727 I Accept Your Apology
Bai Xi Xi returned to the school two days later and was immediately surrounded by her friends.
Lin Xiao Tong looked at Bai Xi Xi’s ankle with worry. “Xi Xi, how is your ankle? Does it still hurt?”
For the past few days, when she was resting at home, Lin Xiao Tong would often text her to ask about her ankle. Being surrounded by the people who cared about her made her heart swell with warmth.

Her eyes narrowed as she looked at Yang Xu’s unfriendly gaze. Bai Xi Xi wondered if Yang Xu wanted to create more trouble.
The class suddenly turned quiet. Everyone else was wondering what Yang Xu was planning to do to their class monitor.
“Class Monitor,” Yang Xu spoke. His expression showed that he was unwilling to come over to greet her. “I’m sorry.”
Bai Xi Xi and everyone else was momentarily surprised to see that Yang Xu came to Bai Xi Xi to apologize. After all, Yang Xu stubbornly did not want to admit that he was wrong for causing Bai Xi Xi to fall.
“I didn’t mean to push you down the other day,” Yang Xu spoke. “I’m sorry.”
His hands tightened into fists.
Yang Xu was not willing to apologize either. After all, he did not think that he had done anything wrong. That day, he was not trying to push Bai Xi Xi or injure her. He merely wanted to shove Yan Li aside.
Everything was an accident. It was Bai Xi Xi’s bad luck that she happen to be right behind Yan Li.
However, someone reminded him about Bai Xi Xi’s background.
Recently, Jian Chi had to transfer schools because he had offended Bai Xi Xi. Before Jian Chi moved away, he had mentioned to them that Bai Xi Xi’s background was not simple.
The reason Jian Chi went overseas was because of his father’s company.
Yang Xu began to panic when he recalled this matter. His father always reminded him not to make trouble in school.
If he offended Bai Xi Xi and his father found out about it, then, the person who would be in trouble was him, wasn’t it?
The class was filled with silence. Everyone spoke in low voices as they continued to watch the scene where Yang Xu was apologizing to Bai Xi Xi.
Yang Xu’s face grew redder when Bai Xi Xi did not speak for a long time. Yang Xu began to wonder if perhaps, Bai Xi Xi wanted to embarrass him by letting him stand there for a long time.
The thought made him angry. But, there was nothing he could do about it.
“It’s alright.” Bai Xi Xi lowered her gaze, not willing to look at Yang Xu for a long time. “I accept your apology.”
Hearing this, Yang Xu quickly stood up straight again. He cleared his throat before shooting everyone else a dagger look.
“What are you looking at?” Yang Xu roared to one of the boys. Then, he walked back to his seat and tried to ignore everything around him.
Yang Xu knew that he would become the talk of everyone because of this apology. However, what can he do about it? It was not as if he could shut everyone’s mouth.
The most important thing was that he apologized. Since Bai Xi Xi had accepted his apology, he should be safe, right?
The class turned normal. Their chattering voices filled the classroom. However, at the corner, a group was seen gossiping about Yang Xu’s apology.
Bai Xi Xi took out her book as a habit and started to read it.
Hearing the familiar footsteps, Bai Xi Xi placed a finger to hold the page before lifting her head. Her lips curled into a smile upon seeing that Fu Chen was standing beside her. “Good morning.”
Fu Chen coughed. He pulled his chair and sat down. “Good morning, Class Monitor.” He lowered his gaze to look at her leg. “How is your injury?”
Bai Xi Xi flashed a smile. “I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt to move around.”
“That’s good.” Fu Chen heaved a sigh, but this did not make him feel at ease. He reminded himself to look after Bai Xi Xi a little more.
After their brief interaction, Bai Xi Xi looked away and continued to read her books again.
Fu Chen swept his gaze around the class and thought that the air was a little strange.
There were a few of the students who were observing their interaction. However, their interest in watching them quickly faded away when they saw Bai Xi Xi continue to read her book.
Soon, their classroom teacher showed up and announced a few news.
