Chapter 272 Abnormal Case

Lei Zhen was quite curious as to who the mysterious inventor of the Nutrient Solution was.

Everyone only knew about the product, but no one actually knew the person that had created such an astounding product that was able to assist comatose patients as well.

Alas, information regarding such things is always placed at the top confidential level and Lei Zhen doubts even they knew who the creator was.

After all, this kind of product would have long been monopolized by greedy businessmen if they ever knew the source of it was from.

As Lei Zhen gazed at Lei Qingxuan's limbs starting to move, tears were dropping from his eyes.

10 years wasn't short, and just how many people can experience a lot of 10 years in their lifetime?

While Lei Zhen was in a daze, the nurse in the room kindly reminded him that he'll need to leave, "Sorry, but I'll need to do some work here now." "Right, it's my mistake to be bothering your work." Lei Zhen chuckled softly and left the room, allowing the nurse to do her work.

Sometime later, Lei Zhen returned back to Samantha's office, his face practically beaming in a glorious light.

"Seeing your expression, I'm guessing everything was well?" Samantha chuckled. She had never seen him having such a facial expression in the past. This was the first time that she had seen real joy beaming on his face.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Of course, it's been 10 years already. I can finally take a breather once she wakes up."

"What kind of breather? The retaking of the Lei Enterprise?"

Suddenly, Lei Zhen was stunned when she brought up the matter of Lei Enterprise.

"Don't be too stunned about it. Some of the shareholders of the Lei Enterprise are my patients as well, and naturally, the information that is concealed from the public isn't much of a secret to me." Samantha said, explaining that she had long known about his matter.

And to be honest, everyone that is within the social circle of the wealthiest would know about his downfall. Hence, someone of Samantha's caliber could naturally get her hands on such information.

"There's nothing that could be hidden from you." Lei Zhen raised his hands up as a sign of surrender.

"People do call me a seer for a reason. I can pierce through the deepest and darkest secret a person is trying to hide." Samantha said, flashing a wicked look.

It was clear that she was joking about the matter, but Lei Zhen was sure that it wasn't much further from the actual truth. Samantha practically controlled a lot of wealthy people based on her medical skills alone.

However, only the real top hierarchy of the world knew Samantha had a much deeper background that everyone needed to respect.

"Anyway, now that you are revitalized with the great news, my three female basic trainees seem to be struggling with a patient and the doctor in charge is telling me to take control. Therefore, you're up, my lovely assistant." Samantha suddenly said.

Lei Zhen rolled his eyes.

"Where's the floor and room number?" He then asked, clearly knowing he had no other choice.

"On the 3rd floor in room 305. The patient is experiencing some shock and the trainees' reaction to it caused the attending doctor to have a migraine. So now it's up to you to clean up their mess." She explained, letting him know the attending doctor was furious.

"Of course, why wouldn't they make the attending doctor furious."

After saying that, Lei Zhen left the office and prepared to clean up the mess that the three female trainees had made, namely, Lily, Grace, and Amanda.

Arriving on the 3rd floor, a nurse quickly spotted Lei Zhen as soon as he got off the elevator.

"Hello, are you the new assistant of Doctor Samantha?" The nurse asked him.

"Yes, I was sent down here by Doctor Samantha." Lei Zhen responded politely.

"The three female trainees are currently situated at the office in 352, and the attending doctor wishes to hear your explanation."

"I understand, nurse."

With that said, Lei Zhen made his way toward office room 352. He had been briefed that the attending doctor was a grumpy old man, Cain, and that his reputation was the trainee killer.

Any trainees that came under him were always being scolded and reprimanded harshly, mainly because of their terrible medical skills and wrong diagnosis.

Entering office room 352, Doctor Cain was ready to scold the new assistant but halted himself when he realized who the new person was.

"L-Lei Zhen? Why are you here?" Doctor Cain's furious expression quickly subsided as he flashed a smile upon seeing Lei Zhen.

"It's good to see you still working hard, Doctor Cain." Lei Zhen smiled briefly.

Doctor Cain was harsh to all newbies except for one person, and that was him.

