucifer's attack.
Although Lucifer was preparing to launch an extremely powerful tier8 attack, Shakuni did not seem to care as if everything happening here was already fully under his control.
" What a guy…" Regus said as he sat down on the floor and became a spectator as to whatever was about to unfold next.
Although he wasn't sure as to what exactly was going on here, he had a feeling that he was going to witness the end of Lucifer happening right before his eyes.

( Meanwhile Max )
Max was chuckling his ass off as he could not believe the strength of his own barrier.
The attack that the universal queen had used on his barrier was the strongest attack Max had ever seen anyone unleash with his own eyes and yet, even that attack bounced harmlessly off his barrier without even scratching it.
Although Zogaroth the abyssal mage had claimed that this barrier technique was his life's research and the strongest move to ever exist capable of sealing monarchs, Max had taken his words back then with a grain of salt as it seemed too good to be true.
Max was under the impression that scientists had a habit of exaggerating the capabilities of their creations, however, he had to eat that notion today as it seemed like at least the scientists of the olden times did not exaggerate.
Max watched with full concentration how his brother killed the Savage King and how Lucifer trembled before him, all the while the queen kept trying to break his barrier spell but to no success.
However, just as the battle within the barrier reached its peak with Regus rejoining the fight and Lucifer being on the cusp of unleashing his big move, he saw a system notification that blew his mind.

Max saw the system quest and felt his scalp go numb, the queen had absolutely lost it and was telling him to betray his own brother.
Instantly Max had made a decision, which was that even if it meant incurring the wrath of the queen, he was never going to betray his brother, however, it was at that moment that his eyes laid on the rock near his feet, and for some reason the words " DO IT " were written on the rock beneath.
Max recognised the handwriting on the rock and it was clearly his brothers, but the question was when did he get the chance to write it?
Perplexed, he looked in the direction of his brother and found him to be looking straight back at him as he clearly winked with his right eye.
A stupid smile spread on Max's face as he face-palmed himself and felt an enormous load being lifted off his shoulders.
Sometimes he forgot that his brother fought at a level beyond what normal fighters were capable of.
His control of his environment was absolute and it did not matter if his enemy was Lucifer or the queen or the universe itself, in the end everyone was dancing on his palm.

Keeping a close eye on the countdown, Max decided to accept the request and undo the barrier at the very last second, giving his brother maximum time that he could under the protection of the spell.
' What are you upto this time? Brother?' Max wondered as he watched on in anticipation.
