CHAPTER 329

Aramis couldn’t be most glad by the turn of events. To have a mate who was as understanding as Asia was what any dragon would wish for.

He pressed a kiss on her lips, taking his time to savour the moment he had with her as though this would be the very last, he had.

He had learnt a bitter lesson with his first mate. He did not plan on wasting time again with the second.

“When all of this is done and I return, I will wed you, lawfully as my bride and mate. I promise you.” Astoria’s eyes went wide.

Heaven knew she was not prepared for that. Scratch that, she didn’t even think her life would matter much to the point of finding someone suitable for her to be with. This felt more than surreal for her.

It was different. It gave her life meaning and new hope.

“But,” Aramis’ voice put a stop to her thoughts. “I would want to see to it that Xander gets his marriage first before anything. Without us, that boy seems lost sometimes. It would be our joy to have the Dragon Lord married first.”

.....

“Yes,” Asia burst into smiles. “I can wait for that. I am eager to see Jade having her happily ever after too. I also cannot wait to break the news to her.”

Aramis lifted his brow. He knew once she told Jade, Jade would in turn tell Xander and then the others would find out.

Why that wasn’t bad, he could very much guess how his friends would react. They found out last and the girls had to first.

Asia sensed his hesitation and immediately changed her mind. “If you do not want to, then sure. I will wait for you to announce it too.”

“No, no. Do not worry about me. I just have to resound it to the guys first, or else I would be called a traitor,” he laughed.

“Ah, I see. I see. Okay, I will only tell Jade and then you can tell the others yourself. A little whisper.”

He winked at her gesture, keeping his smile on. “A little whisper, darling.”

Aramis held her in his arms once more as he showered her lips with his hot and needy kisses.

Far off from where they stood, someone stood off and crossed her arms in front of her chest with a wide grin plastered on her face.

“Hehhee, the juiciest of news always wanders off to my doorstep,” she smiled in triumph.

“I bet dad and mum would be eager to hear this news if they could, right twin brother?” Astoria questioned as she twisted her lips playfully just thinking of how much she planned on ruining her brother’s playtime.

‘This would be good. I guess I was the first one to hear even before Jade. Yippie.’ she jubilated inwardly.

Without sparing a second to watch her brother’s romantic moment, Astoria jumped with joy and twirled around as she made her way to her first point of action.

By the time the evening was gone, some of them retired to their rooms to indulge in one romance or the other while a few others remained outside sharing fun memories with each other.

Truly if every moment could be kept like that, it would be something to look forward to. But in other for such to happen, things needed to be put in place, such as clearing all danger signs.

Xander and Jade sauntered into the comfort of his room and made their way to his bed while laughing and stealing quick kisses on each other’s lips.

By the time their body hit the bed, Jade fell backwards on her back and pulled Xander onto her body.

Giggles echoed in the room as Xander kissed his way around her neck while tickling her a little bit to ease off the tension of the day.

“Stop it,” she gave a high-pitched cry and let out more laughs. “Xanderrrr, y-you naughty man.”

“Did I hear you complain and call me naughty?” Xander inquired. He lifted up and supported his weight with his elbow as he watched Jade through his lashes, smiling sheepishly.

“Yes, I did.”

His smile grew as his gaze darkened with lust. He was ready to make those lips of hers do something else other than call him naughty.

“Two options, Jade,” Xander turned serious. She gulped. Even looking like that he was sexy.

It was hard for her hormones not to go overdrive just thinking of having him down between her legs.

Gulp!

“One, I let your mouth have another use to scream out my name in ecstasy when I pleasure you.”

“And?” Jade asked challengingly.

He seemed to have got an idea because the look he gave sent shivers running down her spine in excitement.

“Or, I have you wrap those naughty lips of yours around my little dragon. You would be too busy ser…”

She captured his lips quickly and stole a kiss from him before he could utter any more words, leaving Xander in shock.

“Stop talking. I would take the two options and more.” She brought her face closer but he placed a finger on her lips and prevented her from doing what she wanted.

“We won’t be having more today.” She pouted, unhappy by his decision.

They were getting married anyway. It would be great if they went all in. She whined but never got to complain as he dove in, kissing her deeply.

Standing in the poorly lit room, Zale squeezed his hands into fists by his side as he stared at the portrait hanging in the big study.

It was the picture of his father Zain standing with a ceremonial sword in his hand while having the tip pointed down and staring ahead with a menacing look.

No doubt the study belonged to his father as every portrait there, the big desk and chairs, the bookshelves, everything had the same dark purple design which his father purely loved.

Not that the intricate designs used in every piece of furniture present spoke of his unique taste, different from his son’s.

The room was illuminated by the single side bulb switched on but even that did little to hide the eerie feeling the study brought with it.

And in the centre of it all, was the man who was most affected by this death.

His brows drew together but no words were uttered from his lips to show his anger and pain.

Several minutes passed by and Zale remained in the same place until he lowered his eyes to the exact sword in the portrait and where it hung beneath the portrait.

“Father.”

A tear slid down his cheek and he gritted before releasing a long and tired sigh.

“You did not die for nothing. I swear it, I would make Xander Warner pay for your life dearly.”

He exhaled sharply, lifted his eyes once more, meeting his father’s stare as he walked closer to the portrait and placed his hand on the sword.

Another teardrop flowed down the second eyelid as more followed. It took some seconds before he drew his nostrils and shook his head.

“Get a grip. Not now.”

With that, Zale turned the sword to the left and immediately, the protruded wedge in which it was used in supporting the sword turned as well.
