After communicating with Byron and Silas, Kyran connected to another one of his Sigils— Tritus.

Kyran had Tritus assist his family in saving the Courtenay and Lumley Families. He also wanted him to get used to his power as a newly advanced Legendary while he was there.

When they dealt with the matter at the Lumley Family's Ancestral Hall, Tritus joined the rest of the Regis Special Forces, who returned to the estate and awaited further instructions.

After returning to the Regis Estate, so many things happened at once that Tritus was slightly bewildered. In the end, he went along with the Regis Special Forces when Cade appeared and sent out orders one after another.

Soon after, they witnessed a powerful Space mage battling Jared's offensive array. And when that mage retreated to the floating land of Ravenpass, Tritus joined a group of five Special Forces to check the situation there.

Observing at a safe distance, Tritus and the Special Forces confirmed the presence of both the Space mage and the Crown Princess.

While it was already apparent that the Space mage was with the Crown Princess, witnessing a powerful mage talk and even appearing a little respectful around the latter surprised them.

After confirming that they had no means to deal with the two— especially when they saw the enormous ominous mirror floating above— Tritus and the Special Forces remained hidden and continued to observe the situation.

That was when Kyran contacted Tritus.

'Tritus.'

Tritus perked at once after hearing Kyran's voice in his head.

[Master.]

'Tell me the situation there,' Kyran asked without beating around the bush.

[Yes.]

Tritus gave a brief report of the situation in Ravenpass.

When Tritus confirmed Layla and Obstruction were together, and close to the Macabre Glacier, Kyran was concerned. He would rather see the two openly attack than stay in one place while calmly waiting for a big event to happen.

Nevertheless, Kyran already knew what they were waiting for. It was indeed good that Zephyr, Bas, and Mera had arrived to tell him what happened in Noser. If not, he would still be there contemplating whether he should personally investigate the movements outside the estate's Outer Walls or stay put and protect True Void during his awakening.

[Please give an order, Master. I will definitely fulfil it no matter the cost.]

Hearing Tritus's plea made Kyran smile wryly. Truth be told, he could order Tritus to make a preemptive attack on Layla and Obstruction. Since he was there, he was confident that the Sigil's effect would grant Tritus enough strength to fight the two without being overly disadvantaged. However, once he did, he had to be prepared to lose Tritus.

That was something Kyran did not want to happen. He was not afraid that Layla could turn Tritus into one of her 'minion.' Instead, he was worried Obstruction would isolate Tritus completely, and he would lose their connection.

While it was confirmed that Kyran's side had far more capable mages, they lacked in mage level. Even if he included his father among those with higher mage levels, it was not enough once Layla's forces gathered.

There was a phrase that went— quality over quantity. However, even the highest quality stone would break if hammered several times.

Besides, most of their forces were already worn out. Even if they had the assistance of the Solum Tribe, healing and assisting in replenishing their magic energies, they could not fully remove a body's fatigue.

Kyran collapsed before, and he was already considered a monster among humans. If this happened to average or little above-average mages, what would happen to them?

'Stay with the Special Forces and keep out of sight,' Kyran told Tritus after considering the current situation.

Though he had already asked his Sigils and the Aureole faction to locate the arrays Layla's forces were using to arrive in the Regis Estate's periphery, they were not enough. This was especially true if the Archmagus under Layla were included in the mix.

'There will be plenty of opportunity to attack when the right time comes.'

[Understood.]

Tritus paused and added, sounding slightly hesitant.

[Master, are you perhaps waiting for True Void's completion before making a move?]

Kyran raised his brows in surprise. He did not expect Tritus to know the Grand Array was connected with True Void.

'Yes,' Kyran replied.

Frankly, he did not know how True Void's awakening could improve their situation. But the latter's title as the Ultimate Weapon definitely amounted to something, which was what Kyran hoped for.

[I understand. I will await your next command, Master.]

Kyran only nodded in response.

Although Tritus could not see him, he sensed his confirmation.

