Boom! Kaboom!

The game had started, and it was more terrifying than Hiro had imagined, especially the weapon that Liberty wielded. It could cast anything. No need to be a mage to make it work.

Because she couldn’t pull out a legendary weapon, Liberty then took out a bazooka just as the spider-shaped monster got a dice with a number that allowed it to approach Liberty. There was only one floor square left before the spider-shaped monster got near her.

It was no ordinary chess game. The system words earlier were true. Because even though the four of them played with the roles commonly used on the chessboard, they were given a pair of dice to play with instead. The maximum number that they could get from the two dice was 12.

And the game of chess turned into a game of snakes and ladders. However, there were no snakes and no ladders because they walked according to their role’s movement pattern.

The effect of snakes or ladders could be created by using various types of attacks that could be carried out by players, like what Liberty just did.

The girl seemed to enjoy the game, which made her feel a little nostalgic.

With a very powerful bazooka shot, the spider monster was thrown away until its body crashed into the wall in the corner of the room. Away from the door that became its destination.

“Ha ha ha… look at me, Hiro!” Liberty exclaimed excitedly, having a little trouble lifting her very heavy weapon.

Although Liberty was equipped with a long-range weapon, there was still one rule in the game that prevented her from using her weapon at any time. The ranged weapons could only be used for players standing at least 3 squares on the floor.

In addition, the weapon could only be used once in one roll of the dice for all four players.

“It’s your turn, Hiro!”

Hiro exhaled heavily.

The number of dice the players would get was random and only based on luck. He had to strike a damage meter that was shaped like a boxing glove, and it appeared in front of him every time it was his turn to move. The greater the damage calculated … the greater the chance for Hiro to get a large of the total number.

Hiro’s current position was closer to the door than Liberty. Because he managed to get the number 12 out of the dice many times.

Hiro readied his spear, concentrating all his physical strength on his two hands. His eyes looked straight at the boxing gloves in front of him and chose a point to attack.

Bang!

[Total damage 259,000]

[New Record!]

[12 total dice guaranteed]

Hiro managed to get 12 points again, and he immediately moved across the square-shaped floor with the movement pattern forming the letter ‘L’. He had to estimate the closest distance and correctly count the number of squares left, so he could reach the white door at the right time.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

The unicorn that Hiro had to ride could walk fast. It got closer to the white door.

[Your turn is over]

Now, it was the demonic woman’s turn to move. It chose a Bishop, so it walked sideways. The demonic woman’s strength was almost twice that of the zombie spider, so its position was between Liberty and Hiro.

Crash!

[Total damage 150,500]

[New Record!]

The monster managed to get the total number of 10. And instead of choosing a path to approach the black door, it chose another path that it could take. From the distance of the squares, it would arrive one square near Hiro.

“Hiro, be careful!” Liberty cried, realizing the monster’s evil plan.

<0,>?,?l Hiro already knew and was prepared for it. Unfortunately, he was not allowed to descend from the unicorn while the game was playing. And even worse, he had to protect the unicorn at the same time.

Whoosh!

The demonic woman dashed swiftly through the 10 black floor squares and arrived at the last box. Its right hand was stretched out along with the lengthening of its pointed fingernails. The target wasn’t Hiro, but the unicorn’s neck.

Hiro jumped to his feet on the Unicorn’s back, and he quickly threw the demon’s hand away with a spear like a bat.

Bang!

The demon beast’s attempt failed. And it had lost its chance to strike again.

“Good job, Hiro!” Liberty exclaimed. She was pleased to see the man could overpower the demonic woman.

And now, it was the girl’s turn to play.

[Lucky!]

[You got 12!]

Before Liberty could move from the floor she stepped on, Hiro told her to stop.

“Why?” asked Liberty, looking a bit confused. Hiro shook his head, then calculated again Liberty’s current and later position when the girl used those 12 steps.

“Libe, come this way!” Hiro asked while pointing the way for Liberty to choose. It was a slanted path like the demon monster did.

From Hiro’s count, with 12 steps, Liberty would be 3 floor squares with him, and he already had an idea to try something so that victory could be obtained faster.

Liberty nodded and walked towards the square shown by Hiro while counting the number of the steps.

12.

Liberty was standing in the last box and then looked back at Hiro questioningly.

[You can attack the two closest players]

[Choose one]

“Me!” Hiro exclaimed, making Liberty a bit surprised.

“Attack me!” Hiro exclaimed again, clarifying his orders.

Liberty looked at him in disbelief as she held up the heavy bazooka in her hands.

“Yes, Libe. Attack me. But, aim your gun properly. Push me to that door!” Hiro exclaimed while pointing at the white door, which was still about 10 meters from his current position.

“Huh?” Liberty didn’t seem to like Hiro’s idea.

“Please. We just need one of us to get to that door.” Hiro pleaded.

The girl raised her gun at Hiro. In the end, she agreed. But still, both of her hands seemed to be slightly trembling.

“Hiro, what if I miss?” Liberty asked, doubting her own abilities.

“No, you won’t miss it!” Hiro replied, completely trusting the girl. Hiro knew that Liberty was very good at aiming her gun. He was sure that Liberty must have had shooting and archery classes before. Because that girl knew very well how to hold a weapon and use it.

“I’m scared.”

“No, don’t be. Just hit me!” Hiro nodded his head, trying to convince the girl to shoot him right away.

[Hurry up!]

[Choose your target to attack!]

Booom!

Hiro could feel a tremendous beat hit his chest. He wasn’t even ready to endure the pain that was coming.

“Hoek.” Hiro vomited blood while kneeling on the floor after his back hit the wall until his bones made a crack sound.

Even so, he was still alive. It was just an effect that looked very exaggerated from the game. Even Hiro’s health points were still green, indicating that his health points were still in a safe number.
