They were one of the more popular breed of mana beasts, so Harry had already been taught about them in the academy.

The matured and fully developed ones had all four of their eyes fully opened, giving them a wider range of vision.
The fully matured ones were known to be very powerful and even the weakest of them was at the fourth beast stage.
However, what piqued Harry's interest wasn't their history or the strength of the beasts; it was their value!

There were two more beast cores that he didn't absorb, mainly because he wanted to sell them.
He absorbed most of the beast cores, not just because he needed EXP but also because he knew he couldn't just sell all of them.
In the eyes of others, he was only a stage one Elementalist and the thought of a stage one Elementalist killing more than five beast in his first beast forest 'adventure' seemed rather impossible.
He was still planning on keeping the extent full power a secret.
He looked back at the mana beast's body and sighed. 'Maybe I shouldn't be too greedy and just absorb it...'
