Chapter 278 Open Offer

It took a few hours before Lady Zefney, accompanied by her brother, finally visited Alex, and he warmly welcomed them into the room and promptly ordered refreshments for their comfort.

Feldar recognized Alex with a single glance for his achievements against the demons, and instantly, the wild aura surrounding him vanished.

Feldar was a figure of commanding presence with a tall frame, standing over seven feet, his build moderate but was visibly muscular beneath his attire, and he had emotionless and piercing dark brown eyes that described the harsh life he had lived.

Shoulder-length brown hair framed his face, with a prominent, giant cone-shaped scar running from the left side of his neck up to his forehead, giving him an air of rugged refinement.

He was dressed in a slightly loose gray-colored mage robe with its edges lined with brown scaly leather and, underneath it was visible a pitch-black full-body cloth armor.

What stood out the most about him was the naturally cold aura and heavy aura that seemed to emanate from his very being, giving him the presence of a cold predator.

After introducing himself and telling Alex about his status as an S Rank adventurer, Feldar stood up, his cold expression revealing little emotion before slightly bowing his head down to show his sincerity.

"Aeon, you have my deepest gratitude for saving my sister's life," Feldar said before sitting back down.

"While there is nothing I can offer to truly repay this favor, I do possess a few items in my collection that should be of benefit to you."

"This is almost everything I have as my possession, and you are welcome to select whatever you desire. There are no restrictions on the quantity you can take, as this is the least I can do to express my gratitude for saving my only family." Feldar said as he placed fourteen space rings on the table one by one.

'I am certain that Voidweaver's Orb is not in these rings, but I can't be too sure, and then there is also the possibility of him having other valuable things that I could benefit from,' Alex thought as he picked the first ring.

"Don't get angry if I decide to take too many things," Alex said with a smile, and in turn, Feldar just chuckled.

Alex turned his attention to the collection of space rings Feldar had laid out on the table before him, picked the first one, and swiftly scanned its contents using the system.

Alex scanned the rings one by one, and as he did so, the faint blue holographic screen from his system kept steadily updating with a growing list of items.

Among the treasures revealed were an array of weapons and armor, potions with varied effects, skill books, exotic recipes, invaluable knowledge, and many other intriguing and diverse items.

It took him just a few minutes to complete the scanning process, and after the scan, Alex swiftly searched for the item he desired, and as he expected, the Voidweaver's Orb was not present.

A bit disappointed, Alex started examining all of the other items as there was always the possibility of discovering something valuable or unique among Feldar's possessions, and he was keen on making the most of this opportunity.

After a few minutes, Alex found the first item of interest, which was a pendant that was related to a unique quality quest with the reward being the egg of a mutated Dragon snake, a companion beast with the potential to reach the peak of Sixth Rank with just him reaching adulthood.

Alex knew about the pendant because it appeared in the third yearly continental auction with the added information that it belonged to the Lizardman Royalty and was sold for an absurdly high price.

Alex decided to take the pendant and then moved to check the other items, and to his surprise, there were many valuable things ranging from tens of incomplete legacy items to several exotic recipes.

Detailed maps of deep wilderness areas and hidden locations, the likes of Crystal Valley, and even locations of hidden dungeons, with detailed information from the monsters that occupied those areas to the resources to be found.

Everything aside, the maps alone were of immense value to any guild, and even though Alex wanted to pick a few for himself, he decided against it because he still needed Feldar to give him the Voidweaver's Orb.

After a few minutes, Alex was done checking the items, and other than the pendant, he took nothing as everything else could be acquired from other sources.

"You just want this pendant?" Feldar questioned after Alex took out the pendant and told him he wanted nothing else.

Feldar was genuinely surprised because while he had expected Alex not to be a greedy person, he had anticipated that he would choose at least a few valuable items.

"I want just the pendent from the items you are offering, but I also hope that you can use your connections to search for an item of a specific nature," Alex said.

"I am listening," Feldar said as he raised his hand to stop Lady Zefney from speaking her mind.

"I am looking for an item of space element at least of middle Legendary quality, and it should be of both defensive and offensive nature, and I am willing to pay a fair price for it," Alex said, and hearing it, Feldar slightly narrowed his eyes at him.

Alex couldn't ask for the Voidweaver's Orb directly because Feldar having it wasn't public information, and asking for it would make him question if saving his sister was all preplanned, which would very well result in Feldar losing his temper, and then there would be no peaceful way to get the item from him.

"What are you willing to offer for that item? Because I don't believe anyone will be willing to sell such a rare item for money," Feldar said after staying silent for a few seconds.

"I would trade legendary items of higher quality to meet the value or simply try to meet the seller's demand," Alex said, leaving an open offer.

Alex had told Feldar what he wanted, and by leaving him an open offer, he was certain that sooner or later, he would offer him Voidweaver's Orb to repay his debt.

As for Feldar offering him something other than Voidweaver's Orb, it was very unlikely because high-tier items were already rare, let alone one belonging to space element and having both offensive and defensive capabilities.

"Add your communication mark. I will contact you as soon I have what you want," Feldar said, handing his communication slip to Alex.

Alex added his contact mark to the slip before returning it, and after accepting it, Feldar took all the space rings before standing up and offering a handshake.

"Aeon, if you ever need assistance, don't hesitate to contact me. I will do my utmost to aid you." Feldar spoke with sincerity as they shook hands.

With that, Feldar walked toward the room door, and after thanking him once more, Lady Zefney also took her leave, leaving Alex alone, who was happy with how things went.

'Now I should complete building my mana veins, as the demons shouldn't be invading any place for the next few days, and then I can return to the Malefis Domain to finally test my luck with the Evolution fruit,'

'But before that, let first see if that dark crystal I got from the demon commander is of any value,' Alex thought, and without any delay, he left the room toward the city training chamber.
