728 Practicing Alone
After having her sister-in-law send and pick her up from school for a week, Bai Xi Xi finally managed to convince her family that her legs were good enough to walk back and forth to school.
In the past few days, the students were busy again with their studies. It felt as if it hasn’t been too long since their last test, but a few days ago, their teacher announced that they were going to face another exam.
This news certainly put the students in a bad mood. A few of them started to complain about this matter. However, the senior student was going to leave school soon and pursue their studies. Therefore, the teachers could only be a little cold-hearted.
After school ended, Bai Xi Xi decided to stay around at school to finish some of her work before heading back. By the time she looked up again, the class was already empty.
However, the student’s voice could still be heard, coming from the field.
Bai Xi Xi gathered her belongings and headed to the teacher’s office to send a few documents to their teacher.
After exchanging a few words with Teacher Du, Bai Xi Xi finally turned around to leave.
As usual, she was walking through the basketball court before heading out.
The sound of the basketball against the floor with the squeaking sound of basketball shoes made her stop to take a look. Bai Xi Xi raised her head and saw Fu Chen in the middle of the court, practicing by himself.

The man dribbled the basketball and tried to do a few tricks. Then, he jumped up high and dunked the ball into the hoop.
Subconsciously, Bai Xi Xi walked over to the fence and watched as the young man practice. She thought that Fu Chen’s posture was getting better these days.
However, looking around, Bai Xi Xi then noticed that the other basketball team members were not around.
Her brow furrowed, wondering if Yang Xu was playing tricks on Fu Chen. Actually, Bai Xi Xi had already foreseen that something like this was going to happen.
Although Yang Xu agreed to let Fu Chen join the basketball team, it does not mean that he would let Fu Chen play together.
Thinking about this made her heart ache for Fu Chen. She could see how much Fu Chen liked playing basketball. Otherwise, why would he diligently practice all by himself?
The past few times that she had gone to the park with her nephews, she would find Fu Chen with his basketball in his hand, intending to practice alone.
However, it would be really hard to improve when he had to practice alone.
The sound of the ball falling from the hoop to the ground snapped Bai Xi Xi out of her trance.
She watched as Fu Chen ran to pick up the basketball and then, their eyes met.
There was a glint in Fu Chen’s eyes the moment he saw Bai Xi Xi at the side.
Picking up the basketball, Fu Chen then ran over to Bai Xi Xi with a bright smile on his face.
Seeing the scene in front of her made Bai Xi Xi chuckle. Bai Xi Xi thought that the look on Fu Chen’s face was almost the same as Bai Cai’s whenever he saw her.
“Class Monitor, why are you here?” Fu Chen asked.
“I was coming from the teacher’s office,” Bai Xi Xi said. “I saw you practicing alone and decided to stop by and watch.”
Fu Chen touched the tip of his nose. Then, he lowered his head to hide his smile. Thinking that Bai Xi Xi has been watching him for a long time made him shy.
“Why are you practicing alone?” Bai Xi Xi asked. “Yang Xu and the team... they were not bullying you, were they?”
“It’s not that. They just thought that I am a new member and should practice a lot more.”
Bai Xi Xi chuckled. Compared to the rest of the team members, Fu Chen’s skills were better. Bai Xi Xi thought that the team would need a lot of practice instead.
“You don’t have to speak for them. I know Yang Xu and his team,” Bai Xi Xi said.
They have been spending too much time with Jian Chi that they had become as arrogant as Jian Chi.
Bai Xi Xi wondered if there was a way to make Yang Xu let Fu Chen play as the main player. After all, Fu Chen’s skill was quite good. It would be a shame if he was not allowed to show off his skill.
Fu Chen had a helpless look in his eyes. He bounced the ball on the floor a few times before looking at Bai Xi Xi again. “It’s not so bad. At least, they are going to let me play in the tournament.”
Bai Xi Xi looked at Fu Chen in disbelief. She thought that it was strange that Yang Xu would let Fu Chen play in the match.
“They don’t have any other choice,” Fu Chen explained. “It’s either they let me play or they will have to lose the game.”
Bai Xi XI knew that Yang Xu liked his face. The tournament was big. It would be very bad if their team lose terribly with their skills.
Last time, Lin Xiao Tong found out that the team had lost against Y City West. It was a team that they had never lost to before and it was too embarrassing for Yang Xu and the team.
Adding Fu Chen as a main player was indeed a good move.
It seemed that Yang Xu still had a conscience and know how to think things through. At least, he was not as arrogant as Jian Chi.
Fu Chen then noticed that Bai Xi Xi had her backpack behind her. “Class Monitor, are you heading back now?”
“Mmm...” Bai Xi Xi glanced at her wristwatch. “It’s already late.”
“Then, wait for me for a while. I’ll go and get my bag first,” Fu Chen said. “Let’s go back together. I’ll walk you back.”
Bai Xi Xi was about to reject his offer when Fu Chen already dashed to grab his belongings.
