Regus was absolutely furious as he went on a rampage against Satan unleashing one powerful attack after another to push the horn-headed sovereign on the backfoot.
" How dare you lay your filthy hands on MY SON? HOW DARE YOU KILL MY BLOODLINE BEFORE MY EYES? " Regus bellowed with rage as he unleashed a sword strike that could cleave a mountain in half-
Satan, who was evading Regus's attacks non-stop, chuckled loudly as he felt the power of the vampire monarch and judged him to be a fun opponent.
Drawing out his own weapon which was a weird battle axe with a thin handle, extremely long, curved axe blade and an attached trident at the top, Satan slashed back towards Regus's attack, neutralising it effortlessly in the process.
Finally stopping his escape, Satan looked straight into the vampire monarch's eyes as he spoke with a mischievous and provocative undertone " Yes, I dare-, yes, I killed your weakling spawn in front of your own eyes and there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it!"
Satan openly provoked Regus and succeeded in garnering the irk of the vampire monarch and making him forget about his duties as a king.
Had Regus been level headed and within the vicinity of his army, he would have received a report at this moment about the strange developments on the western front where the werewolves had suddenly changed directions and were headed for the vampire base.
The strategy to draw them out and make them face the southern forces was a failure and the troops needed fresh orders on how to handle the situation.
Had Regus been present, he could have assessed the situation and issued new instructions to the vampire forces, but in his absence there was no other relevant authority that could make the decision in a snap.
The vampires were losing valuable time in trying to decide whether to chase the werewolves or let them be and instead approach the now vulnerable western flank to try and take that route to destroy the dark faction disc.
It was a strategic blunder on the part of the vampires, but a technical masterclass on the part of Satan, who was currently enjoying his solo clash against Regus, before his help arrived.

" It's done my lord, everything is exactly how you envisioned it to be, " Lucifer's subordinate reported as the devil rose from his throne with a smile on his face and cracked his neck to release some tension in his shoulders.
" Excellent - " Lucifer complimented as he grabbed his sword and glanced towards the direction of where Satan was fighting Regus.
" Are the savage king and mercenary king ready to submit to me? " Lucifer asked with an amused expression on his face.
" Yes, they are ready to swear allegiance to you, my lord, and to prove their fealty they will accompany you in battle today " the subordinate reported as Lucifer's sinister smile widened.
Just a year ago both the Mercenary King and the Savage King were light faction monarchs, but in under a year not only had they defected to change sides because of the allure of unrestricted power, but now had also bent the knee before him as they understood the true might of the treasure in his possession.
A few private shows of strength had been enough to scare both of them out of their wits.
However, rather than using the forced way, Lucifer carefully used the carrot and stick approach to first scare them and then give them the allure of benefits to make them willingly submit.
" Those two were always smart, they jumped ship just before theirs was about to sink " Lucifer commented as he began leisurely walking out of his palace.
Today, as his main army attacked the vampire disc, the entire light faction was expecting him to show up and lead his army's charge.
If he understood the nature of his brothers well, he knew that the moment he stepped deep into the light faction lands, they would show up personally to confront him.
While it was a clash that was inevitable in the future, it wasn't a fight that he was interested in fighting today.
The fight that interested him today was to team up with Satan and kill Regus Aurelius.
Rarely did he ever get a chance to outnumber and hunt a monarch without the risk of them fleeing, and today was one such opportunity.
Regus was a rightful ruler who would die before he let his people be annihilated and that was the weakness that Lucifer was going to exploit today as he hunted him down alongside Satan, Avans and the savage king.
Had the situation been different and he tried to confront Regus one on one…..despite having the seed of darkness, Lucifer did not have the confidence to take him down without him fleeing with his life.
But in the battlefield, in the middle of millions of vampires, there was no way Regus was ever fleeing.
He had already utilised his knowledge about which disc was going to be activated to give his army a great shot at success, now if he coupled that with killing the vampire monarch then today would go down as a historic day for the dark faction and would build momentum for their eventual victory.

( Meanwhile Rudra )
Rudra watched with a smile as Max struggled internally on what to do before eventually deciding to risk his life to try and protect his side's disc.
He was clearly afraid, however, taking just the clone and the fat dwarf with him, he decided to head towards the valley that Rudra had drawn on the sand below to explain to him as to where he should try and stop the demon army's march.
The valley was a narrow passage that an advancing foot army had to take to not have to travel through a hilly rainforest region.
It saved roughly two hours worth of march time and was a choke point where Max could hope to hold off the army in a spot where their numbers would not be as useful as they would be on an open battlefield.
It was going to be a bloody and dangerous battle, where Rudra would usually have accompanied him, but he wasn't going to this time around.
He was going to be watching and he was never going to let Max die, however, with him already having mastered warp teleportation, he had no need to actually be physically present by his side to ensure his safety.
On the other hand, if his calculations were correct, the man he was waiting to slay for so long was about to make his presence known in this very battlefield soon.

Also I would like to clarify since many of you are misunderstanding that Max already knows that the old man is Rudra, which isn't the case.
Max suspects that the old man is somehow connected to Rudra / shares his memories or is his chosen one which is why he trusts him, but he doesn't actually believe that the old man is his brother in hiding.
Hope this clarifies some doubts on why he calls him old man and not ' brother ' ///
