Chapter 326 idiots falling into trap one by one
The crowd of students just kept exchanging glances between Kevin and Leon wondering which one of them was the villain and which one is the victim. They both had started an argument over who's the rapist and the drama was just getting bigger.
The commotion had attracted even the students who at first didn't care and just focused on their eating and drinking for the party. And it was clear that soon enough someone from the student council or staff would be here too.
'Wonder what Lisa's reaction would be when she hears her brother being called a rapist? Her whole reputation would be ruined.' A sudden thought came into Rio's mind as he looked at a camera crystal blinking bright in the corner and looked away as what happens in her life didn't matter to him anymore.
Rio looked at Vanessa, who was staring at Leon with frowning eyes lost in her thoughts, while Amaya as always was looking at everyone else closely trying to get a read on what's going on in their mind.
To her all this bs was her survival guide for the future. The knowledge that'll help her in using, manipulating and controlling all these people if ever a need arises.
Katherine and Rubina, the two heroines advocating strength, stood there with a plate of food in their head. Both probably thinking the same thing as to beat the one responsible instead of lecturing and wasting time.
Saisha, along with her entourage of elves was staring at all this scene from a far corner, while the pure and kind hearted Ayla just stood near him, with her fist clenched in anger.
To her rape was the most vile act of crime anyone could commit, as she had heard the screams and seen the consequences of such actions in the colony she grew up in her childhood. Despite her years of relish life with the Blake family, a shadow of that trauma and those incidents still lingered in her mind.
"It's okay. He'll be punished." Rio said, placing his hand over her shoulder, as she nodded her head with a deep breath.
Valtor, who was calmly trying to assess the situation before judging anyone, was pushed aside, as a few nobles and rankers who were jealous and angry at Leon came forward to teach him a lesson.
After all, Leon not only showed off that he's better than them every time in spar battles, but also stopped them from bullying other commoners quite a few times too.
Edward and Lincoln, who had a long standing feud with him, wanted to take this chance and cripple this bastard again, while Hermann, his childhood enemy was just throwing snarky remarks onto the ears of those around him, fuming their feelings to lash out at Leon.
He hated the guy, but he was no fool. He knew Leon's character best, and knew he was innocent, that's why if he wanted to harm Leon he could only do it in the secrecy of a high crowd. Cause if he openly moved forward alone like those two idiot nobles, he'd be blamed or punished by the staff later on too.
"Are you insane? Trying to put the blame on me when I was the one who caught you and threw you out." Leon said as he tried to grab Kevin, but was held back by some students.
"Shut the fuck up, you cheating noble. If I don't cripple you today, I won't sleep peacefully. Let me go." Kevin too, following the same ferocity and viciousness acted his part, giving his all to show his righteousness about how angry he was for his shadow.
'And_ he slipped.' Rio said to himself as he noticed Amaya frowning as she glanced at Kevin. His perfect acting may fool others, but to her it started to look sloppy the moment she started seeing teeny tiny hints through his clothes, through his speech and how he tried to sell his emotions by shouting MY shadow again and again.
[She'll turn this stupid into her slave if she ever found any proof.] System spoke, confirming his hypothesis about Amaya's hidden grin behind her worried face. [You better hurry up if you want to take advantage of him.]
'That aside, is it just me or does Leon look extra angry to you?' Rio asked, noticing something wrong with the protagonist's over anger behavior.
[Loki chuckles seeing the drama unfold. Saying the seeds of chaos are always flourishing when you sprinkle a little lie in the mix.]
"...."
'Hela, what did your father do?' Rio said as he heard Loki laughing through his connection with Hela. This pair of father-daughter duo was sure bonding better every day now.
[Hela sighs and shakes her head, saying it's his usual tactics, nothing new.]
??? Rio, not understanding anything, didn't think anymore. Loki probably told some lies in Kevin's mind causing him to confuse something. Or maybe he tricked Leon somehow.
While Rio was busy in his thoughts, Edward and Lincoln were in front of Leon, ready to teach him a lesson while other students kept hold of Leon's and Kevin's hands.
But just when Edward was ready to give a kick to Leon's manhood after finishing his righteous speech about what should be done to rapists like them, who can't control their sticks, - Vanessa came forward and pushed them away.
"Stop shouting." She said while shouting herself.
"Don't start a fight if you don't know the truth. Leon was with me, all this time. And only left after the sound of screams came to the hall. He couldn't have done anything." Vanessa finished her words, causing the students to go silent over this sudden reveal.
Color drained a bit from Kevin's face hearing this, and Amaya smiled more, becoming more and more sure of her doubts.
Vanessa was right, Leon was with her just before Levi started screaming. But with this statement she just jumped into the hole Rio dug for her.
'Since you want to protect him so much, let's see you fall too.' He thought as he walked in front of her and started speaking with a smile that seemed gentle on the surface and mocking in the eyes of Vanessa.
"Miss Belmont, I get that this guy is your new 'friend' these days, but you don't need to cover up his crime." Rio said, "Especially when the truth is out for everyone to see."
"What lies? He was with me…"
"For a while, but then he left and never returned."
Vanessa wanted to speak something, but Rio interrupted her and finished her sentence.
"I wasn't feeling well with the noise so he went to get me something to drink." Vanessa said honestly.
"Drinks are on the opposite side of where we are, miss Vanessa. Or are you saying that he was not only faster than everyone else to rush here after hearing the screams, but also broke and bypassed the academy doors, locked from inside in a few seconds time."
"Yeah, I bet he was already inside."
"See, even my angel said so, he's the culprit for real."
"Let's just drag him to the staff office and get him expelled. I don't want to be in the same class as a rapist. Who knows who'll be his next target."
"Fuck, just seeing his face disgusts me."
"Hey wait, I saw him staring at Rio a few times, do you think he's into boys too."
"What? We need to get him expelled ASAP."
Curses had started echoing like a chant as Rio stepped forward and talked against Leon.
"He was inside the room too. Do you think he can do those things?" Vanessa coldly said looking at Kevin, who as if already prepared for this question, brought out a black and white disc with a yin-yang pattern.
"It's a treasure that can help me bypass lower grade runes and class 3 arrays and below." Kevin said, showing the artifact to everyone. Quelling their doubts about him even before they rose into words.
"You see that Miss Vanessa, what now? Any other lie you want to speak for your friend, or maybe if he's right, you can convince him to show us what he was doing in that room Or how he got inside." Rio said, smirking in his heart as he noticed Vanessa looking at Leon hopefully thinking he probably has a similar treasure which helped him bypass those things, but Leon, instead of answering or meeting his gaze, turned his eyes away.
'Was I wrong about him?' Vanessa couldn't help but think, seeing Leon's hesitation. While Rio, who saw both their reactions, just smiled silently.
'How can a protagonist show his Trump card out in the open over little things like this.'
Leon looked at Rio angrily for a few seconds before turning to look at the broken door of that room, through which he could hear the footsteps coming out.
"Who's right and who's wrong, why don't you ask her instead. She's the victim, she can surely identify her assailant." Leon said, walking towards Levi with slow steps, whom Rebecca and Amelia brought out after calming down.
[Hahahaha poor idiot. He doesn't know how he got played.] System laughed as it enjoyed the naivety of Leon who failed to understand if his truth could so easily be ousted, then why would Kevin even lie for so much time.
