Chapter 1312 Make It Short

The group of them continued their journey with Hyson's voice gently explaining the origin of even wild plants to Justin patiently. Fortunately for Hyson, the others didn't mind. Even if there wasn't anything interesting around them, they didn't mind since Justin seemed to be having fun. This kid's interest was high today and he had so many questions. But then again, he always had questions. But before, he was just a bit shy. Now, he didn't mind asking whatever came to his mind. "How far are we going?" asked Xiang Wai.

"We didn't walk that far yet," came Raelle's response.

"But the ground is not easy to walk after the rain yesterday. Of course, I'd feel like we had walked for way too long."

"No, we just started an hour ago," replied Raelle.

"Oh, mushrooms!" came Hyson's voice.

"Be careful, they can be poisonous," reminded Xiang Weimin.

"Ge, I know that," said Hyson. "I know which ones are edible and I know how to recognize the poisonous ones."

"Doesn't everyone know that?" asked Raelle. "I also read a lot about it in books. And yes, I do know that it's just a myth that the brighter the color of the mushroom, the more poisonous it is."

"Oh, how knowledgable," said Hyson sarcastically. "Keep your theoretical knowledge to yourself. I don't think we need it here. I have said so many times that things on paper and reality are different. Just because you know some theoretical facts, you ain't an expert. Especially when you never even went mushroom foraging. So, don't mislead the kid here."

"Are you insulting my knowledge?"

"No, I am just telling you to not act like an expert when it's not your field of expertise," replied Hyson. Then he ignored Raelle and put Justin down to look at the mushrooms. He imparted all his knowledge of mushroom foraging to Justin in a low voice.

"There is no doubt, he can survive in the wild," said Xiang Weimin.

"What's the use?" asked Raelle. "We don't live in the wild. We don't depend on the wild to live anymore either."

"Too much knowledge doesn't hurt," said Shui Xian. "Isn't that what you say, Wife?"

"Yes," agreed Raelle. "But I certainly don't see a point in why we are here looking for mushrooms. If I'm not wrong, we came on a treasure hunt."

"I thought you weren't interested in the treasure," Xiang Wai pointed out.

"I am not. But I'm not interested in whatever this is either."

"Just go with the flow," said Shui Xian as he patted her shoulder. "Come, we'll look at the beauty of nature. After the rain, the trees always have a different vitality. As if they have come alive. Listen to the silence in the woods. Then focus on the distant echoing of the chirping of birds. Don't you see how beautiful it is?"

Raelle followed his words and found that the woods seemed to have their own beauty to it. However, most of all, her attention was on Shui Xian's excited face as he spoke.

"Why are you looking at me? I told you to look at nature. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Feel it."

"Nah. I think you look more beautiful," responded Raelle straightforwardly leaving Shui Xian speechless for a moment.

He pursed his lips and cleared his throat before saying, "Can we focus?"

"I am very focused right now," was her answer.

Feeling her burning eyes, Shui Xian rubbed his forehead and said, "Baby, stop looking at me like that. Because if you keep this up, I really won't be able to look anywhere else."

"Why?" she asked.

Shui Xian hugged her waist and touched his forehead with hers saying, "Because how can there be anything more beautiful than you around here?"

"I also think so," she replied. Looking at their flirting, Xiang Wai made a face and said, "I hate this trip."

Xiang Weimin smiled at his sister and said, "Who told you to come?"

"I came for the treasure."

"You have done so many treasure hunts in life," reminded Xiang Weimin. "Aren't you bored already?"

"That's for work. And I didn't even get to pocket a single gold biscuit," said Xiang Wai resentfully. "And you think just because you didn't pocket anything, the other team members were also that honest?" asked Xiang Weimin.

"They weren't. So, I made them go through a body search," she had an evil smile on her face, looking quite proud of herself right now.

"I'd expect something like that from you. It's no wonder your team always has some displeasure with you."

"We are working for the country. How can they only think about themselves? I have a very clear conscience."

"Auntie, you have treasures?"

Xiang Wai looked at Justin who was holding a bunch of mushrooms in his handkerchief and looked up at her curiously. Thinking that she was finally getting some attention from her adorable nephew, she was so excited. She calmed down herself and replied, "Yes. Auntie has gone on plenty of treasure hunts."

"Really?" asked Justin.

"Yeah. Well, most of those treasures were of course some sensitive information or stuff but Auntie has also found gold and jewels."

"Where?"

"Oh, it's a long story," said Xiang Wai.

"Then make it short and interesting for the kid," came Raelle's voice.

Xiang Wai's lips twitched as she looked at her sister hatefully.

"I have no experience telling stories to kids."

"If you won't try how will you learn?" asked Raelle.

"I really wish no one has to deal with a sister like you," said Xiang Wai.

"Don't worry. No one is as lucky as you are."

Xiang Wai snorted at that response. She really wanted to bite off something right now in anger. Why was her sister so annoying? So not cute!

"Well, she isn't exactly wrong," came Hyson's voice. "There can't be another Raelle. And even if there is, she can't be as annoying as her either. We are indeed lucky to have you, Ellie!"

"As long as you know that, Hyson!"
