Chapter 1314 Camp Treasure

Xiang Wai took Justin to sit down on a rock to rest and started talking to him. "Dear nephew, by now, you should understand that the only fun person in this family is me."

"What about Uncle Fai?" asked Justin.

"He is the entertainer of the family. Don't have high hopes," said Xiang Wai without any burden. "But me? I am the one who lived the most colorful life in this family. I might not have the talent for storytelling but I have a lot of stories to share. Fun and exciting stories. All come from personal experience. Your father is a man of few words. He had never had fun even when he was young and the same is true for your little aunt. Your father spent time honing his skills to become a better soldier and your little aunt focused on books to become a cunning businesswoman. I, on the other hand, might be a soldier but before that, I was young. My youth stories are unmatchable. So, if you want to have fun in the future, you gotta have some close partnership with me. Only I can teach you what's fun."

"What nonsense are you teaching my son now?" asked Xiang Weimin.

"Ge, she said only she is fun in this family and only she can be Justin's best partner in crime," told Hyson.

"I didn't get to the part of being the best partner in crime yet," added Xiang Wai.

"But that was what you meant," said Hyson and Xiang Wai couldn't refute his words.

"You have done all the wrong things in life, what do you want my son to do?"

"It's because I have done so much that I can be a better tutor. I have experience so I can teach him better. I can show him the right path and I can even explain to him in detail why the wrong path is wrong in the first place."

"Someone is very eloquent today," commented Hyson.

"You don't have to compliment me like this."

"I wasn't."

Xiang Wai narrowed her eyes at him and he gave a smile in return. "By the way, why are you guys so slow? If we kept stopping to rest like this when would we get to our destination?" asked Raelle.

"This isn't a competition," said Hyson. "It's a leisurely and fun mountain hike. There is no need to be so serious about it, Ellie."

"I am serious about everything in life," reminded Raelle to her best friend who seemed to have forgotten for some reason.

"I wish you were this serious about our friendship too."

"Don't continue or I might accidentally push you down."

Hyson took an exaggerated step back, "You wanna murder me to silence me so that people can't know what you really are! I won't let that happen. Ever! Dream on, you evil fairy!"

"Evil fairy?" asked Shui Xian.

"I can't call her a monster or a demon now. No matter what, I can't go against my conscience and say that she is ugly. And only fairies are beautiful." Hyson sounded so reasonable that he felt like patting his own shoulder for his own logic. What a beautiful logic he had!

"But the story I read last time said demons are also very beautiful. Like fox spirits," said Justin in his childish voice.

Hyson paused and had a moment to himself to think before nodding his head, "This is also right. Fox spirits are after human essence. I won't say my best friend is that bad now. At most, she likes to eat my brain but nothing more than that."

"It's me who eats your brain or you who eats mine?" asked Raelle

"It's all the same," responded Hyson.

"Oh my gosh! I found a wintersweet tree!" came Xiang Wai's voice.

"That's something to be happy about? This isn't even the season for winter's sweet flowers to bloom. So, why are you so happy, Major?" asked Hyson.

"Why can't I be excited about this?" asked Xiang Wai. "I feel like I accomplished something. Even if it's a small thing. Anyway, it's been a while since I saw a wintersweet tree. Sadly, it isn't the blossoming season. They look so beautiful when they bloom covered in snow."

"Wait, I'm already surprised that you even know about wintersweet tree," said Hyson. "You don't seem to be interested in flowers."

"I don't wanna talk to you," said Xiang Wai.

"How far are we from here?" asked Shui Xian. "I hear the sound of water nearby. If it's far, let's make a stop near the spring and find some fish to grill. What do you guys say?"

"Xian Ge, are you hungry?"

"Very," answered Shui Xian without any hesitation. "Why? I can't be hungry now?"

"I was just asking. Anyway, you don't have to take a break. If you are able to hear the sound of the water, we are already close to our destination then," responded Hyson.

"That's good," said Shui Xian. "Then let's hurry up and stop dawdling. We can rest once we get there."

They started walking up the trail again and got closer and closer to the sound of the water. Finally, when they came to an opening and were able to see the water flowing down. "We are finally at our destination," announced Hyson. "Welcome everyone to Camp Treasure!"

"Where is the treasure?" asked Xiang Wai.

"Sis, really?"

"Why else did I come with you?"

"You are impatient," retorted Hyson.

"And I am feeling like you fooled me."

"I didn't invite you to this camping trip either," reminded Hyson. "It's you got greedy and wanted to join."

"Are you saying, I'm at fault here?" asked Xiang Wai.

"Don't you think so? Everyone knows greed is a curse. But you had been focused on the treasure since the beginning. Think about the time you spent bonding with your nephew. Isn't that more precious than any treasure?"

Xiang Wai so wanted to argue with him but what he said was so beautiful that she couldn't bring herself to say anything else. Forget it. He was right anyway.
