He still had two quests to complete, he had completed the first one by running to the academy.

He planned on completing the third quest in the academy. He could complete it by climbing the stairs in the academy, most students use the elevator so the stairs were always free.

Although he arrived at the academy early, about thirty minutes were wasted due to the incident with Han. He got to the academy a few minutes after seven, since lectures would begin by 9 am, he had about an hour to complete the quest.

—Climb to a total height of 40m (Status: Completed)

Harry paused in his tracks as he stared at the quest completion notification. He panted softly as he sat down on the stairs.

During the last few minutes, he had been climbing the stairs repeatedly.

He could have completed it faster if he used accelerate. Unfortunately, he could only complete his quests using his normal stats and without any form of boost or skill.

'Only one quest left…' Harry thought. He stood up and then started climbing down the stairs to attend his lectures.

Harry's ears suddenly picked up the sound of footsteps coming from behind him. His steps trailed before finally coming to a halt, he hurriedly turned around.

Harry's brows raised slightly in surprise when his gaze met the person behind him—it was a student.

The other student, who stood at 1.7 meters tall, had dark brown eyes and deep-black hair. His broad shoulders and well-defined jawline gave him a dashing appearance, and the outline of his thick muscles showed from his uniform.

What caught Harry's attention was the student's uniform, which was different from Harry's with a white top and blue trousers. The top had two thick blue stripes that ran across it from the top left to the bottom right.

Harry's brows furrowed, and he recognized the uniform. 'A… combat mage.' Harry thought.

The combat mages in the academy were a lot fewer than the Elementalists, unlike Elementalists who trained in the element halls, combat mages trained in the combat hall. The combat hall was quite far from the lecture hall as it was at the last block in the academy.

Throughout Harry's stay in the academy, he had only seen a few combat mages during lectures and around the academy. He had never bothered to visit their hall so this was actually the first time he was seeing this student.

Harry even felt wary, students in the academy used the elevators, he only used the stairs so he would complete his quest and also do it without disturbance.

It wouldn't be the first time that bullies followed him, thus the fact that a different student was using the stairs at the same time as he might not have been a coincidence at all.

His instincts were also tingling crazily, he was sure of one thing, this combat mage was strong… very strong.

"Come on… no need to be so tense." The black-haired student said lazily. He squinted his eyes slightly as he stared at Harry.

He took a few steps forward before looking into Harry's eyes. Then suddenly his eyes gleamed as he finally realized something. "Wait… you're Harry right?"

"Huh?" For a moment Harry was stunned by the sudden excitement in the combat mage's voice. However, it didn't take long for him to recover. "Yes..." Harry replied.

He still kept his guard up though, although he didn't sense any malicious intent from the black-haired student, it doesn't hurt to be too careful.

"I knew it!" The black-haired student suddenly exclaimed. "I heard about what happened this morning… I loved how to put that dumb blue-haired boy in his place. It was cool… Haha."

Harry looked at the black-haired student weirdly for a few seconds. 'Dumb blue-haired boy… Han.' Harry thought.

Ignoring the strange look Harry was giving him, the student continued his rant. "At least that would teach those arrogant assholes a lesson, I'm sure the expression on his face would have been priceless… too bad I wasn't there to see it…"

Then suddenly a thoughtful look appeared on his face, his face gleamed once more as he said, "can we be friends?"

Harry's brows furrowed slightly when he heard the black-haired student, he was taken aback by his request to become friends, however, only one word came out of his mouth. "No."

For Harry, the term 'friends' was merely a means to an end. He used to have friends, however, their behavior changed towards him just because he couldn't draw mana—some of them even started bullying him in the academy.

Besides there was no way he would grant the black haired student's request to become friends. To Harry, the student was weird and strange, why would he suddenly ask to become friends out of the blues?

A strange expression flashed through the combat mage's eyes as he stared at Harry, a sigh left his lips as he said, "That's too bad…"

To Harry's surprise, he simply passed him and continued climbing down the stairs.

After climbing down a few steps, the black-haired student paused, he suddenly turned around and then shouted—not that it was necessary, "The name's Nathan… Nathan Lane!"

He then turned around and started leaving.

Although Nathan had left, Harry's gaze remained on the spot where he stood a few seconds ago.

'He's… weird.' Harry thought. His gaze lingered there for a few more seconds before he finally turned around and climbed the stairs.

-Meanwhile

Han stood in front of an orange door, he had a panicked expression on his face as he stared at the door.

This was the door to his dormitory room, since he had been suspended, he came to pack a few things before leaving the academy.

The principal's words kept ringing in his ears as he stood in the hallway. 'Ohh… Han, you should check the state of your mana core. You'll find something interesting, and learn your lesson to never use magic spell overload again.'

At first, he didn't put much thought into what the principal said but he later got curious about what the principal meant. When he finally decided to check it, he realized something—his mana core stage has regressed!
