Chapter 57: She Drank It
After hearing this voice, Su Yu turned around and was shocked to see that Lin Sisi was the one speaking.
Lin Sisi walked up to her and nodded at her.
Su Yu froze for a moment before she nodded back.
Why was Lin Sisi here?
Or, was she actually speaking up for her?
Su Yu found it hard to believe, but she suddenly remembered the evidence she had sent her. It was understandable; she must have found out the truth by now.
“This is a socialite’s ball, not a place for a nouveau riche. How vulgar.”
“That’s right. The bodyguards around her are so cruel. How could they do this to a beggar?”
“A person like that doesn’t deserve to be here. I think we should vote on her to leave.”
The crowd discussed amongst themselves, but no one knew who started it.
Su Yu looked at them with disdain. She didn’t want to lower herself to their level, so she turned around and prepared to walk in.
“Stop right there. I think Miss Su should apologize to that beggar. Otherwise, she doesn’t have the right to stay here.”
The person who spoke was the daughter of the Li family, Li Yun. Su Yu was familiar with her and had met her once before.
“What if I say no?” Su Yu chuckled.
She was beginning to regret coming to this party. Birds of a feather flock together.
There were all peas in a pod. There was no telling how shady they were in private, yet they criticized others.
Why didn’t they interrupt when the beggar was throwing a tantrum?
Did they really think that she was a saint? How dare they criticize her so patronizingly?
“You! I’ve never seen someone as unreasonable as you!”
Li Yun was obviously furious and glared at Su Yu out of embarrassment.
Su Yu couldn’t understand how she was being so unreasonable?
“Since you guys don’t think I should stay here, I’ll leave. But, this party was originally meant for me. If I leave, it’ll end now,” Su Yu shrugged her shoulders innocently.
She didn’t want to stay any longer anyway, so she decided to leave.
After hearing Su Yu’s words, a lot of people glared at her and started cursing.
Su Yu felt like her ears were about to burst from all the nonsense.
Just as she was about to leave, Lin Sisi suddenly held a glass of wine in front of her.
“Miss Su, there’s no need to lower yourself to their level. No one thinks that you’re doing anything wrong. You’re doing this for our sake,” Lin Sisi said as she raised her glass.
At the same time, she beckoned for the bartender beside her and handed Su Yu a cocktail.
Lin Sisi smiled gently as she said, “Miss Su, do me a favor.”
Was Lin Sisi possessed? Why was she acting so abnormal?
Su Yu’s mouth twitched as she felt a sense of fear.
She was probably used to Lin Sisi’s usual expression, so her sudden gentleness made her uncomfortable.