Back in his days still being a resident, Lei Zhen was actually guided by Doctor Cain and made quite the impression. It was to the point that Doctor Cain had specifically told him to choose his major and to be tutored under him as his next successor.

"Wait a minute, you're the new assistant of Doctor Samantha?" Doctor Cain exclaimed in shock, clearly unable to comprehend Lei Zhen's choices.

"Yeah, stuff happens and I kind of ended up assisting Doctor Samantha." Lei Zhen scratched his head and said awkwardly.

"Hmm, not bad. Doctor Samantha is a fantastic doctor herself and if she's the one to tutor you, then I can only accept it. Though, these three females have still irritated me to no end. They actually almost killed the patient with their rash decision." Doctor Cain suddenly changed his tone and glared at the three females, causing them to be tensed up.

And he continued, "Anyway since you're the assistant then I can trust you to watch over them carefully. My head is still hurting from the previous scolding I have to do."

Lei Zhen smiled on the surface, but inwardly, he wanted to cry because Doctor Cain was pushing the responsibility on him, just like what Samantha had done.

"Yes, Doctor Cain. Just leave them up to me." Lei Zhen said with a big smile despite the reluctance in his mind.

"Good, I'm glad to have you back in the medical field after a long time. I still can't believe those foolish examiners would fail such a talented young man. I swear their brains are filled with peanuts."

With that said, Doctor Cain left the room, letting Lei Zhen properly educate the trainees.

Once his presence was gone, Lei Zhen sighed in relief before glaring at the three females.

"Let me guess, Grace was too timid to make a diagnosis or a decision at all whereas Lily was confused and didn't know what to do. As for Amanda, you are probably confident of your ability and decided to do a treatment without notifying Doctor Cain, the attending doctor, right?" Lei Zhen instantly called them out with a strict tone.

Seeing the three of them remain silent, Lei Zhen was clear that he was right with his deduction.

However, he didn't choose to scold or reprimand them at all since it would just be a waste of energy and breath. If yelling were ever going to do them any good, then this world wouldn't have needed college or education at all.

"Let's go meet with the patient in room 305 first. And I want the three of you to formally apologize to the patient for your rash decision that almost cost the patient's life." Lei Zhen said, forcing them to own up to their mistakes and take responsibility.

He wasn't going to tell them that everything is alright and well. The hospital isn't the time for jokes or giggles, but for serious people only. If one can't take this job seriously, then they don't belong here at all.

"Yes, Assistant Lei Zhen." This time, none of the females dared to ignore Lei Zhen's words and replied in respect. Even Amanda with her large confidence was bowing her head slightly in respect of Lei Zhen.

After this incident, she knew her confidence had nearly caused them to become murderers, and she dared not show off her arrogance again until she gained enough experience.

Sometime later, the four of them went to room 305 to formally apologize to the patient.

Luckily, the patient was an understanding person and wasn't enraged by their rash decision.

With a few more words back and forth, Lei Zhen and the others left the room to allow the patient to rest properly.

Just when Lei Zhen was about to teach the females, he was suddenly called by a nurse.

"Assistant Lei Zhen, Doctor Cain has called for your appearance in room 329 urgently." The nurse said anxiously, causing Lei Zhen to be confused.

'What could be so urgent?' He wondered silently.

Nevertheless, he nodded his head and told the females to study more with past medical records while he rushed toward room 329.

By the time he arrived at room 329, Lei Zhen was astonished to see a patient in the MagnoPod while Doctor Cain was showing a grave expression.

"What's going on here, Doctor Cain?" Lei Zhen asked, seemingly trying to understand the situation.

"Oh, it's a good thing you're here, Lei Zhen. This patient is comatose in the MagnoPod, and his parents had notified the authorities about it." Doctor Cain explained.

"Huh, so the patient isn't just in the virtual game?" Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow.

"Unfortunately, the parents thought so too, but it had been over 3 weeks since the patient was stuck in the MagnoPod. Even the Nutrient Solutions had run dry, and lots of warning signs occurred, but the patient was unable to exit off the MagnoPod, remaining in this state."

"So what we're seeing is that- the patient is stuck in the MagnoPod capsule, unable to come back to the real world…"
