Hiro managed to make their laughter turn into screams and shrieks of fright as his sword flew up and slashed at the neck of the player with the oldest appearance among the rest.

Splat!

[Fatal Damage]

The man’s head was blown away along with the sword that fell on the ground. Blood immediately gushed out and made the sand turn crimson red.

Ding!

[You have activated duel mode in this arena]

[2 vs 2]

[The prize for the winner of this duel is an exit secret door]

Whoosh!

Hiro dashed to retrieve his sword. His icy cold eyes turned to look for his next victim. There were only two remaining male players who had pulled out their weapons. They were holding those weapons with trembling hands.

“2?” Hiro said while reading the notification he had just received. His eyes reflexively turned to look at Liberty, and the girl was getting up again while coughing.

[Your party member: Liberty has been revived]

Hiro smiled. The worry in his heart instantly disappeared. The girl’s avatar was still getting special privilege from the game developer. It looked like Hiro would have to thank Dr. Johnson this time.

“Hiro, I’m sorry… What happened? Kyaaa!”

The girl screamed frantically when she saw the headless body collapsed at her feet. She immediately stood up and ran away from the terrible thing.

“Stay back. I’ll finish this soon, and we’ll continue our journey,” Hiro said again, looking at his two enemies who were standing on different sides. The difference in the distance between the two was no more than two meters, so Hiro could slash both of them in one hit.

“Oh my! Forgive us! Your girlfriend is alive again, right? Let us go… we promise not to bother you again.” One player had fallen to his knees and begged for Hiro’s forgiveness. What an unexpected choice.

However, it seemed… his comrade didn’t want to lower his pride just to get forgiveness. He quickly dashed towards Hiro with a dagger in his hand. He was a rogue player who was still level 50, no match with Hiro.

Whoosh!

Clank!

Hiro raised his sword towards the dagger that came aiming for his neck. Without the need to hold his sword firmly, Hiro was able to stop the dagger easily and accurately.

“Too-soo.”

Splatt!

The dagger in the man’s hand fell down with a fist that was perfectly clenched after Hiro swung his sword at the player’s wrist and cut it without the slightest doubt.

The player’s blood splattered towards Hiro’s body, and Hiro kicked him so that the man fell backwards.

The man immediately took out the remaining health potion he had. With his other hand still intact, the man drank the health potion until the last bottle ran out.

“It’s useless. Health potions won’t be able to treat the wounds you receive. You will die soon.” Hiro clearly ignored the man’s frightened face.

[1 enemy has been defeated]

Hiro walked over to the one remaining enemy. The man definitely sought forgiveness from Hiro because he really wanted to live. He even threw away the dagger he carried quite far away in an attempt to convince Hiro.

“Hiro, he has given up,” Liberty said from a distance. Hiro looked at her, then smiled.

“I know, Libe. But this game doesn’t want to know. Only death they can count.” Hiro made the man in front of him immediately scream hysterically and tried to run away by crawling on the sand.

Liberty bit her lip. However, she also knew that Hiro was telling the truth.

“Close your eyes, Libe. You don’t need to see it,” Hiro said, and Liberty obeyed the man’s order.

Splatt!

Hiro stabbed his sword right into the back of the player who was trying to run from him. He directly aimed for the man’s heart so that it could be counted as fatal damage. The man died right away without being absorbed in the pain like his comrade experienced.

Ding!

[Your party has won the game]

[The exit door will appear]

Zing!

Liberty immediately ran over to Hiro when a loud thud came from the ceiling of the place. The very dark ceiling seemed to shift and then an iron staircase appeared from above their head. It landed right in front of Hiro.

“Let’s go!” Hiro said, then grabbed Liberty’s hand and pulled her running up the stairs. He was worried that the stairs also had a limited time. There was nothing wrong with being careful.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hiro continued to run. Even though it was dark, each stairs had very minimal white lighting, so it could only show the location of the stairs without showing what was flanking the two of them.

After climbing the stairs for more than five minutes without stopping, finally there were no more stairs in that place, and Hiro and Liberty arrived in another room of the haunted house.

“I thought we were going out… Hahah,” Liberty tried to catch her breath.

Hiro inspected the room very carefully, not wanting to fall into a trap with the same pattern. He continued to hold Liberty’s hand so he wouldn’t part with her again because of a secret trap. Liberty didn’t understand that, she just thought that Hiro’s attitude had suddenly turned very cute. The girl’s cheeks turned red again.

There was nothing strange in the room. It seemed to function like a regular check point. Hiro walked through the only door on the wall of the room. And when he entered it, he fell silent again.

The next room was rectangular, with a neat black and white chessboard-like floor. Another wall in front of Hiro had two doors in black and white. They were exactly the same colour as the floor.

“What now, Hiro?” Liberty asked while peeking over Hiro’s back. The empty room gave off a strange feeling. It made her body a little tense. The girl was a little traumatized by the previous incident.

It was strange because there was nothing he could find in the room. Hiro stepped on the white wooden floor. Liberty was about to follow in his footsteps, but when the girl’s feet were about to touch the black wooden floor, Hiro immediately pulled her quickly so that both of them landed on the same white floor.

“Why, Hiro? You startled me!”

Ding!
