Chapter 1344 Don't Come Back

"Why are you both standing at the side of the road like two fools?" Mu Chenyan looked up and saw Raelle leaning against her car looking at the two of them. She waved at them with her picture-perfect fake smile playing on her lips.

"What are you doing here?" asked Mu Chenyan. "Didn't you go home?"

"I have to collect some documents from the office. But on the way, I stopped here to see you guys and send my blessing to the newlyweds. Did you get the marriage certificate?" asked Raelle.

Mu Chenyan waved the red marriage certificate in her hand.

Raelle walked over to them and said, "Congratulations to the both of you! You're officially married. Now, Yanyan has the official right to bully her husband and Uncle Zhao can finally tie Yanyan to his side. I guess it's a win-win for both of you, eh? You must be thrilled."

"Do you know how to talk?" asked Mu Chenyan.

"You didn't teach me," replied Raelle. Seeing Mu Chenyan's expression, she stopped right there. "Okay, I just wanted to be the first one to see the married Mu Chenyan. And I also wanted to see what the supposed glow of a new bride looks like. Now, I'm done with it. So, I'll take my leave now."

"You really came all the way here for this?" asked Mu Chenyan in surprise.

Raelle looked back at her and thought about it for a moment before saying, "Yeah. But I can also be of some use to you right now."

"What?"

"I can click the first photo of you guys as a married couple," replied Raelle. "I know that's what I did when I got my marriage certificate. But of course, it wasn't to keep a memory of that time but it was rather a task you assigned to me so that you'd believe that I really got married."

Xia Zhao took his phone and gave it to Raelle, "Then I'd trouble you."

Raelle took the phone from his hand saying, "I can take this much trouble for my Yanyan's sake. I don't mind." Saying that she adjusted the camera angle and checked the light before looking at the two of them. "Just now, you're so sticky. Why are you standing so far right now? Did you have a fight? Did you stand that far for your marriage certificate picture?"

Raelle seriously took their couple photos and passed the phone back.

"I seem to have started doing useless things too," she muttered to herself. She was seriously going to the office because she had an important document to collect. It could be delivered at home but she just wanted to take this chance to go to the office even if it was close to closing time. But who knows what came to her mind to actually stop in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau. Obviously, she didn't regret stopping here after seeing the happiness bursting around Mu Chenyan's whole self. "I'm gonna go now," said Raelle. "I'll buy you guys a wedding gift later."

"There is no need for that," said Xia Zhao.

"Why is there no need?" asked Raelle. "There is a need. It's gonna be a little difficult for me to decide what to buy though. So, how about you both give me a hint? Help me out a little. After all, I'm not that good at these formalities."

"That's why he said, there is no need," said Mu Chenyan.

"I'll just ask Opa," said Raelle. "You both are not being very helpful right now. I'm going. Enjoy your first evening being married. You have my blessings. Bye!"

Seeing her getting into the car and driving away, Xia Zhao said, "She came here for you."

Mu Chenyan hummed in response. Of course, she knew Raelle came here for her. This girl really did whatever came to her mind. Sending blessings? What the hell! When did Raelle Xiang start sending blessings to others? It was such a surprise but it made her heart warm too.

Just these random acts of hers were the reason that made Mu Chenyan believe that she didn't fail in raising a proud daughter. These things gave Raelle a human touch which was getting better and better now than ever before.

"How about we go home now?" suggested Xia Zhao. "Now, you can definitely stay at my house. Because that's also your home now. So, shall we go to our home?"

"Wait!" Mu Chenyan rubbed her brows. "Do you mean now I have to live with you at your place?"

Xia Zhao touched his chin, "It's our place now."

"No! You mean I'm supposed to go with you?"

"Yeah. You did not think about this before asking me to get the marriage certificate, did you?"

Mu Chenyan shook her head, "I didn't. I didn't think of anything. All I had in mind was that, I wanted to test you and tease you a little. You got serious and then I just went with the flow and now we are here."

Xia Zhao was not even surprised by her words. Not even one bit. He could tell from the beginning what she had in mind and he purposely didn't remind her that after marriage they had to live together. Well, he also had his own selfishness involved in hiding this from her for a while. And his purpose was achieved. Who knew his marriage would be so flash forward kind?

"I can't go back to Xiang Manor," she muttered to herself.

"You know, it's not that serious," said Xia Zhao. "Why can't you go back? It's your home. Your family. Who would stop you from going back there?"

"Right? No one can stop me. I'm still part of the family, right?"

Before Xia Zhao could answer, Mu Chenyan's phone rang. She rummaged it out of her pocket and answered the call, "Elder Xiang, what's wrong?"

"Congratulations on getting married, my dear daughter!" came Grandfather Xiang's voice from the other side. "Raelle told me that you have received the marriage certificate. I can't tell you how happy I am right now. But that doesn't mean, I will allow you to get away with just registering your marriage legally. I still have to walk my daughter down the aisle. Or I'd keep feeling like something is missing."

"What are you talking about? How about we don't walk down the aisle, eh? That way, I can still be your daughter and not be the married daughter."

"Are you scared, sweetie? What for? You'd always be my daughter. Married or not. Did you change your feelings for Raelle once she got married?"

"No," she replied. "She is still me Elle. Nothing changed except that now, we don't live together."

"Exactly! Nothing is changing here too. In your case, this house is yours. This family will always be yours. What are you worried about? Stop scaring yourself so much."

"I think I really am scaring myself," said Mu Chenyan. "Anyway, I'm not going anywhere, leaving you. And we have to live together than Zhao can come to live with us."

"Tsk. You..." Grandfather Xiang didn't know what to say to her but he wasn't particularly surprised by her reaction too. He knew what she was like. How could it be possible for her to accept this situation so soon? She just impulsively chose to get married. That was already a huge surprise for everyone. "Fine! Stop talking so much. Go with Zhao for now! Don't dare come back tonight!" With that, he hung up.

Mu Chenyan was left looking at her phone. She scratched her head, "He told me to not come back tonight." She looked at Xia Zhao and said, "I'm telling you, you have to follow me!"

Xia Zhao gave her a smile and nodded, "I'll follow you anywhere. You don't wanna live at my place, we'll go to yours. Is that alright?"

"Sounds better," she replied.

"Then shall we go back home now?" asked Xia Zhao. "I have something to give you. Something very important and that's at home. Can we go?"

"Yeah, sure," she agreed and got into the car with him. She fastened the seatbelt and leaned back. She suddenly had so many things rushing into her mind but she could only shake her head to empty it. Because she didn't want to think so much anymore. What's the point? She already got herself into this marriage!

"Yanzi!"

"Hm?"

"Nothing really changed except for our relationship status," told Xia Zhao. "You're still the same Mu Chenyan and I'm still the same Xia Zhao. The only thing changed is that now, you are legally my wife and I am your husband."

"I'm not regretting it," said Mu Chenyan. "I don't regret it even for a second. If I wanted to regret it, I wouldn't bring up the topic. I might have been a bit impulsive but it's only that I didn't consider all the other matters before making a decision. But even after all thinking, I'd still choose to marry you once I have decided."
