Harry nodded his head in satisfaction when he saw the notification that flashed in front of his eyes.
He crouched in front of the goat's body and was about to place his me on it, in order to adsorb its mana through [Mana steal], when a loud, deep snarl drifted into his ears.
'Huh?' Harry thought in surprise, as he slowly raised his head towards the direction where the sound came from, and his eyes couldn't help but widen when the image of a huge brown wolf came into his eyes.
The mana beast was standing at a height of 120cm, with circular black eyes and long ears, covered in thick brown fur.

It let out another snarl at Harry, revealing its huge razor sharp fangs.
Harry's expression squeezed into a frown, and he immediately jumped backwards, away front the dead goat.
'Damn it! Why didn't I think of this before?!' He exclaimed inwardly, barely holding back the urge to smack his forehead. 'Of course the noise will attract more mana beast!!'
With the amount of noise the trees made when the goat crashed into them, it wouldn't be too surprising if other mana beasts picked up the sound and decided to follow it.
It was why one of the main advice given to those who were going into the beast forest was to avoid making as much noise as possible.
'Probe.' Harry immediately activated the skill, curious about the beast's stats.

It must be a trait of theirs, that allowed them to move without making much sounds, since he was focused so much on the one that appeared first, he hadn't bothered to use his [Perception] and check for other sounds.
Looking behind him, the frown on his face deepened when one more dire wolf appeared in his vision, growling at him like all the others.
Making it four wolves that surrounded him, with him completely trapped in the middle.
'This is bad.' Harry thought, however, in contrast to his thoughts, there was a wide smile on his face.
Why was he smiling? Even he didn't know.

One distinct feature he noticed about the wolf in front of him, was that it was a little larger than the others.
While it stood at 120cm, all the rest of the wolves stood at an height of 100cm. Harry didn't need to think too much before he realized, that the wolf in front of him was the alpha of the pack.

Just then, the pack of wolves growled loudly at him, before the leader of the pack suddenly lunged at him at astonishing speed, with its mouth wide open, revealing Its terrifying fangs that were more than ready to sink into Harry's flesh.
'Energy control!!' Harry immediately activated the skill once more, hurriedly channeling his energy to his legs.
Just as the alpha wolf's fangs were about to land to him, he suddenly leapt backwards, using the energy coursing through his legs to propel himself.
Snap!!
This caused the wolf to miss him, and it ended up biting the dust, its jaws closing upon each other.
The other three dire wolves, seeing as their pack alpha had already lunged at Harry, immediately charged at him, with their deadly fangs ready to kill.
Roarrr!!
The wolf who was standing behind, jumped at him, in order to bite his flesh while he was still in the air.
Harry's brows furrowed slightly when he saw the incoming dire wolf, with its mouth wide open.
However, this was something he had already expected. Since he knew he couldn't remain in the middle of the pack, as they would simply tear him apart without him being able to defend against their attacks, he decided to jump backwards, while also making sure to take care of the wolf who was behind him.
As for how he would take of the wolf, he already had a plan.
Twisting his body upwards, Harry hurriedly stretched one of his hands towards the mana beast's wide open mouth.
'Eat this instead!' He shouted inwardly, his body in an upside down position. Doing this without the use of [Accelerate] was a lot more stressful, since his body wasn't be as flexible as it would with the skill.
However, he had already made a promise to himself, not to rely on [Accelerate], unless the situation was necessary.
The skill was one that boosted his speed by a large margin, and he knew abusing it too much wouldn't be good for his growth.
'Lightning Ball!', immediately a medium sized ball of lightning appeared in front of his palms, lightning blitzing violently around it.

The ball of lightning shot towards the mana beast at astonishing speed, rapidly closing in on the mana beast.
Within the blink of an eye, the lightning ball closed in on the wolf, going straight into its wide open mouth and immediately exploding inside its stomach.

The wolf let out a loud howl of pain as the lightning from the attack coursed through it from within, causing its body to spam repeatedly.
Seeing as the lightning ball went into the wolf's mouth reminded him of his fight with the stage two four eyed cobra where he pulled the same trick.
Harry, using this opportunity when the beast was distracted, placed one of his legs on the its back, using it to balance himself, before propelling himself to the back once more.
Roarrr!!
He gritted his teeth, as the two other dire wolves charged at him, roaring loudly and baring their sharp fangs at him.
Due to how he propelled his body backwards, Harry knew he wouldn't be able to land on his feet.
So he knew he had to act fast, or risk getting eaten by the mana beasts.
'Wind Slash!' He exclaimed inwardly, pulling his hands backwards, before swinging it at the wolves, in a slashing motion.
Whoosh!!
Immediately, a long, thin slash of wind appeared in the air, before shooting towards the wolves at great speed.
The wind slash closed in on him within a second, slashing through their wide open mouths, and slicing through the sides of their jaws.
Howlll!
The wolves let out a low howl of pain, as they stumbled backwards, a huge amount of pain stinging them from their jaws.
Due to the slash cutting through the sides of their jaws, their open mouths failed to close, as the joint connecting them refused to close.
It was then that Harry's body finally hit the ground, despite him trying his best to land on his feet, he ended up failing as he couldn't find the right momentum to do so.
Fortunately, he was able to channel some of his energy to his elbows and his back, using the extra power from them to reduce the impact of the fall.
Rarrr!
One of the wolves who he slashed before, immediately jumped at him, in a bid to bite off his head, despite its injured jaws.
Its jaws dangled loosely above one another, as it struggled to gain control of them for a bite.
However, Harry, not willing to take a chance, hurriedly channeled his some of his energy into his hands, still keeping the most part of it in his legs.
Using the increased strength from his hands, Harry hurriedly used them to support his body on the ground, before immediately kicking his left leg towards the approaching wolf.
Thwack!!
A dull sound reverberated in the air, as his legs collided against the wolf lower jaw, sending it flying backwards.
The wolf let out a loud whimper of pain, as its huge body was sent flying to the back.
Meanwhile, the alpha of the pack who had already recovered from its former shock, suddenly charged at Harry again, jumping other the rest of his pack members in the course of doing so.
Roarrrr!!!
It let out a loud roar, its mouth wide open, revealing its sharp jaws that were descending directing on Harry's head.
