Chapter 339: Two People In A Room
When she returned to the filming studio, Liu Ran was filming a scene at the entrance where many people were surrounding and watching.
“Jinyi, you’re back, quickly go get changed. Liu Ran’s acting chops seemed to have improved rapidly the past few days. The scene with you and her is coming up next. Now that she’s still in the mood, let’s begin immediately!”
Chen Keyi said while staring at the camera.
‘Improvement in her acting skills?’
Yan Jinyi couldn’t help look at Liu Ran again. The scene to be shot today was that of Zhou Pinyun returning to the palace after she had been wronged.
She was full of vigor and energy, of course, the scenes would be shot perfectly.
Yan Jinyi began to secretly criticize in her head.
Without calling “cut”, Chen Keyi told Yan Jinyi to begin acting right away.
The eagle-eyed Liu Ran had long noticed her. In fact, before Yan Jinyi walked towards the mirror, Liu Ran had already walked towards her with a smile. “I hope you are well, Your Majesty.”
Her makeup today was very eye-catching and she was dressed in a vibrant purple dress with her long hair tied into a bun that was secured on the back of her head with a hairpin. Her eyeliner was winged high and her makeup was actually commonly applied on villains.
The arch of her eyebrows, thickness of her eyeliner, and color of her lipstick was used to remind the crowd that her character had turned evil.
Seeing that Yan Jinyi was staring at her expressionlessly, Yan Jinyi thought that she had been frightened by her aura and hence, was secretly smug. “Your Majesty, you’re still as ravishing as before!”
After saying that, Liu Ran moved again to block Yan Jinyi from the camera so that only half of her body would be captured by the camera.
Yan Jinyi raised her brows. ‘You’re trying to steal my scenes, huh?’
‘Where did Liu Ran get her confidence from? Why is she so hypocritical and fake as soon as she speaks!?’
“You’ve suffered a lot lately.” Yan Jinyi didn’t help Liu Ran up according to the script and instead moved closer to the male lead.
The cameraman naturally followed her, so Liu Ran ended up having only half her body captured by the camera instead.
During this period of time, Yan Jinyi had read a lot of books related to acting.
‘Liu Ran is a graduate of a film academy after all. Doesn’t she know that the closer she gets to the camera, the more likely she will be out of view?’
Yan Jinyi looked at Liu Ran smilingly.
Liu Ran took a step back too. She was just about to speak when Chen Keyi chided her furiously.
“Liu Ran, what’s the matter with you? Are you getting all conceited and complacent right after I just praised you? Didn’t your teachers in college teach you how to make sure the camera gets a good shot of you? All we can see is the back of your head. Are you trying to show off your big head?”
Liu Ran was stunned and she subconsciously turned around, only to find that she was about to collide with the camera.
Just now, she was so focused on the camera in front that she forgot there was one behind her.
With a look of embarrassment, she bowed to Chen Keyi and said, “I’m so sorry, Director Chen, I just got too engrossed that I forgot about the camera behind me.”
“What’s the use of just having good acting skills? You have to pay attention to the cameras. Do you think you’re the only person being filmed? If that’s what you want, go act in a show where there are only two people in a single room.”
Chen Keyi seemed to be in a foul mood today as he was rather hot-tempered and irritable.
Upon hearing his words, Liu Ran subconsciously clenched her fists but she maintained a pitiful expression.
There were lots of people around them but Chen Keyi didn’t hesitate to berate her in front of them.
‘So what if you’re a famous director? Once I conquer either Zhuang Heng or Tang Qing, I will give you a hard time!’
‘An adult film…’
Yan Jinyi glanced at Liu Ran’s chest. ‘It suits her well.’
“Okay, pay attention to the cameras. And, do you have something against Jinyi? You’re playing the female lead, not the villainous supporting actress. Do you know how to stay humble? You’ve just been brought back to the palace by the emperor and you’re already trying to provoke the empress?”
