( Lucius and Felix Aurelius's POV )
Lucius and Felix were falling back with heavy hearts.
They had obeyed the orders of their father, and lead the Aurelius forces to retreat.
They were ashamed and every step they took felt like a bitter pill to swallow, but somehow they kept retreating at full speed, praying that their father was able to hold off the three monarchs long enough for them to enter light faction controlled lands.
Mid-way through their retreat, they arrived at the narrow valley that Max had just had his incredibly difficult fight at and were stunned to see countless dead bodies of demon gods strewn all across the narrow passageway.
" Wha? What the hell happened here? " Lucius questioned as suddenly from the adjacent cliff a dwarf and a man Lucius recognised all too well dropped in front of him.
Both the man and the dwarf were covered in blood from head to toe and looked like they had just been through an incredibly difficult fight.
Uptil now, the vampires had no idea that the demon army was enroute to destroy their disc and that Max had bravely intervened to stop them, as it was only now that they began realising the sheer magnitude of the events that had unfolded here.
" What happened here? " Felix Aurelius questioned as Sebastian looked at him with lifeless eyes and replied " 197 demon gods and close to 2 million demon soldiers have been slaughtered by us.
We fought tooth and nail in this valley and stalled them for 2 hours, the time that the other light faction forces needed to come and cover for our disc.
Hopefully we've done enough, but close to 18 million demons are still enroute marching towards the vampire disc "
Every vampire who heard Sebastian's words felt their minds go numb when they comprehended it's meaning.
If it wasn't for the reputation that preceded the two men who claimed this feat, they would have immediately dismissed the claim as them being delusional, but looking into Sebastian and Max's soulless eyes and the death and destruction around them, they couldn't help but swallow their saliva and keep their doubts to themselves.
For now, with Max looking exactly as the clone's identity of Max Rajput, nobody was any wiser about him also being Ravan Bloodfall and a primordial vampire and hence they only treated him like a commander of the Bloodfall army.
Sebastian's words raised a lot of concerns for the retreating vampires as if 18 million demons were on their march towards the vampire fort then the path back home could no longer be considered safe.
While not being safe was one thing, it also raised the question of whether the vampires should rush back and try to backstab the demon forces and help protect their disc?
" How did the demons get here more than two hours ago? That's when the disc raid had just been activated, they can't come here so fast- " one Aurelius god pointed out as he tried to enlighten everyone that Sebastian's story was logically flawed but neither Max nor Sebastian deemed it necessary to provide any explanations.
Felix narrowed his eyes listening to his general's words, however, he did not immediately demand an explanation from Max and Sebastian either.
" Why are the vampires retreating? I can see the disc light is still on- " Max eventually said as he looked towards the pillar of light that was shooting towards the sky out of Satan's base, but faced with his question the vampire forces only hung their heads in shame.
For a few seconds nobody said anything but eventually it was Lucius who spoke up-
" My father has defeated Satan, however, just after his victory, Lucifer, Mercenary King Avans and the Savage King all jumped him in a 3v1 battle.
He issued the order to retreat at that moment and is currently holding the three sovereign's off as we speak "
Max's eyes widened in disbelief as he heard this.
If this was true, he needed to immediately go and help bring the Bloodfall clan to safety, as he immediately took to the sky and shot out towards the direction of the battle.

( Meanwhile Anna )
Anna woke up groggily as her ears rang constantly giving her a nasty headache.
The last thing she remembered was shooting towards a dragon's belly when a shockwave coming from the east suddenly knocked her out.
As she looked around, she was surprised to see that she was no longer inside the desert, but rather sleeping on solid rock.
She was surrounded by soldiers of the fourth legion who seemed to be knocked out cold as well and had countless small bruises and injuries all across their bodies.
' Just what the hell happened here? ' Anna wondered as it was at that moment that she somehow heard the shouts of retreat sounding in the distance.
She struggled to get to her feet and as she looked across she found that apart from herself only DarkSorrow, Severus and a handful other tier5 warriors had woken up while the rest of the Bloodfall army was out cold.
When the ringing sound finally stopped, she realised that it was DarkSorrow who was shouting the command to retreat as he was desperately trying to shake and wake up all the Bloodfall soldiers around him to get them out of harm's way.
As Anna looked into the distance, she saw the unmistakable visage of the devil Lucifer brandish his sword against the vampire monarch as she felt her heart tighten with fear.
When she realised that she and the Bloodfall clan were only a few dozen kilometres away from the spot where four monarchs were fighting she immediately understood why DarkSorrow was screaming retreat orders, as she immediately picked up her bow and shot an arrow towards the sky that was meant to create rainfall-
A couple seconds later, water droplets began to fall from the sky, jolting the sleepy Bloodfall soldiers awake as Anna began to forcefully organise them into shape and get them to start a move on.
