[MyPhantom has joined the party]

30 minutes had gone by since the hide-and-seek event began, and too many notifications of survivors eliminated had appeared in Hiro’s HUD system.

Even without checking, it was clear that the hunter team had collected more points than the survivor team.

Meanwhile, Hiro had just gotten a new companion that kept following him like a duckling. The girl even took one of his daggers to use as a weapon.

Hiro didn’t mind that, though. After all, the girl was clearly proficient in wielding a dagger as a rogue. What he did mind, however, was the game points he lost as a result.

Every time he found an unlit torch, he had to share it with her, cutting the points he could obtain from them by half.

‘Damn it… I’ll lose at this rate.’ Hiro kicked the tendril-covered wall in annoyance.

At this moment, a scream sounded from afar.

“Kyaaa!”

Without much thought, Hiro swiftly dashed toward the source of the scream. MyPhantom immediately followed, matching his speed right behind him.

Despite their speed, their steps made no sound as if their feet didn’t touch the ground.

After running about 100 meters in the scream’s direction, Hiro caught sight of a strange figure in the darkness.

He immediately stopped the rogue behind him and made a gesture for her to keep quiet.

By taking a closer look, he found that the strange figure was a large man carrying two girls on his shoulders like a heavyweight wrestler.

“Let me go!”

“Let me go!”

The rogue lady next to him growled in displeasure and harshly pushed the hand blocking her way to attack the man.

“Wait, MyPhantom.” Hiro still insisted on blocking her.

“I am not your phantom. My name is Cara,” the girl hissed in response for the first time.

Cara.

Hiro just realized that he hadn’t asked her name. To him, using their username was the right way to call someone in a game. However, it was true that some usernames were a little strange to use as a way to call someone.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that,” Hiro quickly explained. He didn’t want to be labeled as a person overly affectionate to everyone.

His eyes then moved to check their surroundings and monitor the hunter’s next moves.

Even though the large man was able to carry two powerlessly struggling girls at once, from how slow his steps were, he seemed to be having a bit of a hard time.

This gave Hiro some time to think.

His current goal was to accumulate as many points as possible while sacrificing as little as possible, maybe even none if he could.

If he waited until the two girls were tied to the rocket pole before saving them, he would be able to gain 20 points immediately.

It was quite a significant number.

However, if the two girls turned out to be very weak and got caught for the second time, the survivor team as a whole would be disadvantaged. After all, if a survivor got caught for the second time, they would be eliminated upon being tied to an elimination rocket.

But he wasn’t alone. And he always had a way.

“Cara, can you take care of those two?”

“Me? Of course. I would never let a woman be treated like that by a man.” Cara disdainfully glared at the man a distance away from them.

Hiro inwardly smirked.

‘So she’s a feminist.’

Women support women. He could take advantage of that.

“I’ll free them. If you want to stay safe, you have to wait here. Wait for my signal, got it?”

Even though she was reluctant, she had no other choice. She couldn’t afford to get caught for the second time.

“All right.”

Hiro had caught a glimpse of the thin and tall shadows on the ground in front of him. He was sure that those shadows were of the rocket poles the hunter was going for.

He carefully walked toward the two poles. However, upon noticing the hunter coming closer, Hiro sped up his steps while making sure not to make any noise.

Although the distance between him and the poles was far less than the man and the hidden poles, there was not enough time for Hiro to destroy the rockets. Not to mention, the noises would alert the hunter.

He then decided to crouch in a corner of the tendril-covered wall. After making sure that the dark shadow was covering him, he even held his breath and began counting.

1…

2…

[Survivor: 1 survivor has been eliminated]

3…

4…

[Survivor: 1 survivor has been eliminated]

5…

The man Hiro was after finally arrived in front of the two unoccupied rocket poles and let out a long sigh.

“I’m getting that dragon,” he muttered full of confidence.

[Level 20. Darkhell. Knight. Licensed Traveler]

“I said let me go!” one of the girls shouted and continued to struggle. Alas, she was too weak to free herself.

Hiro waited until the two girls were tied onto the rocket pole in front of him. He only had three minutes to free the two and fight the knight with only a dagger in his hand, but this was a game; he had to take risks.

Hiro gulped as he estimated his possibility of successfully executing the two tasks.

As usual, he peeked at the equipment the hunter was wearing to guess his opponent’s strength.

Fully geared, with a level 15 tier B greatsword.

[Great Iron Sword]

[Damage 94 Accuracy 10]

Hiro sighed in relief. At least his opponent didn’t have an OP weapon.

A second after the man finished tying up the two girls to the rocket pole, the wick began to burn and the rocket started operating.

At the same time, Hiro dashed out of the shadow and crashed onto the knight who had turned around to look out for other survivors.

Bang!

Hiro’s base stats were higher than the man and his STR was above average. With his physical strength, he managed to make the man kiss the ground.

“What—”

SPLAT!

Hiro used his dagger to slash the man’s wide back until he screamed in pain.

“Arghhh!”

SPLAT!

With two slashes, blood started to spray and flow out of the man’s back. He then rolled his body to the side due to the pain he got on his back.

Meanwhile, making use of the opportunity as the man rolled on the ground, Hiro quickly stood up to free the two girls shouting for him to rescue them.

“Help me!”

“Please save me!”

[Survivor: NightFall has saved 2 survivors]

[NightFall has obtained 20 points]

“Go that way, you’ll be safe.”

Hiro pointed to the direction where Cara was waiting, and without a word, the two girls nodded and ran in the direction he pointed to.

Hiro found it a little worrying that they trusted him so easily, but he didn’t dwell on the thought.

“You! The fucking audacity to steal my prey!” The man had unsheathed his greatsword and pointed it to Hiro, who was standing between the two eliminator rockets, waiting.

“So? Are you going to kill me? Do it if you can!” Hiro provoked.

He intentionally didn’t take out his dagger to anger the hunter.

As expected, the man furiously swung his greatsword toward Hiro at full force.

“You, piece of shit!”
