The Noble stopped Alex with the intention of starting a friendship as he had learned that he was a high-ranking guild member, but because of that, his biggest secret was revealed.
'I was planning to kill one of the demon slaves to get some answers, and now I have a target, but something is unsettling about that guy as he gives me that feeling of danger.' Alex thought, trying to understand his emotions.
Alex had a small conversation with the Hirkon Saurwolf, and in that small time frame, he could sense the man was dangerous even though he could see he was no stronger than an average third Rank.
Alex trusted his intuition greatly because, in his past life, it saved him from getting into many bad situations, and in this life, it was no different.
After returning in time, Alex didn't want to pick the Darkness Ruler legacy as it was a necromancer legacy and not even one of the strongest, but he wanted something better.
Alex trusted Chronos' advice, but with his knowledge of legacies of high caliber, his rational side just wanted to take the guaranteed best and not something unknown.
At that point, it was his intuition that stopped him from picking any other stronger dark legacy and going for the darkness Ruler legacy.
"Elder Darrien, what is unique about that Noble other than him being a Slave?" Alex said as he walked toward his next destination.
"There are two categories of Demon slaves, which have few branches and are the most common ones, and then there are rare ones called Embodiments." Elder Darrien said after a moment of silence.
"The first category is an individual being any form of Slave to a Demon which in turn gives slaved individuals a portion of demons strength and talent or something else he wants, but as the cost, they lose their right to everything."
"A Slave individual is nothing more dog of a demon to do the bidding and, in the end, become a vessel that the demon would possess in case his real body is destroyed."
"The second category has few names, and one of them is called champions who are individuals chosen by High Ranking Noble Demons to be groomed as their chosen commanders in their Royal Blood games."
"The champions are slaves as their contracted demon could possess their body and tell them to do their bidding, but that rarely happens as their contractors are strongest of the Demon Race."
"The person you met inside was one such champion, and he should be very recently contracted as he doesn't have the mean to hide his rich demonic aura and mask his secrets." Elder Darrien said and went silent.
'The demons are more complicated and special than I thought and have some broken abilities.' Alex thought, surprised by the new info.
"I felt danger from him, but he had nothing special that I could tell from my appraisal," Alex asked the question troubling him.
"Your intuition is good to have sensed danger from him because he is weak, but the Demon Noble protects him, and if his life is in danger, the demon will possess him to save his champion." Elder Darrien replied.
"I learned from a not-so-trustable source that once demons possess their slave bodies, they cant return to their original bodies," Alex said.
Alex was talking out loud even though he was walking through very crowded streets because, as he knew, Elder Darrien had placed an isolation barrier the moment their conversation started.
"If A demon possesses a slave, it is a one-way trip, but a champion is different, and the Demon could use his champion as a vessel for a short period without any consequences." Elder Darrien said.
'Now that we are talking about demons, I might as well ask about my doubts, as this is a better time than asking him in a training session.' Alex thought.
"Elder Darrien, I got some information about Demons from the Castle Hidden Dungeon that I cleared, and I have a doubt, so please help me with it," Alex said and then told him what he knew about demons.
"So I want to ask if all demons could possess their slaves' bodies," Alex asked.
"The Demon Contract is a Bloodline ability that only Demons who had entered the Elementalist Rank or the Fourth Rank with a pure bloodline will awaken,"
"Even among them, only those who had reached a second or the upper stage of the ability could forcefully possess their slave's body." Elder Darrien said.
"Elder Darion, do you know if an individual possessed by a demon would count toward my Ruler Authority quest?" Alex asked the next big question.
"I don't know, but there is a high possibility that it would count as the soul does belong to the Demon." Elder Darrien replied.
'I still have many questions, like what are the Royal Blood games, but I know the jist of how things work, and for now, any more information is unnecessary.' Alex thought, deciding not to ask any more questions.
'Now I possibly have a better alternative to hunting demons other than finding the minority of demons present outside the demon continent and waiting more than a year for the demon invasion.'
'I just need to find out if I could recognize a person who had his body possessed by a demon and if killing him would count toward my Ruler Authority quest.'
'The only way to get the information I want would be by joining the Demonic Cult, but I need a perfect disguise because I don't think my disguise from the Daunting Reality would be good enough to fool a secret cult.' Alex thought.
'Let's worry about the demons after I am done with the third Rank promotion and first Domain mission.' Alex thought as he entered the teleportation building.
