41 A newborn
A young fair man with large glasses and a spotless white coat stood before him, his facial features which carried an air of I know it all almost made Derek land a punch on him. A knowing smile appeared on his face as Derek felt a cold shiver seeing the guy's eyes filled with a such strange light. It felt as if he was looking at a child or especially a newborn ready to Learn about the world.
"It's been long since I saw a clueless newborn like you, people like you are rare since almost every teleporter has an affiliated organization, tsk those tyrants!
Well for starters newborns are those who just unlocked their dark Genes, breaking away from the binding restrictions posed on them by their race, do you understand" Will said while describing with his arms, he stared at the black-haired man and waited for his confirmation but the guy just stared back at him with equally wide eyes.
"You're a newborn" Will hollered and Derek nodded, "why are we called newborns not something like maybe awakeners." Derek queried.
"Yes! finally somebody wants my knowledge!" Will shouted with both arms waving erratically in the air, he turned back and four men were staring at both Derek and Will with bewildered eyes.
Two of them were middle-aged men in lab coats while the other was Christopher and Luke. "Take him to the G.S.M" The first scientist spoke with a fluent tone.
Will nodded and pushed Derek towards a huge machine that had a round hole in the middle, "wait, wait! I'm still cuffed!" Derek yelled but Will ignored him and pressed a button Derek slid into the machine and it closed.
Twenty minutes later, Derek stood alongside Will, as they both stared at the holovision which currently had Derek's test results displayed in bold white color.
Will squinted, Derek's results were a far cry from what he was expecting. He expected a critical situation from what he was told but Derek's results were super good, he was perfectly healthy with no obvious nor hidden side effects.
"So why did you force me to undergo this test?"
Will exhaled loudly when he heard Derek's question, "Derek do you know what is Genoforce and why new teleporters are called newborns?"
Derek stared at the slim fair youth "I do" he said sarcastically and walked towards the comfy couch a few steps away from him. They were in a room at least 200 square feet with a massive holovision and cool dark lighting to match.
Will waved his arm and a different subject popped out, his fingers made some movements and the image enlarged till the tiny image became clearer and more detailed.
A transparent human structure appeared on the holovision, black vein-like pattern ran through every part of the image. Derek sat upright and stared at the holovision intensely "all newborn teleporters experience an unbearable pain the night they awaken, certain cells in their body complete their mutation causing great pain to the homo sapiens. Internally their cellular structure will be undergoing a huge change, so scientifically teleporters are no longer humans, Are you following?" Will questioned when he saw Derek slump against the couch.
"Yeah" Derek muttered with a relaxed face whereas internally he was in massive turmoil, he didn't experience any pain, does this mean he's not a teleporter but he could teleport, he also possessed a medium. Wait he had two mediums, were those two even mediums? was he even a teleporter? Different thoughts crashed together causing a nuclear explosion within Derek's mind.
Will waved his arm and the screen turned off, Derek was about to question him when he saw Will grab a tiny black pyramid object and throw it to the ground.
A large hologram appeared; a translucent human made of countless data was shown running with a dagger in his right hand, a transparent water-like layer covered every part of his body and it rippled with every movement the hologram made.
Derek stood up and gawked at the hologram with wide eyes, he turned to Will and Will could see questions written in his deep black eyes.
"That hologram is an icon of a teleporter and that layer you see is Genoforce... Shocking huh!"
"So do I have one?" Derek queried, he didn't bother about others right now what he wanted to know was if he was clear. He almost forgot something "what's the job of the Genoforce?"
"Ha!... Could you please let me finish, I don't like being interrupted so could you do me a favor and sit down like the newborn you are!"
Upon hearing William's outburst, Derek pressed his lips and exhaled slowly, though William's words were normal to him, he could feel something gnawing deep within him, and should it come out... Gleaming silverish light flashed through his eyes.
"Please" Derek sat down when he heard Will add the magic word "you didn't need to, I would have sat down anyways".
'yeah you would after I'm dead' William scoffed inwardly, he felt the instant drop in temperature, and for sure that silver flash told him the source.
But as a talking freak, he wouldn't leave such attentive ears, so he continued "when a teleporter awakens they can't warp till their body has fully accepted their change, so technically an awakener needs at least a minimum of six hours before he becomes a newborn and can teleport" William said with a smugly, he was proud of his knowledge though most people know this, it was a great thing to see someone like Derek who doesn't know a thing!.
"I don't think I needed to know this stuff I just want to know about Genoforce", Derek said softly, he didn't even want to think about the fact that he instantly teleported when he got his dagger, he was beginning to feel a serious headache, being different was not his thing. Well possessing two daggers a teleporter when he warps..."

"Teleporters are always in constant displacements, their movements through space can't be was not that different until he found out his daggers weren't normal, his awakening was different, and even the time duration!
The more he knew the lesser he wanted to know, though his difference may guarantee his ability to revenge, the fact that he was this different would attract more than one organization, he couldn't even handle one and that organization probably wasn't top, so how was he supposed to handle such powerful organizations and the government hasn't been involved!.
"I never liked Ben Ford's face, his like a robot always speaking about our betterment when we struggled to live!" Derek muttered but in the end, his voice got louder as he couldn't keep his emotions in check.
"What are you talking about?" William queried with raised brows.
"Nothing serious" Derek shrugged it off and William continued. "So after fully awakening, the normal cells mutate and can produce blood faster than a normal cell and those dark cells produce Genoforce instead of blood, Genoforce is a new property for a teleporter's structure. It's like armor that protects a teleporter when he warps..."
"Teleporters are always in constant displacements, their movements through space can't be recorded nor specified they're like fantasy space beings.." William paused to see Derek's reaction.
"Cool movie, but I don't like Leon" Derek chortled.
"Me too, I can't believe that guy couldn't shoot that last deciding shot what a p****" William scowled.
Suddenly they both heard a female voice "watch your language, William".
William trembled while Derek looked around and sighted a small device at the ceiling, it seems like William was under close watch.
"Ahem.." William coughed and continued "though teleporters have new cells it doesn't change the fact that they are still human and our bodies weren't made to withstand such raw void movement.." he couldn't continue as Derek spoke.
"Raw.. cool word"
"I feel like we could become close friends" William chortled.
"Eh... I won't count on that" Derek said but William shrugged it off.
"Okay, let me finish, without Genoforce a teleporter could damage him/herself when he warps.."
"But you just said teleporters have Genoforce how can they lose it?" Derek queried with visible lines forming on his forehead, does this mean teleporters had a restriction he didn't know about?
