Chapter 1332 Officially Blind

Looking at the noisy living room, Grandfather Xiang was feeling delighted. After all, it was too silent when only the old people were at home. Only with the younger generation around, the liveliness returned and he felt content.

"Why didn't you dry your hair before coming over?" Xiang Wai touched her damp hair and shrugged, "I got impatient."

"Are you that hungry?" asked Mu Chenyan.

"Yeah," she replied. "I'm famished. Please give me something to eat."

"Sit down with them," said Mu Chenyan. "I'll bring you something."

Xiang Hulin stood up and brought a towel that he threw at his daughter's head saying, "Dry your hair. Don't get a headache later on."

"Papa, it'll dry out on its own," she whined. "I can't move. I can't even lift my arm right now."

"How are you planning on eating if you can't even lift your arm?" asked Hyson.

"Don't worry, I won't ask you for help."

"I wasn't gonna help anyway."

Xiang Wai stuck out her tongue at him while rubbing her short hair with the dry towel. By the time she was done, a bowl of fried noodles was placed in front of her. She took off the towel from her head and threw it at Xiang Weimin who just entered the room, "Ge, catch!"

Instinctively, Xiang Weimin caught the towel, and seeing Xiang Wai's proud look, he shook his head. "Learn to do your own things."

"When you're around, I don't feel like doing my own things," said Xiang Wai in response.

"Weimin, where is Justin?" asked Xiang Hulin.

"He was tired so after the shower, he fell asleep. I had to dry his hair for him," told Xiang Weimin.

"Wake him up and let him eat something light to cushion his stomach. How can he sleep on an empty stomach," said Mu Chenyan.

"We had breakfast before coming down," said Xiang Weimin.

"And after the hike down, everything is digested," retorted Mu Chenyan.

"You still don't have to worry, Aunt. Fai found so many berries for Justin on our way down. He is well-fed. So, let him sleep. When he wakes up, you can feed him whatever you want."

Mu Chenyan frowned, "Fai!"

"Yes?"

"Did you even wash the berries before giving them to Justin?"

"Yanyan, you're hurting my feelings by saying that. I'm such a clean and hygienic baby. I put all the berries in my water bottle first and only after rinsing them thoroughly did I offer them to Justin. How can I compromise on Justin's health," said Hyson.

"That's good. Good boy!" praised Mu Chenyan. And in response, Hyson smiled sheepishly.

"Good boy?" repeated Raelle as soon as she put down her spoon. "You think too highly of your godson. Do you even know what he did?"

Mu Chenyan looked at Raelle and asked, "What did he do now?"

"He picked up a dirty frog for me," told Raelle.

Mu Chenyan pursed her lips and stared at Hyson, "Fai, how can you do that? It's not like you don't know about Elle's habits. You know she gets uncomfortable with even a speck of dust on her clothes and can't relax until those clothes are off her body. How can you pick a frog and offer it to her?"

"I just wanted to show it to her," replied Hyson. "It's not like I put it on her body. In fact, in return, Xian Ge put the frog on my head but I didn't complain. Did I?"

"Who cares about your head?" asked Raelle.

"Okay, I'm hurt!"

"Go look for a doctor then."

Hyson took a deep breath and said, "Fine, it was my mistake. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable. Is that okay?"

"Well, I'll be magnanimous today and let you off."

"Thank you for your generosity."

"You're welcome," she replied. Then she pointed at Xiang Weimin, "You nephew wanted to bring a rabbit cub home to raise."

Mu Chenyan rubbed the space between her brows and turned to Xiang Weimin. "Okay, I'll say this once. Elle doesn't like small animals. Not furry ones for sure. Since you didn't know that, I won't say anything for now. But please, remember that in the future, and don't talk about having pets at home."

Xiang Weimin sighed, "I understand. It's not like I brought it home. She already scared Justin enough that he refused to bring that rabbit home. I just thought it looked cute. I didn't know Raelle didn't like small animals."

"She doesn't like any small creatures. Worms, insects, animals, or even birds. She hates everyone," said Hyson.

"It's not hate," said Raelle.

"Yes, yes. You just don't feel comfortable with those things. Wait! You don't even feel comfortable with humans. What a miracle you are to survive until now!"

"If it was possible, the first human I'd kick out of my life would be you."

"That's impossible!" said Hyson with a cheeky grin. "Don't wanna continue? What about our Major? Don't have any complaints with her?"

"She started telling ghost stories and even claimed that she met a ghost in person. A ghost who helped her survive a very dangerous moment," said Raelle.

Mu Chenyan looked at Xiang Wai with a probing look but the latter was too immersed in eating to realize anything. She could only sigh and say, "Wai..." But she didn't continue. Then she looked back at Raelle, "Your sister was just trying to enliven the environment. Don't take things seriously. Just think they are just stories."

"Yeah but it was a serious waste of my time," said Raelle.

"It happens," said Mu Chenyan. "It's okay to waste some time in life. We aren't in a race. So, nothing too serious here. Just relax."

"Why don't you complain about Xian Ge?" asked Hyson. "What's there to complain about?"

"Tsk. Tsk." was Hyson's response to that. "You're so partial. We all did something wrong but Xian Ge is the most innocent one, eh?"

"Of course," she replied.

"Okay, my best friend is officially blind these days," commented Hyson.
