Chapter 312 Have Faith In Him

Kimmy suddenly felt goosebumps as the air inside the room got chilly and her heart unexpectedly shuddered. She became restless for no reason, so she grabbed her mobile phone to check on Cain again.

His mobile phone just kept ringing, which made Kimmy's heart pound harder.

"What is going on? Why are you not answering the phone?" Kimmy whispered. She was getting worried so she tried to Call Cain again and after just a long ringing, finally, it was answered.

"Hello, Cain?" Kimmy almost gasped.

"I'm sorry ma'am but the owner of this mobile phone had an accident," a man spoke from another line.

Kimmy's face paled as she whispered, "where is he now? How is he? I'm coming there… Where is he now?"

Her voice was calm but her body was trembling all over while she inwardly said a prayer to save her Cain.

"We're on our way to Lewis Hospital. We're in the ambulance and the patient looks…"

Kimmy did not wait and hung up the phone in that instant. Her movements were fast as she put on her clothes, grabbed the car's keys, and rushed out of the house.

Her hands were trembling, and she knew she would not be able to drive properly in her current state. She called the driver and instructed him to drive to Lewis Hospital as fast as possible. While she was inside the car, Kimmy called her mother. She could not help but sob though she tried her best to calm herself.

"Mom! Cain got into an accident… I didn't know... what to do. Please… go to Lewis Hospital Mom… I need you there," Kimmy begged her mother in between her sobs. She didn't know if she could handle it alone if something grave would happen to Cain.

Meanwhile, Leila was utterly astounded hearing the bad news from Kimmy. She heard her daughter desperately asking for her support for the first time.

Though she was also in a state of shock, Leila tried to talk calmly, comforting her daughter. "Okay. I will go there, my daughter. Stay strong. Everything will be fine. Nothing bad is going to happen to Cain."

Leila also didn't waste time as she left the palace to follow Kimmy. She needed her mother at this moment so she had to be there with her.

She asked Kimmy what happened to Cain but even her daughter didn't know the full details of the accident yet. They decided not to tell this to Cain's father as they were afraid that Daniel's weak heart would not be able to handle this bad news.

Kimmy and Leila would see how serious Cain's condition was first before they would tell this to Daniel. They didn't want Cain's father to collapse and get sick because of this incident.

After twenty minutes, Kimmy finally reached the Lewis Hospital, where Cain was brought. When the car stopped in front of the building, Kimmy rushed out. She even stumbled several times as she dashed inside the emergency room, searching for Cain.

"Where is Cain?" She immediately asked the first nurse she bumped into the Emergency Room.

"Dr. Cain is currently in the operating room right now, Ma'am." The nurse responded, helping Kimmy to steady her footings. Her body was trembling. Her lips were pale. She looked like she was about to faint at any moment. She even had difficulty breathing.

"What happened to him?" She asked them desperately.

That was the time an officer came over to approach Kimmy. He was one of the policemen who responded to the accident's site.

"Are you the guardian of Dr. Cain Lewis?" The officer asked Kimmy while introducing himself by showing his ID to her.

"Yes, I am… his fiancé. How did this happen to him?" Kimmy asked the officer with her trembling voice. Her eyes burned with tears.

The officer finally recognized Kimmy as a member of the royal family. He spoke to her with politeness, explaining to her what had happened to Cain.

"Your highness, according to the bystanders who witnessed the incident, Dr. Cain tried to avoid hitting the ten-year-old child who suddenly crossed the street. If not for his quick reaction, the child would not survive the hit. Luckily, the child is safe. But Dr. Cain's car hit the post. He was unconscious when the emergency responder arrived. His head was bleeding a lot."

Kimmy gasped, covering her mouth with eyes filled with anxiety. She was so worried about Cain. She felt like every ounce of her energy was drained, knowing Cain got severely injured.

"Please, save him! Save him!" She held the nurse's shoulders, shaking her as she begged non-stop.

"Please calm down, Ma'am. Our doctors will do their best to save Dr. Cain."

The officer and the nurse guided Kimmy to the waiting area of the Operating Room where Cain was currently receiving treatment.

Kimmy's heart was slowly breaking every passing second. She kept pacing back and forth, looking at the closed door of the Operating Room. She was silently praying for Cain's safety.

It did not take long when Leila also arrived at the hospital. She immediately dashed in Kimmy's direction.

"Kimmy!" She called her out, looking at her daughter worriedly. Kimmy didn't look good. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying.

Meanwhile, when Kimmy saw her mother, she eased up a little. She was no longer alone. She hugged her as soon as Leila reached her spot. She burst out once more, crying in her mother's arms.

"Mother! I'm so scared. I can't lose Cain! Not now… everything between us is getting better. We have already fixed our issues before. Not now… that we already love each other… Mom… I'm really scared…"

"Shhhhh… don't think negatively, Kimmy. Cain will survive this. He loves you, so he will not leave you alone. He is a strong man." Leila softly said, consoling her daughter while rubbing her back.

"Mom! What if this is my Karma for what I have done to him in the past? Cain is so important to me now. I can't lose him."

"Of course, you won't lose him, my dear. Just have faith in him."
