Chapter 273 Killing The Demon Fiend

'I can't leave this place, not with Lady Zefney, and leaving without her is not an option, so the only option left is to fight,' Alex thought, feeling the combined bloodlust from the two demons.

'I can't win in a head-on battle, but if I can catch my opponent off guard, then killing one of them is possible while the ogre could handle the second one,' Alex thought, swiftly formulating a plan.

"Summoner, Leave Now," The Ogre said to Alex as he firmly held his spiked mace, ready to face the two demons.

"Take care of the fiery Demon. I will handle the fiend," Alex replied.

"Ugemun, you heard the human, so take care of this brute while I end the life of this human pest," The fiend said as he slowly descended toward Alex with a wide grin.

The ogre glanced toward Alex before looking toward the two demons, and in the blink of an eye, he released intense killing intent as his muscles swelled, getting covered in bulging veins.

The ogre had used his primal rage skill significantly, boosting his strength, and while still in the process of transformation, he moved toward the fiery demon bear, hugging him in the air and vanishing from sight.

"I should have chosen the ogre as the battle with him would be more entertaining," The fiend mumbled as he landed a few meters away from Alex.

"Yes, You should have chosen the ogre, as then you would not be experiencing a very painful death," Alex replied, as he used his unique eyes.

'Bell of Unholy Curses' 'Mage Focus'

Alex knew that he was no match for the demon and would be dead in a flash if the demon wanted, so to create the opportunity he needed, he was trying to piss him off so that he would drag the battle longer and not end it in seconds.

Alex, with his stats, could rival even the peak fourth Rank individuals, but against a fifth Rank, things were different because even the weakest fifth Rank individuals had stats above the limits of a mortal, meaning each stat being over 20K in numerical value.

"You talk big for a mere pest," The fiend said, his face carrying a playful smile.

Alex felt time slow down thanks to the effects of mage focus while he perceived his surroundings in extreme clarity using his unique eyes, and the moment the fiend moved toward him, aiming to catch him by the neck, he stepped to the side before slashing at the demon's neck.

As the sword touched the scaly neck of the demon, sparks flew from the friction while Alex felt resistance as the blade encountered the tough, armored hide of the fiend.

Alex swiftly stepped back, creating distance from the demon, who stood with clear surprise as he touched his neck to feel the thin cut he received from the slash.

'Tenacity' 'Dark Lightning'

"You pest, I will rip you apart," The fiend growled as he vanished, and the next instance, he appeared before Alex and threw a swift punch, which he missed, but the following punch, he landed right on Alex's chest.

"BOOOMMM"

Alex was sent flying back, crashing into the wall, losing a tenth of his health, and before he could regain his focus, he felt a second punch in the face, making him break the wall and crash into the corridor.

The moment Alex regained sight, he saw the fiend's foot landing on his face, breaking his nose before getting lifted by his neck and, a moment later, crashing into the wall and landing back into the garden.

'Darkness Heal'

Alex had many of his bones broken, but things were developing as he wanted, with him not being dead and the fiend being enraged to the point of not keeping his guard up.

'Let's get some payback for the beating I endured,' Alex thought, looking at the fiend walking toward him.

'Curse of Petrification'

'Curse of Blindness'

'Curse of Eternal Slumber'

After cursing the fiend with the curses, Alex swiftly selected him as the target for the dark lighting to descend before he could recover from the curses.

The pitch-dark bolt of lightning struck the fiend right on his head, pinning him to the ground while demolishing tens of feet of the area around him into rubble.

The first bolt of lightning was followed by two more in quick succession, leaving the surrounding grass burned and the area in a pile of rubble and dust filled with lightning sparks.

'Soul Infusion'

Alex speared before the petrified fiend, firmly gripping his sword as it slowly turned ethereal, and the moment the blade reached the non-physical state, Alex swiftly slashed it multiple times at the fiend's head.

"RRRAAAAAAAA"

The fiend was jolted up as he roared at the top of his lungs, rolling on the floor while his health bar, which numbered over ten million, depleted at an extremely fast pace, and even before his agony-filled scream could end, his eyes turned cold as death claimed his life.

"I told you that you would have an agonizing death," Alex said as he deactivated all of his skills.

Alex looked toward the almost repaired barrier and, seeing the still unconscious beauties, he used the air jump to land on the mansion's roof to look for the ogre.

Alex looked around and quickly located the ogre engaged against the fiery demon, who also had entered a berserk state with flames on his body going wild as he swung his battle axe.

A small distance away from the battle between the ogre and the demon, a battle between a bloodied human captain wielding a bow and a demon holding a staff was taking flame, with both of them being at the peak of fifth Rank.

'The demons have reached their maximum number, which means it is only a matter of time before the struggle for the protected district starts.' Alex thought after observing his surroundings.

Alex knew he wouldn't be much help if he engaged with the fiery demon, so with the plan to help from the sidelines, he appeared above a rooftop close to the battle area and then transformed his sword into a spear before covering it with mana and null energy.

Seizing the perfect opening, Alex flung the spear with pinpoint accuracy, and like a lightning bolt, it streaked through the air and found its mark, lodging itself firmly into the demon's leg.

The force of the impact and pain made the demon stumble, leaving him wide open for an attack.

The ogre seized this opportunity, delivering a bone-crushing blow with his spiky mace right on the demon's face, sending him flying back, crashing through the street.

Using his Phantom walk, Alex vanished from his position and reappeared a safe distance away before summoning his weapon back to his hand, ready for the next move.

Alex continued interrupting the demon from the sidelines for the next four minutes, providing opportunities for the ogre to deal critical blows while keeping his eyes on the manor with Lady Zefney.

Once the fiery demon was weakened and battered, the ogre landed the final strike, crushing the demon's head and ending its life, and moments later, he exited his rage state.

Alex approached the ogre, who was now burned and bloodied but standing triumphantly over his vanquished foe and offered him a health potion.

The ogre inquired about the fiend's fate, and upon learning that Alex killed him, he fell silent, and after he saw the demon's lifeless body, amazement flickered across his face, yet he remained quiet.

Alex directed the ogre to follow him before going to the manor. After deactivating the barrier, he picked up the two still unconscious ladies, placing them onto his shoulder, before leaving toward the nearest protected district.

Alex dashed through the less occupied streets toward the protected district, with the ogre trailing behind, dispatching any demons they crossed paths with.
