"To dare take Void Halfling's magic energy in my presence! You have guts of steel!" True Void shouted with such boldness and conviction, yet somehow the impact was not met due to his small frame. Not to mention, his last sentence seemed a little off. There was a saying about nerves of steel but guts— was there even a phrase like that?

Nevertheless, the suction force at which True Void's small frame had released could not be underestimated. Because in just a short span of time, the magic energies in the surroundings already gathered around him, forming a huge and mighty vortex.

Obstruction's countenance changed as soon as he felt how True Void absorbed the surrounding magic energies as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Luckily, Obstruction's robe had an effect wherein it prevented outside force from absorbing his internal magic energy. Nevertheless, the fact that he could still sense his magic energy leaking out of his body was a testament of how potent True Void's absorption move was.

'No,' Obstruction suddenly paused as he recalled something. He actually recognized True Void even if the latter's form was different. Unlike Kyran who he could not sense completely, Obstruction sensed True Void's aura and he recognized him as the previous Dark Sage's weapon.

When True Void called Kyran 'Void Halfling,' Obstruction already confirmed his identity.

In any case, Obstruction could not help but look at True Void in amusement.

Initially, he was wary of the new Dark Sage because he was not aware if he already acquired all of the legacy left by the previous Dark Sage.

One such legacy was the Macabre Glacier Caelan inherited from the first Dark Sage.

Fortunately, the current Soul Emperor had already acquired it. Because of this, they no longer require the new Dark Sage to be on board with their plan. In the first place, they only wanted him to join their side because of the Macabre Glacier.

Although there was a rumor stating that whichever faction the Dark Sage belonged would definitely win the War of the Sovereigns, that was only because he possessed the Macabre Glacier.

Since it was already in the possession of the current Soul Emperor, then Obstruction only needed to settle her affairs in the Human plane before taking her along.

Obstruction had already known that the current Soul Emperor had a beef with the new Dark Sage. Even if Deception did everything she could to hide this fact, their Leader was no fool. Because of this, he had Obstruction intervene.

In any case, Obstruction knew he would not be able to kill Kyran, and to be honest, he also did not have such intentions. If he had a choice he would rather take Kyran back in his plane alive and study his Void magic.

But Obstruction was still concerned about the other legacy Kyran might have inherited from his predecessor— the ultimate weapon, True Void. If Kyran had True Void, then Obstruction could only forget his idea of taking Kyran alive.

At least, that had been the case until Obstruction saw True Void's small frame. Since he did not have to deal with him in his true form then he might really get a chance to take Kyran back alive.

With this in mind, Obstruction did not waste any more time.

The three rings on his back connected once more, forming a huge disc. Then the rune writings embedded on it rotated at an alarming speed and affected the space around them.

Kyran, who barely escaped from the clawed hand Obstruction conjured by distorting the space, saw the change in the latter's rings. He knew Obstruction was about to unleash a magic attack.

True Void was somewhat surprised when he realized Obstruction was only slightly affected by his absorption ability.

'If he can still produce internal magic energy, it means he had a huge reservoir in his body because of his mage level,' True Void thought with an inward sigh. 'If only I am in my true body, this guy will never be able to do this!'

What True Void said might sound like boasting but it was actually true.

True Void would not have been called the Ultimate Weapon if he would become useless just because the enemy had certain immunity to his abilities.

Although Kyran was unable to fully decipher the rotating rune writings on Obstruction's disc, he still saw bits and pieces of its context and guessed what the latter was about to do.

Isolation Space.

Obstruction planned on isolating Kyran away from True Void.

Kyran did not think Obstruction was doing this because he was afraid of True Void. He likely believed that dealing with them one at a time was better than have them team up against him.

Obstruction probably believed that Kyran's mastery over Void magic had yet to reach a level wherein he could battle a mage with high mage level and evolved innate Space magic.

And Obstruction's belief was on point.

Kyran did think that if they fought without reservation, they would probably end up in a stalemate. Simply because his mage level was too low.

To be precise, it was undetermined but obviously not at a level that could compete with a Sovereign on par with Ruin.

Nevertheless, Kyran was unafraid. It was not because he knew Void magic was far superior than Space magic but because he was not depended on it alone.

As soon as Kyran confirmed that the Shaiha had stabilized after the Macabre Glacier lost its influence over it, he immediately circulated his magic energy in his body. His eyes turned silver and in a blink of an eye, the color of his armor interchanged with the silver accents becoming the main color and the dark purple becoming the accents.

That was right.

Kyran also possessed Draconic magic, which he already knew could overwhelm even the Void magic!

This would be Kyran's first time using Draconic magic as the main energy when molding his armor, with Void magic enhancing it

Not only that, it would also be the first time he would openly use Draconic magic to deal with an outsider!

Ignoring the distortion that started to close in on Kyran, he took a step toward Obstruction and sent out a fist.

Obstruction failed to react in time and was sent flying backward.

'T-This…! What just happened?' Obstruction was flabbergasted at Kyran's sudden attack. Although he was not hurt by this attack because his innate ability, which was to form a space distortion around his body when his life was in danger, activated in time.

But because his innate ability activated, Obstruction knew how terrifying Kyran's attack just now had been.

Was that a normal physical attack?

No.

It was definitely an attack filled with magic.

But was this something that Void magic could do?

Definitely not!

The disc behind Obstruction shifted and split into two medium rings. In an instant, several three-meter radius space distortions appeared within a hundred meters of him.

However.

BAM!

"Errgh…!"

Obstruction was sent skidding to the right after Kyran appeared to his left and performed a roundhouse kick.

'Impossible!' Obstruction was shocked.

There were several space distortions surrounding him. If Kyran had warped, these distortions would have affected its accuracy. Apart from this, if Kyran failed to appear in the location he planned to, he might end up reappearing close to a space distortion. When that happened, Obstruction would have willed the destruction of that space distortion which would gravely injured Kyran.

However, not only did Kyran avoid the space distortion, he appeared beside Obstruction without the latter noticing it until he was already sent flying.

Obstruction used one of the space distortions he summoned to break his momentum.

The two rings behind Obstruction reattached themselves, turning back to the huge disc once more, before they split into three.

As the rune writings embedded on these rings rotated, semi-transparent clawed hands emerged from the space distortions and attacked Kyran.

Seeing the overwhelming number of these clawed hands, one would have already panicked and might even retreated in a safe distance.

However, Kyran did not show signs of panic. His expression remained unreadable. He took a step just before a semi-transparent clawed hand was about to crash down on him.

Dragon Step!

One step was all it took for Kyran to reappear right in front of Obstruction. He clenched his fist and integrated more Void magic energy on his fist before punching the latter on the face.

Just like the first one, Obstruction failed to react in time. However, he was not that worried because he knew his innate ability would activate if his life was in danger.

As expected, space distortion enveloped Obstruction.

When Kyran's fist touched the distortion, Obstruction was left speechless.

Like a fragile glass, the space distortion protecting Obstruction shattered and Kyran's fist landed squarely on his face.

"Gah!"

Blood spurted out of his nose as he was sent flying backward.
