Over the course of the next eighth days, Alex continued exploring the dark and mysterious corners of the city ruins untouched in centuries, and each day was a thrilling adventure filled with battles, discoveries, and moments of excitement.

During the first two days, Alex focused on completely updating the map of his city section and marketing all the significant places that could hold the blueprints while noting down the specific regions where powerful creatures roamed.

As he explored the ruins, he discovered hidden chambers, underground catacombs, and long-forgotten major facilities, with each area having a myriad of unique and dangerous foes dwelling in them.

After the map was fully updated, Alex went straight to one of the biggest structures in the city, a half-buried colossal building, its ancient walls adorned with glowing crystals that provided a dim but eerie light.

The building was infested with a swarm of nocturnal bats, pesky little creatures, and hard to deal with, as they possessed extremely high speed, attacked in vast numbers, and utilized poison and sonic attacks with their added razor-sharp claws and teeth.

It took some time, but Alex was able to clear the bat colony and was paid handsomely for his effort as the building was a form of library and other than a vast number of documents he was unable to decipher, he uncovered ancient spells, magic scrolls, and grimoires containing lost knowledge and forgotten magic.

Alex explored several other places in the following four days, but he discovered nothing of value and still had

On the fifth day, Alex stumbled upon an underground passage that led to a hidden garden or, precisely, a place that was a garden centuries ago but now was overgrown with twisted dark nature plants while also being the home of a massive colony of shadowy Mirage Serpents.

Alex spent the next two days raiding the twisted garden with the help of his summon because the place was overflowing with creatures of the fourth Rank, a great source of quick leveling.

The garden proved to be a great place as Alex not only gained a few fast levels but also gathered a large number of unique alchemy materials of dark nature that were hard to buy, even from the alchemy guild.

Alex continued raiding every place on his list to locate the blueprints, and on the eighth day, he found his way to the ruins of one of the towering structures, with its grandeur still evident, even in its state of decay.

Alex started exploring its decaying chambers, quickly locating remnants of intricate machinery and gears, realizing that this place could be the one to hold the blueprints he wanted.

Alex searched the chambers, finding some complete and incomplete blueprints, and eventually made his way to the central and final chamber but stopped in his tract after seeing the creature guarding the place.

A massive mechanical creature standing forty feet tall with six arms, each carrying a different weapon, its appearance a fusion of metal and magic, was adorned with intricate engravings, glowing runes, and a pair of soulless eyes that had no sign of light.

Now at the current moment, Alex stood in pitch darkness staring at the towering metal guardians, using his unique eyes hoping to see something good, but all he saw was the guardian core brimming with a vast amount of Mana radiating like such in his black and gray world.

'There is a great possibility that I can beat him if I can summon someone half as good as Nyla, but it still not going to be an easy battle with those skills in his arsenal,' Alex thought, checking the status of the guardian.

It houses an Artificial Mana Core, also its source of life that empowers it to wield Mana and unleash pre-recorded magic spells with devastating precision.

Alex had stats that would even put an early-stage Fifth Rank warrior to shame, but he still had no chance of defeating a middle-stage Fifth Rank warrior, let alone one at the peak, even by using the Ruler pride skill and summoning an early Fifth Rank Elemental.

But the battle puppet was a different deal as even though a peak Fifth Rank, it only held the capabilities of an early-stage Fifth Rank warrior with no ability to think for himself, making it nothing but a mindless brute forged to rain destruction.

The puppet was very good for its purpose, but with all the restrictions, if luck was on Alex's side, he had a great chance of taking the mechanical giant down.

'Let's take care of this tin can,' Alex thought as he left the area.

Alex arrived outside the building and used the Ruler Pride skill pushing all his skills to one Rank higher, including his Summon Elemental skill which now could be used to summon a peak fifth Rank elemental.

But sadly, Alex didn't have enough Mana to summon an elemental of such scale, which was a bit funny seeing his greatest fort was Mana and was at a ridiculous number compared to any individual.

The newly promoted Summon Elemental skill had some of its information and features sealed, causing Alex to experience a momentary unease.

The prospect of summoning a creature with two major Ranks above him left him with a lingering sense of uncertainty, fearing that unforeseen consequences could arise.

But he shook it off, knowing, like every individual, each skill experienced a major change after advancing to the fourth Rank.

Alex used the skill burning through the majority of mana, and instantly a poll of pitch darkness that stretched for a few hundred meters in a circle appeared before him that appeared eerie under the shimmering glow of the red energy barrier.

The dark pool slowly shrank as time passed, and after three minutes of silence, the dark pool was just a fraction of its starting size, and in its center was a small lump formed that quickly dissolved, leaving behind the summoned elemental.

'What *** ****' Alex thought, looking at the summoned elemental, who stood four feet tall with an overly hunched back, covered in tattered rags and holding a small green walking cane.

The creature had overly green skin, his back was covered with dark spots, his spine was protruding out a few inches like spikes, and his physique was that of an elderly man.

The thing that made Alex curse was the creature's appearance, as he had a long nose, giant murky red eyes, and his face was filled with wrinkles and had a giant creepy smile showing his yellow razor-sharp teeth.

The creature's aura was extremely disturbing pungent, and gloomy, like death, but different, and even though it was not directed at him, Alex was ready to cancel the summon at the slightest danger.

'He is stronger than most early-stage fifth Rank creatures, and the elements he wields explain his eerie aura,' Alex thought, checking the elemental status.

"Summoner, What do you wish of me?" Malgrix spoke, his voice being eerie and broken, creating an unsettling effect.

"I need you to assist me in defeating a mechanical guardian inside that building," Alex said, pointing to his back while keeping his eyes on him.

"Ah, a challenge! I shall aid you in your endeavor, summoner," Malgrix said, its voice filled with excitement, and his disturbing aura flared.

'I can't trust him, but he doesn't seem to hold hostility toward me, and sending him back will require me to wait twenty-four hours for the skill cooldown to be over,' Alex thought, contemplating what he should do.

"When Do We Start the Battle," Malgrix said, appearing before Alex in a flash.

'Let's Do it,' Alex thought, making up his mind.

Alex felt a surge of excitement, knowing he was about to face the most formidable opponent to date as he led the way, with Malgrix following right behind him.
