Chapter 317: Humanity’s Hope.
''RAAAAAAAAAWR!'' An painful roar of the Dragon was heard miles away. The Lightning Dragon, with unwillingness, started turning into tiny particles of lightning, turning smaller and smaller, before completely disappearing from existence.

Supreme Leader and Abyss were fighting against each other. Each blow made the ground shake and tremble in nervousness.
Abyss' face saddened as he saw his long-time partner disappearing. He knows that this will be the last time he will see him because his strength is greatly reducing, and he can't keep the Lightning Dragon's form any longer.

Now, he knows that he has a few seconds to spare his attention somewhere else, and without further ado, he tapped the ground a few times with his index finger that was coated in his lightning.

The lightning bolts told Abyss about the battle between Grandmaster Fang and some unknown figure. Their battle caused half of the mansion to be buried in ruins, and it seems that the battle won't end anytime soon.
He sighed, and his heartbeat was racing out of nervousness. He wanted to know if his son and son-in-law were doing alright, but once the lightning bolt finished telling him.
His face turned enraged and even more anxious.
''I have to help him…'' Abyss gritted his teeth and stood up with his last remaining willpower.
A pressure increased all around him, making the rest of the mansion shake and crack.
He turned his gaze back to the hole in the wall and saw Supreme Leader in the distance slowly moving towards him, with an amused smile on his face.
Abyss slowly closed his eyes, and memories flashed through his mind. It was memories of his childhood and about his long journey.
He has done things he regrets, but he also has things that he doesn't regret and would do it again if he had a chance.
''No regrets… I have no regrets…'' Abyss' eyes slowly opened, and it was like his eyes were two pairs of stars, shining light on mortal souls.
First time in his life, he exactly knew how his journey was going to end. Many in his position wouldn't do it because everyone who has reached Abyss' level would think that their lives are more important than anyone else's
But… Abyss knows that the future of the world lies on the shoulders of the two black-haired young men.
''Maybe… This was destiny…'' His legs started crackling in lightning, and soon, his body started floating, making the floor underneath turn shades into black.

''Humanity's Hope…'' Abyss sighed and remembered when he received the title.
It has been said that Humanity's Hope is to ensure a safe future for the younger generation and help Humanity to survive.
He has always thought that he had failed in that, but many would disagree. Abyss has killed more Mutated Beasts than most of humanity combined, and only because of him, Humanity was still existing.
But, there were many who didn't like Abyss and was trying to ruin his reputation. They used excuses like Abyss was selfish for not teaching anyone his Style, which made him the strongest man.
Abyss clenched his fists, remembering the faces of the Government members, who would be the happiest men in the world if he died, but soon, his clenched fist loosened, and stopped caring about those annoying bastards.
His body started flying, and soon, he flew through the holes and appeared outside the building once more.
''This is beautiful, isn't it?'' A voice came from the sky, which belonged to Supreme Leader, who was floating with his bloodied robes gently fluttering. He was pointing at the starry sky while asking the question.
''Indeed…'' Abyss replied, and soon, a crackling of lightning was seen inside his mouth.
''Sigh…'' Supreme Leader shook his head after seeing Abyss trying another useless move, ''Your moves won't have any effect on me, why don't you give up and I will give you swift death, what do you say?''
Abyss took a glimpse of the window, which was hundreds of meters away from him. He saw a black-haired young man fighting with his whole body covered in blood while two figures were beating him up ruthlessly.
''No… I have to ensure the safety of the younger generation.'' Abyss turned his gaze away and looked straight at Supreme Leader's ruthless-looking eyes.
He slowly opened his mouth and shouted, ''Lightning Dragon's Cry of Battle!'' A blast of lightning left his mouth, which started traveling straight towards Supreme Leader.
''Hmph.'' Supreme Leader flicked his sleeve, which destroyed Abyss' attack to smithereens. After the attack was destroyed, he expected to see Abyss rushing towards him to fight in Close Quarters, but then his eyes widened as he saw Abyss flying away, straight towards the window where three figures were seen fighting!
''No, you won't!'' He shouted and started moving faster than the speed of light. He started catching up Abyss with terrifying speed, but he noticed that he won't make it in time!
