Kairen couldn’t let her get hurt because of him. He would see nightmares for three months if he did so.
By the time Reyan finally fixed his steps on the monster and turned towards Kairen and Asa, the two of them were far away from the monsters and Reyan.
Asa, now her back to Reyan, could see the behind that Kairen was unable to see. With a gasp, she clenched her eyes and screamed again.
“We are going to hit-”

The two of them slammed to a half-broken pillar.

Actually, it was only Kairen who hit the pillar as Asa was being held in his embrace. As a teenager with a small body, Kairen’s body completely shielded her.
Kairen gasped due to the pain that spread all around his body after hitting the pillar.
He was sure now, even if they were intact after falling from the stairs and getting hit by the explosion, his bones were now broken for sure.

Now that they had hit a pillar, the wind couldn’t push them back further. Aware of that fact, Asa hurriedly sat up and placed her hands on Kairen’s chest.

Asa activated her power as soon as she said that. Kairen could feel a strange sensation in his body before breathing slowly became easier for him once again.
Although he still had some pain and his chest felt heavy, his wounds were mostly healed.

Kairen opened his eyes again and thanked Asa while thinking that he had to befriend a healer as soon as possible if he had to keep getting beaten to a pulp in every mission.
He could see the girl looking at him with a strange face, but he didn’t care. There were two monsters trying to kill him so he didn’t have time to waste.
As soon as he moved his body and sat again, he cast another shield against Asa and himself although he knew that it wouldn’t be able to do much.
He could see Reyan wrapping his sword in his golden aura and stabbing the back of the monster again. After swinging his word and slashing the monster one last time, Reyan was forced to jump down from the back of the monster as the eagle started moving up in the air while shrieking.

It was at that moment that Kairen felt a harsh gust of wind pass through him. However, the wind was moving in the opposite direction from the air pressure caused by the monsters. It was almost as if the second wind was trying to fight against the first one.
