Chapter 162 Hidden Quest Completed!

From the corner of his eye, Harry could already see the alpha of the pack rising from the ground, already fully recovered from the shocks from [Lightning Stun], and the anger in its eyes fully visible.
'I need to find a way to deal with them all of once!!' Harry thought, the frown on his face deepening further. It was then that a thought crossed through his mind, and his face brightened up almost instantly.
'Yes! A way to deal with them all at once!! Why didn't I think of this before?!' Harry thought, the edges of his lips curling into a slight smile.
Channeling energy into his legs, Harry swiftly moved to the side, all the while maintaining eye contact with the infuriated alpha wolf.

The dire wolf suddenly released out a loud roar, filled with anger, before suddenly jumping at him, with its jaws wide open, revealing its sharp, deadly fangs.
However, Harry who had already expected this, only let out a slight smile on response.
Since he moved to the side, he now stood in front of all the four dire wolves, and didn't have to worry about any one of them launching any surprise attack on him.
And due to his current position, he could finally activate the skill he wanted to activate, without anything standing in his way!
Stretching both his hands towards the incoming mana beast, the smile on Harry's face deepened, as he immediately casted one of his most powerful skills.
'Blade Barrage!!' He exclaimed inwardly.
Immediately, a large number of sharp wind blades appeared in front of his outstretched palms, numbering up to twenty.
They spread out wide in front of him, each of them sharp and deadly, and also containing quite a great deal of energy.
With a simple mental command, all of the wind blades suddenly shot towards the pack of dire wolves at astonishing speed, rapidly closing in on them.

The huge amount of energy taken up by a single activation of the skill alone caused Harry to tsk in annoyance, but he didn't complain about it since he had already somewhat expected it.

The sounds of the blades flying through at rapid speed reverberated in the air, the motions of each one of them random and different from the others. Their movements were simply unpredictable.
The eyes of the larger wolf who was still jumping towards Harry widened in shock, as the next thing it saw was numerous sharp blades of wind suddenly appear in front of it.
It wanted to move out of the trajectory of the attacks, however, it wasn't even able to react before nearly a dozen wind blades collided against it, slashing it at different parts of its body.

Due to how close it was to Harry compared to the rest of its pack, it ended up taking most of the brunt from the blade barrage.
Most of the blades slashed through his face, leaving deep cuts from which blood continuously spilled from.
As if that wasn't enough, some of the blades also hit it at the sides, causing it to howl in pain as it sustained another round of injuries.
Before it could even recover from one cut, five more injuries had already appeared around its body, and each of them brought great pain, even more than the last.
Despite trying its best to endure all the cuts, it ended up failing, and crashed to the ground, with its eyes closed and blood gushing out of its injuries.
It wasn't the only one who suffered from the attack, the rest of its pack who stood behind it were also bombarded by the seemingly endless barrage of blades.
Though a few blades ended up missing them, colliding against the trees around them instead, a good number of the attack still landed on them.
Howl!
They howled and whimpered in pain as numerous cuts appeared on their bodies, from their heads down to their limbs, leaving all parts of their bodies littered with cuts that kept stinging them with pain.
One of the dire wolves already had a deep cut that ran down at the side of its neck, and the new barrage of blades that landed on it only made its situation worse.
A few of them slashed it at that exact spot where it had an injury, despite it instinctively trying to prevent it, and the cut opened up even further, causing it to hurt even more.
At the end of the day, it couldn't hold back the pain, and ended up also collapsing to the ground, losing its life.
All the other wolves also fell to the ground, as they weren't able to summon any more strength with the severity of the wounds on their bodies.
Two of them died, unable to hold back the pain, while the remaining two only laid weakly on the ground, with blood oozing out of their injuries.
Two system notifications flashed through Harry's eyes, causing his eyes to gleam slightly.

'Just as I thought. It took care of them efficiently.' Harry thought, his gaze moving back to the last two dire wolves who were lying weakly on the ground.
Today would be the first time he had ever actually used [Blade barrage] in a fight with mana beast.
It wasn't that he hated the skill, but it using it would just be inefficient in situations where he was up against one mana beast, since the skill was more suited in a fight against more than two opponents.
Apart from that, there was also the high power and large damage that the skill could cause, which means unlike most of his other skills, he couldn't just test them anywhere, or risk destroying public property.
It had a similar case with [Lightning Strike], which was even more destructive according to the system.
However, that wasn't that was on his mind right now.
He slowly raised his hands up to his eye level and kept staring at it, a complicated expression repeatedly flashing through his eyes.
'Back then… when I activated my skills… I felt something…' He mumbled inwardly, his brows squinting slightly.
'I would come back to that later.' He thought, his gaze moving back to the two dire wolves who were lying on the ground in front of him.
'I should take care of these two first.' If he wasted more time before ending their lives, the mana beasts' annoying regeneration ability would kick in, and Trey could end up being a problem all over again.
'Wind Blade.' Two thin blades of wind appeared in front of him, before shooting towards the necks of the dire wolves at rapid speed.
In the blink of an eye, the blades slashed through the mana beasts' necks, leaving a deep cut and finally ending their lives.
Two notifications from the system flashed across Harry's eyes, and the contents made Harry's heart swell with joy.

Though facing the mana beast gave him struggle, the EXP reward was worth it at the end.
Just when he thought that was the end to the notifications, another set of tabs suddenly appeared in front of him, causing his eyes to widen in shock.

After reading the set of notifications in front of him, a slight smile appeared on Harry's lips.
He hadn't expected a hidden quest from the system to defeat the wolf pack, but seeing as he got one, he couldn't help but feel glad.
The EXP he got from killing the pack of dire wolves brought him closer to level up, and the EXP reward from the hidden quest finally gave him that little push he needed to level up.
However, the reward that excited him the most was the skill points reward. Getting skill points was quite difficult, and wasn't as easy as getting stat points, but by completing this quest, he managed to gain a whopping fifty skill points!
The only thing that made him feel a little disappointed was that none of his skills managed to level up, despite how much he pushed himself during the fight with the wolves.
He slowly walked towards the wolves bodies, crouching in front of them. Looking at how their bodies were riddled with terrible cuts and blood, he doubted he would be able to see them for a good price.
The best thing would be for him to simply absorb their remaining mana left in their bodies using [Mana steal].
There was also the goat from before, whose mana he wasn't able to absorb due to the wolf pack's interference.
Starting with the alpha wolf, Harry placed his hand on top of its chest and then activated [Mana steal].

Absorbing all the mana in their bodies took a while, but the EXP he gained from them were worth it.

That was the total amount of EXP he was able to gain after absorbing the mana from all four of the wolves.
Harry exhaled as he stared at the body of the mana beasts.
They now looked quite thinner, and the former vibrant furs on their bodies were now dry and pale.
