At Derhan Palace.
Leila decided to stay at the palace for a few more days to be with her brother and assist Gavin and Brione with simple things she could do as part of the royal family.
She shook her head when Kimmy informed her that she had some appointments, so she wouldn't be able to join her today as well.
"That brat, don't tell me she will sleep in her apartment again this time?" she scoffed, reading Kimmy's message that she would have dinner outside instead. She immediately replied and told her to sleep in the palace rather so they could both assist with Brione.
She walked inside the dining area and saw everyone already gathered for dinner.
"Where is Kimmy, Aunty?" Brione asked.
"She said she had an appointment outside. She would eat dinner outside," Leila informed.
Her eyes darted at her brother Lucas, and her eyebrows lifted as she questioned, "why are you looking like that, brother? You looked so amused, and why is that?"
Lucas, with a grin, said, "let Kimmy for now. Didn't you see that she's in a tug of war thing? Two men seemed to be fighting head to head for her when we saw her yesterday on the balcony. I'm sure she will be going out more often these days, so let her enjoy her time. She just came back, and let's not make her work this instant for the royal family."
"But she should help here instead!" Leila snorted. She felt bad that everyone was busy while Kimmy was going out freely, like someone who did not care about the royal family.
Brione smiled. She understood the conversation of the elders. She and Gavin knew what Kimmy was going through. Kimmy must have been torn between two lovers from her past and future.
"Aunty, Father is right. Let Kimmy have her time to enjoy. You are helping more than enough, aunty. All of us here… Let Kimmy handle her private matters first, and I'm sure she'll come around." Brione seconded.
Leila could only sigh. She was glad that Gavin found a very reasonable and understanding wife like Brione. She looked at the couple and whispered, "thank you."
"But I'm curious, sister. Who do you pick for Kimmy?" Lucas asked bluntly.
Leila had a meaningful smile as she said, "you knew I will always pick my candidate no matter what. But I will respect whoever Kimmy chooses as a partner since it's her decision to make. I can only hope that she's more mature now to be responsible for her actions."
Assistant Sean was eating together with the royal family as always, and he could not help but feel pity for Princess Leila. He knew her condition with her husband. Her brother Lucas was monitoring her through him, but Leila asked him a favor not to burden Lucas with her family problems, so he did not report the bad things Leila's husband was doing.
Leila was a strong woman, but Sean was worried about how long she planned to hold it in. Brione's mobile phone rang, and it was Berry. She excused herself to others and answered it on her seat since it was only Berry who would probably inform her that Mitch and she were at their hotel already.
Berry and Mitch extended their stay to tour more in the country, and both insisted on transferring to the hotel instead so they could freely roam around. Brione assigned Will to accompany and assist them if she wouldn't be available to join the two.
"Are you sure it's Kimmy?" Brione said, so all eyes went on her.
"Alright, I will look into it. Yeah, you two enjoy, and I will join and accompany you guys whenever I can," Brione added before he said goodbye and ended the call.
"What happened?" Gavin was the one who asked.
Brione, with an awkward smile, looked at Leila and said, "Kimmy's photos and videos with Cain are trending online."
"What?" Leila burst. She purposely ignored some messages and called a while ago since she was in the mood to answer, thinking it was nothing but all about Duncan. Could it be that some of those calls and messages were about her daughter Kimmy?
Sean immediately grabbed his tablet and then saw it. He first showed it to Lucas, who handed it next to Leila.
"I guess you will throw a party soon, sister," Lucas teased with a grin.
"Oh my God! Are they really Kimmy and Cain? Oh goodness, those two! Why are they so intimate in public?!" Leila beamed in disbelief. It was not the first time she saw those two intimate, but she thought they would not do it in public places!
"Do you want me to stop the leak of the photos and videos, Princess Leila?" Sean immediately asked.
Leila turned at him with snapped eyebrows as she scoffed, "Why would you do that?! Let the media and netizens feast on them… The scandalous, the better!"
Lucas burst out in a fit of laughter as he turned to Sean and said, "you should ask the media to concentrate on this scoop instead, like making sure those two would end up together by all means… I guess that's what our Princess Leila wants, Sean."
Brione and Gavin chuckled too. Lucas sighed in relief. Everything was flowing smoothly, and he and the family were hoping that he could hear good news soon too about him being a grandfather! He was glad that in times like these, they could all smile and laugh together.
"Who knows, we could have a double wedding ceremony this month!" Gavin commented.
Leila narrowed her eyes on her nephew and said, "hmm! Don't jinx it, Gavin. Let those two enjoy first and build a strong foundation in their relationship. Ah, I can wait for the wedding bells as long as my daughter will no longer run away from them. They both could have their time together as long as they want."
Gavin chuckled and said, "got it, aunty."
"Ah, this is good news! I must drink and celebrate!" Leila burst.
"Let's all celebrate!" Lucas seconded and proposed a cheer for her sister, whose smiles almost reached her ears!
