Chapter 1315 Peaceful Age

With this beautiful thought, Xiang Wai's dream of treasure hunting was shattered instantly. She was really fooled by this fool! And the worst part was that she took the initiative to fall for his tricks. Hyson stood in front of all of them and clapped his hands to get their attention as he said, "Listen everyone! Now, put down the little things you brought and go pick up your tents and set them up."

"We have to set that up?" asked Raelle.

"Ellie, this is especially for you," said Hyson.

"Me?"

"Yes. You see, everyone else here knows how to set up a tent except you."

Raelle looked at everyone and settled her eyes on her husband who scratched his nose and smiled sheepishly, "I do know, honey."

Finally, she moved her eyes to Justin and said, "He doesn't know too."

"Aren't you ashamed to compare yourself with a five-year-old?" asked Hyson.

"You are making me sound like I can't do anything," said Raelle. "Ellie, you were raised like a real princess by Yanyan. So, you always had finished products at your arm's length. You did not have to go through the process. This... This is a real experience for you."

"Why can't I just pay someone to set this up for me?" asked Raelle.

"As I just said, go through the process and you'll understand the fun of it."

"This is a useless skill," said Raelle. "I'm not even a fan of camping. There are so many insects around. So many inconveniences too. I still can't understand people who love to go camping. I mean leaving the comfort and convenience of your cozy home, you wanna go in the wild and experience what? How to make yourself uncomfortable?"

"You talk too much. You can spend this time on better things. Like setting up the tent!" said Hyson.

Shui Xian gave these two a smile and went to pick up the tent from the camping equipment that had already been prepared in this opening before they came here. He found the parts of a wooden chair, he took it apart, and fixed it. He brought the assembled chair to his wife and said, "Wife, you sit down and relax. I'll set up our tent." He even took out a bottle of fresh juice from his bag that he carried up and offered it to her, "Drink this. You can take out a book to pass your time. I'll fix this up in no time."

"Xian Ge!" shouted Hyson in frustration. "What are you doing?"

"There is no rule that says that we both have to set up the tent. Since it's our tent, it's up to us how we set it up. I can do it alone, so why should I bother my wife with these cumbersome things?"

"Spoil her! You just keep spoiling her as if she isn't spoiled enough."

"Some people are born to be spoiled. And I'm willing to pamper my wife. What's wrong with that? Once you find your life partner, you'll understand that too."

"I'm not interested," said Hyson hatefully before going to set up his own tent. But only then did he realize that Xiang Weimin and Xiang Wai had already started working while he was arguing with Raelle and from the looks of it, they were halfway done too. Well, it wasn't surprising. For them, it must be a very common thing to set up a tent. Basic survival skills.

Raelle heard everything that Shui Xian said to Hyson with interest and kept staring at him as he worked with undivided attention. He wasn't as fast as Xiang Wai and Xiang Weimin but it could be seen that he had experience. Raelle sipped on the juice and instead of taking out a book, she focused on him. She was watching how he set up the tent, how he set up their sleeping place inside and set up some basic furniture. She didn't know there were so many fancy camping equipment around these days.

Shui Xian went to wash his hands with water and came back to ask Raelle, "How is it? I did a good job?"

Raelle gave him a thumbs-up. "You seem to be experienced."

"I do have some experience. Back in college, our friends group would go out on camping together. So, I know all this stuff. I guess it came in handy now."

Raelle nodded her head in understanding. "What are we eating now?" asked Shui Xian. "Can we make something simple first? We'll catch the fish later for dinner." He pointed at Justin as he said, "Justin must be starving by now too."

"I am also hungry," said Justin in response.

"Good thing, I brought some food for emergencies," said Hyson. "All we have to do is just cook it for a little bit."

"Just say you brought ready-to-cook meals because you don't know how to cook," Xiang Wai pointed out.

"HA!" came Raelle's voice. "You've been pointing fingers at me. What about you? You also can't cook just like me. Who is the spoiled one now?"

"I'm still more useful than you, Ellie."

"How? You put me anywhere, I can make money!" "Imagine, just imagine that one day you wake up and it's the apocalypse. Do you think your money is gonna help? I don't think so."

"It can help in buying supplies."

"Only if you already know about the apocalypse. If it comes suddenly, no one would give a damn about the money."

"We live in a peaceful age," reminded Raelle.

"But you never know what is gonna happen tomorrow."

"If that is so, go over there and learn to cook."

"You should do that too!"

"I don't feel like it now," said Raelle. "Anyway, my husband said what if I got hurt?"

"What are you porcelain?"

"At least, I'm precious!"

Xiang Wai sighed to herself seeing these two, "Oh my gosh! These two can really have a conversation that doesn't even make any sense. I can expect it from Fai but not from my sister."
