CLANG!

Gael's hands were forced back as the scythe appeared to have hit a solid metal-like object.

"What—?"

Fooom!

An unfamiliar aura surged from Kyran's body, spreading out in every direction.

"Guah—!" Gael spat out a mouthful of blood after getting hit by the full force of Kyran's aura. He withdrew into the shadow he emerged from so as to avoid worsening the injuries he received.

That was right. With a single sweep of Kyran's aura, Gael actually received internal injuries!

Kyran's aura reached Osric's side, shocking the latter and all the mages with him. A few mages behind Osric also fell on their knees and spat out blood.

Osric had thought they already had Kyran up against the wall. Thus, he should be barely getting by from Gael's attack. Osric did not expect Kyran could still release such a powerful aura that could affect those with low-level magic attainments!

Because there were mages affected by Kyran's aura, the pressure from Osric and they had released abated.

Though the decrease was not that much, it was enough for Kyran to activate his magic sense again.

He was not planning on covering the maximum range of his magic sense but only around the Tower of Conclave's periphery. He had done this because he had guessed that Osric and the rest of the enemy mages had released their magic pressure to disrupt his magic sense because they were plotting something.

Gael's appearance and the strange shadow minions were also part of that plot.

The plot was not as simple as them wanting to detain Kyran. Instead, it only proved that they had prepared a bigger ploy.

They wanted to prevent Kyran from using his magic sense and detain him here because they probably planned on infiltrating the Tower of Conclave behind his back.

As to how they would do that, Kyran did not know— at least, not at the moment.

When Kyran's magic sense, which his Draconic magic had amplified, spread into the Tower of Conclave and its periphery, he discovered movements underground.

Kyran paused and frowned slightly. He delved his magic sense further into the underground location he had just sensed. However, he soon discovered that there was nothing there and that the movements he discovered continued to move forward.

'Don't tell me...!' Kyran's eyes widened in realization as he thought of a possibility.

There was no movement 'underground,' but within the land!

Basically, those who planned to infiltrate the Tower of Conclave had blended into the land and moved toward the Tower of Conclave.

This had been one of the flaws of the Tower of Conclave's defensive array. It was a powerful defensive array that could counter and even nullify enemy attacks. However, their attacks had to land on the defensive array's barrier in order to activate. If an attack or movement failed to pass through the barrier, it would not activate.

The barrier of the Tower of Conclave's defensive array also permeated into the ground. However, it would not recognize the 'ground' as hostile. So if a mage had the ability to turn himself into 'earth' and blend into the ground, there was a good chance the defensive array would not recognize him or her as hostiles.

At the moment, what was happening was precisely that.

A number of people merged with the land and planned to enter the Tower of Conclave from there.

Kyran was astonished by this. After all, a low-level mage could not physically turn himself or herself into the element of their innate magic. Only when they attained a certain level and higher enlightenment would they be able to do it.

That was the case with Osric and how he learned to turn himself into water.

Even if Kyran considered the possibility that those people were not using their innate magic and were using a unique ability, what were the chances that such a person— not to mention several of them— had the same abilities? In the first place, if more people had the same unique ability, it could no longer be called 'unique.'

Kyran pushed his doubts aside and immediately turned back. Given the urgency of the situation, he had no time to think through his doubts.

As soon as he turned, he took a step forward. In a blink of an eye, he appeared directly in front of the Tower of Conclave. After that, he stomped one foot on the ground. Because his Draconic magic had merged into his Void Armor, the ground did not disintegrate from his stomp. Instead, huge web-like cracks appeared on the ground because of the force coming from Kyran's leg.

It was as if a huge beast had done that stomp rather than a human.

This stomp was one of the moves Kyran learned during his training in the Tower of Tribulations. However, it was the first time he used it with the Draconic and Void magic combined force.

TREMOR! CRACKLE!

There was a slight delay before the ground trembled violently.

After that, silhouettes emerged from the ground, landing with a loud thud.

"Guah!"

"Argh!"

Agonized cries were followed by retching sounds as the silhouettes hunched forward and vomited blood.

Kyran's eyes narrowed as he got a better look at the figures of the silhouettes.

These guys wore all-black coats similar to the ones worn by the people he fought in Hanaan!

The Royal Army's Special Ops!

Kyran recalled what Nolan had said about the Royal Army conducting experiments and that most of the subjects were from the Special Ops.

Now Kyran knew how several people could have the capability to blend into 'earth.' It was likely an ability the Royal Army Research Department had experimented on and injected into the bodies of these Special Ops members.

Meanwhile, several figures in black coats appeared in the Lumley Ancestral Hall after the unexpected explosion. After this, these figures attacked the Regis Special Force and the remaining Courtenay and Lumley members, who could still fight.

The Regis Special Forces and a few Courtenay and Lumley leaders recognized these figures immediately.

The Royal Army's Special Ops.

However, as far as they knew, the Royal Army's Special Ops number did not exceed ten members. Why were there more than thirty there?

In the end, the Regis Special Forces and the Courtenay and Lumley members put this question aside and focused on the matter at hand. A few minutes after the appearance of the Special Ops, the Regis Special Forces also learned why the number of enemy mages did not seem to be decreasing.

Similar to what Kyran had encountered, quite a number of enemy mages were actually using dummies. No matter how many times the Special Forces killed them, they would come back to life.

It was then that the leaders from the Regis, Courtenay and Lumley Families finally discovered the threat of the Soul Emperor.

Aron, Jared and the other leaders tried their best to deal with the 'undying' dummies. Unfortunately, since none of them had the Void magic's nature of turning anything it touches into nothingness, they were unable to destroy the dummies.

Back in the Tower of Conclave, Osric, all the mages with him, and Gael felt the violent tremor and knew something had happened to their 'Trump Card.'

"Execute plan B!" Osric commanded at once.

All the Exalted released the full force of their magic and immediately flew above.

Then the Grand Masters below sat down before releasing their magic energy.

If one looked from afar, the positioning of the Grand Masters below and the Exalted above actually formed a huge array formation.

Osric's eyes flashed red, and a three-layered light blue with gold magic array appeared behind him. Soon the magic energies released by the Exalted and Grand Masters gathered around them before rushing into the magic array. After which, the outer layer of the magic array began to rotate. A few seconds later, the second inner layer also started to rotate. Finally, the last central layer also rotated.

Soon, all three layers' rotation picked up speed.

These three layers represented what the Grand Masters and the Exalted were 'transferring' to Osric.

Magic Energy. Magic Experience. Magic Attainment.

Because of this, Osric's power rose to a higher level. He was a top Legendary mage. But as he continued to receive these three from all the mages behind him, his mage level rose and was now close to a peak Legendary. If he continued to receive all the magic energies, experiences and attainments from the mages, Osric's power might even reach the Sage level!

Osric waved his hand, and his magic staff appeared.

The moment it appeared, the magic energy around him fluctuated.

It seemed that when his magic increased, his magic staff's sentient also received an increase in power. The bluish-white sea serpent's projection appeared and roared as it circled Osric.

Kyran's eyes narrowed as he sensed what Osric and his men were doing.

A few Special Ops on the ground finally recovered and attacked Kyran at once.

They had not given up yet.
