Team 19 vs. Team 8

This time, the participants were all regular students. Unlike Trent's team, the members of each team were all at the first mana core stage, and none of them had enough power to simply overwhelm their opponents in one attack.

They had no choice but to work together in order to give themselves a win.

The ones on team nineteen got into a formation, with two designated to attack, one at the middle and two standing near the flag, defending it.

One of the members of team 19 was a combat mage, and he was the one mainly giving orders and co-ordinating his team.

At his sides, were two short swords with their sharp blades glistening slightly. From the way the rest listened to his orders, it seemed like he was the leader of the team.

As for the other team, they simply attacked without worrying about protecting their flag or their domain.

At first, it seemed like Team 19 was going to lose, as those on Team 8 kept bombarding their domain with attack spells.

However, due to their strong co-ordination, they were able to maintain their ground, and despite their formation not being the best, they still managed to prevent those of team 8 from obtaining their flag.

The match went on for a few more minutes with none of the two teams gaining an edge over the other.

But after struggling a few minutes, the combat mage from team 8 finally managed to break through the opponents' defenses.

Seeing as one of their opponents managed to move past them, the members of team 8 immediately focused their attention on him.

However, with precise use of his short swords, the combat mage was able to deflect and swerve through the attacks sent to him.

His team mates didn't just stay still either, they also bombarded their opponents with attack spells, in order to prevent them from stopping their leader.

Due to the members of team 8 being distracted by the attacks from behind, the combat mage managed to get his hands on the green flag in their domain, before forcefully uprooting it from the ground.

Noticing that their flag had fallen into the hands of their opponents, the Elementalists in Team 8 immediately fell back and focused all their spells on the fire Elementalist in their domain.

However, the student didn't get distracted and by boosting his physical attributes using mana, he managed to throw the flag towards on his teammates.

Since most of team 8 had already fallen back to their domain, they weren't able to catch the flag as it flew over their heads, and fell right into the hands on their opponent.

The members of Team 19 didn't scatter their formation despite things being quite difficult for them a few minutes ago, so they were able to get the flag.

Without wasting anytime, two of them sprinted back to their domain, with the other two holding back the attacks from those in team 8.

The combat mage who was their leader was also fighting against the members of team 8, and even though their team weren't exactly winning the fight, they weren't losing either, since they managed to clear the path of those two Elementalist to run back to their team's domain.

Due to their co-operative efforts, the Elementalists moved team 8's flag to their domain safely and they successfully won the competition.

The moment their team was announced as the winner, they rejoiced with each other, happy that they'll be advancing into the next stage.

While those of team 8 couldn't rejoice and only gnashed their teeth in frustration at their shameful loss.

They had underestimated their opponents. Seeing that their leader was a combat mage—people known to be weaker than their Elementalist counterparts—made them think that they would be able to breeze through their defenses by simply attacking at once.

However, their plan failed, and it resulted in their pitiful loss instead. Rather than team 19's defense crumbling, it only got stronger.

They could only blame themselves for their loss.

After team 19 was declared the winner, cheers erupted from the audience and the names of the team members were chanted in adoration.

Even though no flashy moves or spells were casted by the winning team's members, just watching their co-operation and how they won the duel made the audience happy.

Unlike Trent's team that ended the competition before anyone could even enjoy it, they were able to enjoy this one to the fullest.

Harry sighed, before relaxing on his seat. He felt a little bored if he was being honest, while the last match was quite interesting, it wasn't interesting enough to him.

However, he still felt that team 19 did an impressive job, using their strengths to their advantage and co-operating with themselves.

He couldn't help but look forward to when it was time for his own team to participate.

After all the last participants left the stage, another set of names appeared on the huge yellow hologram once more, and this time, Harry couldn't help but let out a slight smile when he saw the names on the hologram.

Finally! It was time for their team—team 16 to participate.

A lot of students were screaming in happiness, eager to see Susan Grey in action.

Lin who sat by Susan's side started sweating in nervousness, as she realized that the moment she had dreaded so much had finally arrived.

Ever since the event started, she hadn't been able to get the thought that she would soon be called out to fight out of her mind.

She hadn't even been able to focus on the past team matches, as all she kept imagining was their team coming up on the stage and her fumbling.

Susan, seeing the smile on Harry's face frowned slightly in confusion.

The three of them slowly stood up, and started to make their way towards the stage.

The cheers of the students got even louder as now, especially from the male ones, as now, they could all see Susan's beautiful figure properly.

Most of them ogled shamelessly at her, however, none of them dared to approach her as the indifferent expression in her grey eyes scared them away.

While they were walking, Susan kept glancing at Harry, who still had a smile on his face.

It seemed like he was looking forward to the team fight and she didn't know why.

A few seats ahead of them was a light brown haired girl with pitch black eyes also walking towards the stage. Her name was Ria Hillary, and she was she one they would be facing

Susan stared at the back of the girl for a few seconds, before staring back at Harry.

"Do you know that the leader of of the team we'll be going up against is an elite student?" She leaned slightly towards Harry and muttered.

Harry's eyes squinted slightly, surprised by her words. He didn't know the leader of the other team was an elite student, after all, he still didn't know the names of all the top twenty-five students.

He finally understood why Lin seemed as nervous as she did.

During the weeks that past, he tried to learn more about the elite students and their strengths, but he only bothered about those who interested him, and this girl didn't.

It seemed like she was one of the few elite students who kept themselves holed up in their dormitory, so students don't really know about them.

"Okay, if I may ask, what's her rank?" Harry asked.

"Rank 13." Susan replied, still looking to see Harry's reaction.

Harry's eyes widened slightly when he heard Susan's words, however, he didn't say anything else and only replied: "Okay."

Subconsciously, the sides of his lips curled up in a slight smile, as he felt quite excited to fight against an elite student. Like this, he could properly gauge his power when compared to the a top Elementalist of Vane academy.

Susan's eyes squinted slightly when she heard Harry's nonchalant reply.

Since Harry was only a stage one Elementalist, she had expected him to shiver in nervousness at the thought of actually facing an elite student, especially one at the thirteenth rank, however, it seemed like he didn't really care.

'I don't know if i should take his reaction as a good or bad thing…' She thought.