After talking to Tritus, Kyran's narrowed his eyes and connected to two more Sigils he had not heard from for a while.

Max and Reuben!

Kyran was surprised to sense them because he remembered they were both in Ravenpass when Layla made a surprise attack. Apart from this, he did not sense them close to Ravenpass but outside the Regis Estate.

He did not contact them immediately because they were still far off his range. However, he did sense them and waited for them to get closer to the Sigil's area of effect before contacting them.

Of course, Kyran would have tried sending a coded message if he could. Unfortunately, the two did not seem to have any communication devices with them. As a matter of fact, now that he was able to sense them more clearly, he noticed they were in a somewhat sorry state.

[Master.]

Kyran was surprised when Max initiated the contact.

'You two appear to have a lot of things to share,' he started.

[Hm.]

[We do, actually.]

Max and Reuben replied, respectively.

'I'm all ears,' Kyran said. Then he smiled wryly because that was all he could do at the moment.

Listen.

[Surprise attack. Chaotic. Conclave people. Leave.]

Max was the first to start.

Reuben's face distorted slightly, knowing how much Max wanted to talk to Kyran. However, if he let him be, they would probably take a couple of hours.

[Allow me to explain, Max.]

[Hm.]

Max grunted in agreement. He wanted to say far too many things that he did not know where to start. Thus, leaving Reuben to explain was better.

On the other hand, Kyran did not interrupt them and only waited in silence.

Finally, Reuben explained what happened in Ravenpass before Layla's surprise attack,

Apparently, when Layla's forces attacked simultaneously in Noser, Lumley Ancestral Hall, and the Tower of Conclave, Euan and Malek had prepared people to send to these locations as additional support.

They even led a couple of these group and was about to leave when Layla attacked.

They were taken by surprise when the Macabre Glacier appeared in the sky. However, its activation took some time, thus, Euan and Malek took this chance to send out some of their people.

Ultimately, Noir told Euan and Malek to leave Ravenpass and hide. He and the other leaders would stay behind and act as bait.

Malek was not fond of the plan but knew Noir made sense. Thus, he and Euan, along with several of their forces, left, while Noir and the other leaders led the remaining forces to protect the non-combatant members of the Regis Clan.

Max and Reuben were one of the few who remained in Ravenpass. They witnessed how Noir and the rest fell one after another to the Macabre Glacier's power.

However, for some unknown reasons, Max and Reuben were unaffected.

Seeing it was futile to resist and was better to leave in one piece, Max and Reuben escaped along with a few Regis Clan members.

Unfortunately, the Macabre Glacier had already taken Noir and most of the remaining Army and Conclave members, so Max and Reuben could only leave them behind.

After leaving, they found a safe location for the Regis Clan members to hide. Then Max and Reuben left for the Regis Estate.

It took them a while to arrive at the estate, and they were in such a sorry state because they encountered several beasts in the forest. They also recently encountered small groups of army soldiers and even elites from noble families.

During their escape, they lost most of their items, which explains why they had no communication devices with them.

After hearing what happened to Ravenpass, Kyran was somewhat distressed, especially after Reuben confirmed that Noir, most Regis members, Conclave members, and Army soldiers under Mannick's command had fallen victim to the Macabre Glacier.

Nevertheless, knowing that Euan and Malek actually left before the Macabre Glacier got hold of them relieved Kyran.

But the question now was, where did they go? How come they had not heard from them after they left Ravenpass?

Could they have met trouble while trying to escape?

As soon as the thought crossed his mind, Kyran rejected it. They likely encountered forest beasts along the way. And if their destination had been the Regis Estate, they probably encountered small groups of army soldiers and noble families just like Max and Reuben.

Still, even if this was the case, Euan and Malek were both Magus. It would have been impossible for them to have been defeated by low-ranked mages.

In the end, Kyran could only put aside the matter of where Euan and Malek had gone and focused on what Max and Reuben should do.
