'This can't be happening!' Gemini thought in disbelief.

In her opinion, the only reason Nolan could crush them like insignificant ants was his new identity as the Human plane's Sovereign. Apart from that, their mage levels had already dropped, lowering their magic attack outputs.

Initially, Gemini and the other Sovereigns believed that even if their magic level was restrained, they could deal with Nolan if they worked together.

They were confident their teamwork was enough to oust a newly advanced Sovereign. Besides, when they fought outside the Human plane, they were already familiar with what Nolan could do.

Apart from creating random gigantic items and almost impenetrable defense, Gemini and the others were convinced Nolan did not possess the means to deal with them all.

Alas, they unexpectedly experienced a jarring outcome after witnessing how perverse Nolan's magic truly was.

Nolan's magic was not as simple as being able to create things for offense or defense. It was all about being able to manipulate elements in the surroundings.

Doesn't this make him a very formidable mage? He could very well be more powerful than the new Dark Sage!

Of course, the latter was only their conjecture because they had little information about what the new Dark Sage could do.

Because Club, Gemini, and Frock were momentarily in a daze, they barely reacted in time when the gigantic golem slammed its fists toward them.

"Ngh—!"

RAWRGH!

The ground shook from the gigantic golem's fists, leaving another fist-shaped crater.

By then, Squall's body had been dismantled by Nolan completely. His eyes turned icy blue as he manipulated the particles from Squall's body and had them merge with the golem.

RAWRGH!

The gigantic golem uttered a guttural cry as several huge blades in a circular formation emerged on its back.

Sizzle! Crackle! Crackle!

With the gigantic golem's body hunched forward, dense magic energy gathered at the center where the tip of the blades was connected.

The magic fluctuations in the surroundings intensified as the magic energy on the golem's back grew in size.

Meanwhile, Club, Gemini, and Frock, who was thrown several meters from the gigantic golem's prior attack, had only regained their balance when they sensed the magic fluctuations in the surroundings. Their bodies trembled with fear when they saw the gigantic golem's appearance because it looked similar to Squall before he was destroyed, except for its black steel body.

What did this mean? Nolan's magic enabled him to recreate Squall's fan-like blades and their ability to gather and generate powerful lightning-like strikes!

"Retreat!" Gemini shouted, and without waiting for Club to respond, she, with Frock, sped toward the hole in the sky.

Squall's offensive magic was considered one of the most destructive among the current Sovereigns in the Lower Realm, just as Calx's defensive magic was one of the most powerful. Nevertheless, both had fallen because their bodies were a bad match against Nolan's perverse magic.

Seeing Nolan utilizing Squall's offensive attack, Club, Gemini, and Frock were not confident they could withstand it.

Even if they joined forces and tried to attack the golem before it finished gathering magic energy, Nolan would definitely not sit idle and let them do as they pleased.

Because of this, Gemini deemed the best course of action was to retreat, regroup with Obstruction and let him know what happened.

Nolan snorted upon seeing the Club, and Gemini— with Frock still covering her whole body, sped towards the hole in the sky.

He raised his hand toward the hole, and the Sovereign's Cradle hovering beneath the hole emitted an almost blinding light.

"Not good! He's planning to fix the hole!" Gemini exclaimed.

Club roused his magic and summoned thousands of clubs. After which, it attacked the cracks at the hole's edges with the intention of stalling the cradle from fixing it.

Shatter! Shatter!

The clubs successfully shattered the cracks. However, the speed at which these clubs shattered the hole's edges was slightly slower than the cradle's fixing momentum.

Seeing this, Gemini and Frock also attacked. Several threads flew out from Gemini's body, originating from Frock, and connected to the hole's edges. After that, she also waved her hand and pulled at the threads, intending to keep the hole from closing.

"Fast! Leave the plane first!" Gemini shouted again, and they continued to fly toward the hole.

Club also sped up. But it continued to summon clubs that bombarded the sky.

WOOOSH! CRACKLE! BOOM!

However, while the three were focused on escaping, they failed to monitor the gigantic golem's progress. This was why when they heard something speed past them, the next thing they heard was a loud crackling sound followed by a massive explosion.

They were not even given a chance to react to it before all three of them were engulfed by a powerful lightning-filled beam.

Several shockwaves spread out in every direction following the massive explosion.

RAWRGH!

The gigantic golem, which had just released several dense magic energy beams at the three Sovereigns, roared as if in pleasure.

But then, Nolan's eyes flashed, and he flew toward the explosion.

Several battered threads flew out from within the explosion and went straight into the hole. It then attached itself to something from the outside.

With a powerful tug, the thread pulled out a battered Gemini and Frock.

"Tsk," Nolan clicked his tongue as he went after the two.

But then, his eyes widened as he sensed an incoming danger. He abruptly stopped just in time when a massive distortion appeared in front of him.

Nolan's black cloak immediately shifted and covered him as flames emerged from within the distortion.

BOOM!

The flames erupted, engulfing Nolan in an instant.

RAWRGH!

The gigantic golem roared as it raised its massive hands toward the explosion. But when its hand reached a certain distance, a massive ball of light appeared, destroying its hands the moment the light touched them.

RAWRGH!

The gigantic golem roared in anger as it raised its head and looked at a location near the hole.

It was then that a figure appeared, dressed in a white with gold accent robe.

"Sorry, I can't let you go after them," the figure said.

The figure was none other than Light.

After watching both sides battle it out, she had quietly waited for an opportunity to join in.

In any case, she had to return with Gemini and the others back to their headquarters. She might have an agreement with Kyran, but she deemed it unnecessary to stay in the Human plane with how things were. Leaving did not break her agreement with Kyran anyway; thus, she was not afraid the mark would punish her for it.

Nolan emerged from the flames and was about to attack Light when the latter raised her hands and said, "I have no intention of invading, new Sovereign of the Human plane. I am only here to help my faction mates escape."

"No intention of invading? Don't f*ck with me."

"I assure you I won't," Light told him. "I already had an agreement with Kyran."

Nolan stopped and looked at Light with doubt in his eyes.

"Obstruction is the one who sent those flames," Light continued, not bothered by the fact Nolan did not believe her. "That is Toad's flames, by the way, and with the cradle in effect again, it is not as powerful.

"However, Obstruction has a way of ensuring Toad's flames enter the Human plane while retaining its power. When that happens, even if it already has a new Sovereign, the plane would suffer at least 10-15% damage."

Nolan narrowed his eyes, "So the bastard's magic is not as simple as Space magic."

"That's right."

"You are the first one who entered the Human plane."

"Yes," Light replied with a bitter smile. "And I suffered in the hands of the new Dark Sage."

Nolan did not respond and only looked at her dubiously.

"Anyhow, let us go and I assure you I will do everything to keep my faction mates from coming back here."

Because Layla was only using an essence for a body, she could not fully use her magic. That was why she could only attack White Lily with Soul Scan or Soul Chain. Unfortunately, the latter had excellent defenses, making it hard for the former to touch her soul.

The diamond lily on White Lily's feet continued to protect her from Layla's attacks. At the same time, White Lily continued to summon white lilies that shot out concentrated magic energy beams at Layla.

Layla was forced to fly around and avoid the magic energy beams while looking for a crack in White Lily's defenses and using the Soul Chain to bind her soul.

Alas, even after several minutes, Layla failed to see that crack,

'She must have found a suitable mage to form a contract with!' Layla thought, convinced that White Lily had a human contractor.

If this was true, Layla only needed to deal with the human contractor to force White Lily back to the Spirit World.
