Chapter 112 Strong beast
The cobra rapidly coiled its body on the ground, its small black eyes fixated on Harry. Its mouth and its hood were wide open, baring its sharp fangs at Harry.
Harry's eyes also remained on the creature.
The presence of this beast was totally different compared to the stage one mana beasts he had fought before.
The air seemed thicker, probably due to the denser amount of mana emanating from the beast, and the bloodlust was also a lot higher.
Though the bloodlust wasn't so thick that it would affect Harry and put him in a daze, it was still strong enough to keep a normal human frozen for more than a few seconds.
Now that Harry was finally able to take a good look at the snake, he realized that it also had small black scales around its body, starting from the bottom of its neck, down to its tail.
However, the ones around its belly were slightly different. They had the same appearance and colour but were slightly thicker and bigger.
Seeing that the cobra still hadn't made any movements or try to attack, Harry decided to use those few seconds to scan it.
After all, he wanted to have a rough gauge of his opponent's strength.
'Probe.'
Almost immediately, a set of characters appeared in front of his eyes.
However, he wasn't given time to check the information given by [Probe] when the cobra suddenly leapt towards him with its mouth wide open and its fangs gutting out.
SCREECH!
It made a loud, annoying noise as it jumped with great speed.
Fortunately, Harry hadn't lost focus on his surroundings so it didn't catch him completely off-guard.
He immediately twisted his body to the side, managing to escape the attack by a hairbreadth.
Just as he relaxed slightly, the tail of the snake suddenly coiled back in an unnatural manner before slamming into his belly with full force.

The force behind the hit caused Harry's figure to fly backwards by a few meters, even chipping away a chunk of his health.
Fortunately for him, he somehow managed to manoeuvre his body and land on his feet.
"Arrg!" He let out a low grunt while clutching his abdomen.
His feet were unsteady as he stared back at the beast.
His abdomen was a little numb due to the hit, however, he gritted his teeth and endured the pain without taking his eyes off his opponent.
[Healing and regeneration activated]

Fortunately, healing and regeneration came to his rescue and the pain from his stomach lessened greatly.
'That injury was quite deep... given how I took that much energy points to heal.' Harry noted inwardly with gritted teeth.
Suddenly, the figure of the snake vanished from his sight again.
'Lightning Dash!' Harry activated his speed-boost skill without wasting anytime.
Even with [Accelerate] active, the cobra was still too fast for him, so he didn't hesitate to increase his speed even more.
Immediately, blue sparks of lightning started dancing around his body, mainly concentrated around his legs.
With this, Harry was finally able to follow the mana beast's movement somewhat.
The cobra hurriedly slithered through the Fred's, moving from side to side and rapidly closing in on Harry.
'This beast is fast!' Harry exclaimed inwardly before jumping backwards once more. Since the beast was slithering towards him, he felt like the best choice was to create even more distance between them.
Just before he landed, he stretched his hand forward and then quickly activated a skill.
"Lightning ball!" He shouted. Immediately, a medium sized ball formed in front of his hand before shooting towards the mana beast with great speed.
He could have used [Wind blade], however, he doubted the skill would do any damage in the situation.
He couldn't follow the beast's movements properly, and the grasses on the ground wereacting as cover for the cobra, hindering his sights and making things more difficult for him.
Fortunately, the cobra didn't seem too intelligent so its movements were rather simple.
The blitzing ball of lightning hit the ground with full force, but unfortunately, it missed the cobra by just a few centimeters, charring the grasses and dirt around it.
Although the attack didn't hit the snake, the force and shock behind it still hit the cobra.
SCREECH!
The beast let out another wail of pain as its body flew up by a few meters.
The grasses in which it hid earlier were also damaged by the lightning, giving Harry a clearer view of its position.
The moment the beast's figure flew in the air, Harry didn't waste any second and quickly targeted it.
When it came to land, the mana beast was so fast that even with his speed tripled from the use of [Accelerate] and [Lightning Dash], he could only barely follow it, but in the air, it was helpless as it couldn't use its speed, having only its scales to defend.
He immediately swung his hand forward and activated [Wind Blade]. A long thin blade appeared above his palm before shooting towards the mana beast, but the blade moved in an horizontal line rather than the usual vertical motion.

Doing this unsurprisingly took a lot more energy that it normally would since [Accelerate] and [Lightning Dash] were still active, but Harry didn't care much about that since his energy regenerated crazily fast.
Within seconds, the wind blade hit the mana beast squarely on the head. A small cut appeared on the part where it hit it, and some blood bled from the cut.
'What?! Only a small cut!' Harry couldn't help but exclaim in shock. His eyes widened in disbelief, and he cursed under his breath.
'Could it be that I underestimated the strength of stage two mana beast...?' He mumbled inwardly.
At this point, he was extremely curious about the beast's stats but he knew he couldn't use [Probe] yet since the beast wouldn't give him anytime to go through it.
'This is quite... annoying.' Harry gritted his teeth. His energy was rapidly draining due to the number of skill he had to activate just to keep up with the beast's speed, and it seemed like doing that alone wouldn't be enough to face the mana beast.
