Time itself seemed to pause for a split second as Cervantez's sword met with Kane's spear and made a very loud (*clink*) sound of metal clashing.
As the two divine weapons collided with the full force of their monarchs behind them a shockwave that could cleave mountain-tops in half was created as everything in a half-mile radius of the spot where the two monarchs had clashed was blown away alongside the dust and debris.
Rudra also took this opportunity to disengage and remain anonymous as he let himself be carried with the shockwave winds before disappearing once more as his role in this fight was over, but he was still watching this rare fight happen from a distance.
Despite using a single hand, the force with which Cervantez pressed down on Kane, made the sovereign buckle under the pressure as although he was pushing back while holding back his spear with both his hands, he was eventually outmuscled and sent flying towards the ground below like a comet.
*Crash*
Kane crashed into the ground below and before even regaining his footing the first thing he did was to use [ Divine Dispatch ]
The space around him filled with countless bright starry lights which seemed to streak towards the sky and transform into an uncountable number of long spears all pointing towards Cervantez who was charging towards the spot where he had fallen.
[ 1 million sword cuts ]
Cervantez countered the incoming javelins with precisely controlled sword qi which met with each incoming javelin attacks and neutralised them.
Cervantez displayed his superior control over the sword as he managed to neutralise a tier6 divine attack with a normal tier5 attack whose application and precision were taken to the extreme.
As he descended upon Kane once more the collision forced the very dimensional battlefield to tremble as the earth underneath their feet cracked creating a long and wide chasm.
A few kilometres away, both DarkSorrow and Anna who were fighting on different sides of the area where Kane was fighting Cervantez, felt the effects of the tremors as the fighting between the Bloodfall and Mercenary forces had to be temporarily stopped till everyone could regain their footing.
A chasm 50 feet deep opened near Anna and swallowed a few hundred Mercenary soldiers where Anna felt lucky as it could have been her who fell into the chasm too.
When the dust finally settled, Kane was coughing blood as the sheer impact of the sword strike that had seen him being sent through the dimensional crust caused untold internal injuries to the tier8 god.
With a smile which looked like that of a man who knew he was doomed to die, Kane looked into Cervantez's eyes and said " Long time, no see, noble emperor "
Cervantez nodded to Kane's acknowledgement as he said " May your evil soul rest in peace, wicked sovereign "
What followed was a beautiful dance between the sword and the spear which happened at a pace that was invisible to mortals, yet Rudra with his omniscient eyes caught every small detail of it.
Cervantez's sword moved like a shimmering ribbon of molten gold against the twilight sky, its arcs and slashes leaving trails of luminescent energy in their wake.
Kane, despite his injuries, parried each attack with his spear, the weapon spinning like a vortex in his hands, deflecting the incoming strikes with calculated precision.
[ Cataclysmic Crescent ]
Cervantez channelled an immense amount of divine energy into his sword, causing it to glow a radiant gold. He swung the weapon in a wide arc, releasing a crescent-shaped wave of energy that tore through the dimensional plane towards Kane.
[ Void Eruption ]
In retaliation, Kane thrust his spear into the ground. The earth trembled, cracking open to reveal a swirling void that absorbed the incoming attack. However, the stress of creating such a rift forced Kane to his knees, his frame trembling under the strain as he coughed up some more blood.
Their attacks wreaked havoc on the surrounding landscape. The ground, already littered with debris and fissures, split open even more. Huge boulders rose into the air, suspended in the chaotic flux of energy unleashed by the two gods.
Cervantez who knew that Kane was on the brink of defeat had no hesitation in using one of his strongest tier7 attacks to try and conclude this fight for once and for all as he began gathering his divine essence for an ultimate attack.
Kane, who saw Cervantez preparing the attack, did the same on his end as he understood that there was no running away from a move of this scale. He could either stand his ground and have a silly hope that one of his dark faction sovereigns would bail him out, or die while having his back turned.
[ Nebula Nova ]
Cervantez's aura expanded, a supernova of energy spreading out from him, changing the very atmosphere around him.
It was as if the cosmic heavens had descended on the battlefield as swirling galaxies and nebulas formed around him, bathing the area in a celestial glow. The light pulsed and danced, merging into his sword changing the blade into a radiant star against the darkened sky.
With a shout, he brought it down, unleashing a celestial explosion that reverberated through the fabric of the dimension.
A wave of cosmic energy was unleashed, its sheer might dwarfing anything the battlefield had witnessed so far as it burst forth towards Kane.
Kane, despite his weakened state, refused to yield. Summoning the last of his strength, he prepared his own ultimate attack.
[ Sovereign's Descent ]
He spun his spear overhead, gathering dark energy that twirled and whirled into a storm above him. The air crackled, and the dimensional space around him distorted, the impending attack bending reality itself.
Two cataclysmic forces now hurtled towards each other, meeting in a spectacular collision of light and dark. The resulting shockwave tore through the battlefield.
Rudra who saw the two attacks collide felt the resulting impact rattle his core although he was many kilometres away, as he had goosebumps on his skin witnessing the true unadulterated power of two tier8 god's.
Despite the formidable nature of Kane's attack, it faltered against Cervantez's celestial assault as the celestial nova overpowered the dark storm, its cosmic energies proving too potent for the already weakened sovereign as the attack managed to land a deep gnash against the sovereigns chest bringing him to his knees once more.
Knowing this was his opportunity, Cervantez rushed for the kill as his sword cleaved through the residual energy with ease, plunging into Kane, severing the sovereign's connection to his life force.
With swift, brutal elegance, the sword claimed Kane's head. The Sovereign's eyes, once filled with defiant fire, dulled as life fled from him. His head fell, a trophy claimed by Cervantez in this high-stakes duel.
Silence descended once more, a stunned quiet following the cosmic clash. Cervantez stood victorious, holding the decapitated head of the defeated sovereign. The battlefield, marked by the scars of their clash, echoed the finality of the duel, bearing silent testimony to Cervantez's triumphant supremacy.
Cervantez stood there silently for many breaths as he continued to scan the area for any signs of danger but there were none.
Only when the bloodlust left his body did he drop his opponent's head to the ground and departed the scene with his dignity as an emperor intact.
In a short decisive battle he had managed to land a big blow to the dark faction by claiming the life of one of its Monarch's.
