-UNEDITED-

The following day, it was Cain who woke up early. It was a fine morning, and he felt so blissful to wake up like that with Kimmy in his embrace. He gently moved, making sure he would not wake up Kimmy as he got up from bed. Then he gave her a loving peck on her lips before he left the room to prepare something for Kimmy's breakfast.

He finished cooking and grabbed a tray so he could serve it to Kimmy in bed. He looked at the wall clock, and it was past nine in the morning already.

Then it came to him that Kimmy would meet Harry at lunch, and his face dimmed. His sweet morning suddenly became sour. At the back of his head, how he hoped Kimmy woke up late, like lunch or even later, so she would end up not showing to Harry in time. He shook his head at his childish thought.

Cain grabbed the tray of breakfast he prepared for Kimmy and walked back to the bedroom with several sighs. The sun was shining brightly, and Kimmy was still in a deep sleep. He put the tray on the table, then he walked to the bed and sat on the side while he stared at Kimmy.

He wouldn't want to see her go, so Cain decided to just leave a note for her on the table and prepared himself to go out and report to the hospital.

He gave Kimmy a quick kiss on her lips before he went out of his penthouse. He was in his car already when he received a call from Kimmy's mother.

"Can we meet and have some coffee, Cain?"

"Sure, Aunty," Cain answered.

"I'm here at the Derhan Palace. How about we have coffee here?"

"I will be there in ten minutes, Aunty," Cain answered, and Aunt Leila ended the call.

He heaved a long sigh because he knew why Kimmy's mother wanted to have coffee with him. Last night, Kimmy forgot to call her mother, and he was the one who answered Kimmy's mobile phone when Aunt Leila was calling.

He told her that he and Kimmy had overtime at work but reassured her that he had dropped Kimmy off at her apartment. He wanted Kimmy's mother to know about Kimmy and his relationship, but he had not talked to Kimmy yet about it. Yet, he was sure Kimmy would want their relationship in secret. But he was hoping he was wrong.

Cain arrived in less than ten minutes and met Aunt Leila at the coffeehouse inside the palace. He sat in front of her.

"Macchiato, right?" Leila confirmed, and Cain nodded, so Leila ordered it.

"Cain, I will get straight to the point. It's about Kimmy and you. I don't know what exactly is going on. You see, I am afraid to ask Kimmy since I've been controlling myself not to meddle too much in her affairs unless she asks me to. I don't want her to run away from me like before…" Leila started.

"I understand what you mean, Aunty," Cain answered with a reassuring smile.

"I am worried, Cain. I don't want to meddle, but it's natural for me to get worried and know if Kimmy is still okay as her mother. You two… seem to be having a mutual understanding, but then I also feel something about Harry. The man also likes my daughter, and Kimmy looks confused…"

"What I want to know about is your intention to Kimmy? I know she hurt you before, and your family was greatly affected, especially your father. But I am hoping and rooting for you still, Cain though I know it's still Kimmy's decision in the end, and I will just support her on her decisions."

Cain cleared his throat and said, "I have a genuine intention for Kimberly Aunty. It never changed. I am willing to take full responsibility for her because I love her. I wanted to marry her, but Kimberly needed some time to decide on things. I don't want to force her into anything, so I am willing to wait till she finally realizes it is me she wants to be with…"

"Aunty, would you mind if I say some words from a psychiatrist's perspective regarding Kimmy?" Cain added, seeing the opportunity to discuss where Kimmy was coming from with Kimmy's mother and why she had a lot of hesitation and indecisiveness.

"Yes, please, Cain, tell me," Leila urged. She wanted to understand her daughter more, so it was nice that Cain could tell her things about what he observed on Kimmy while they were together.

"Kimberly developed a trauma because she was scared to experience failure in a relationship. She's always confused because of those fears… She…" Cain could not continue for the fear that he could say something that might be too much for Aunt Leila to hear.

Leila gulped, Cain did not finish her words, but she could already tell what Cain was about to say.

"Kimmy grew up witnessing how messy my marriage relationship with her father was. She wanted me to let her father go and live a new life, focusing on myself and the things that could make me happy. But… I can't let go of her father…" Leila said with a cracked voice. She controlled her emotion since she did not want Cain to see her shed tears.

Leila stared at Cain and said, "Please, Cain don't abandon my daughter no matter what happens. She needs someone like you in her life. I know my daughter, and I can feel that she has feelings for you. Please be more patient, and I'm sure she will gain courage and overcome her fears for you. I know it's a very selfish request, but please..."

"Aunty, I understand. Please don't worry too much because I am willing to wait for Kimberly no matter how long it takes…" Cain stated.

Leila nodded and, with a satisfying smile, whispered, "thank you Cain."

The two shared a productive conversation for some time before Leila left first since she had another appointment.

Cain stayed in his seat for some time since Aunt Leila insisted not to walk her out. He was in deep thought when Will suddenly sat opposite her.

"Hey, Doc, a penny for your thoughts?" Will said with a grin while he waved his hand in front of Cain.

"Why are you here? Didn't His Majesty need you?" Cain asked with a creased forehead.

"Ah, I'm honestly so tired. Gavin… I mean the King," Will inwardly cursed as he looked around and heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that there was no one sitting on the tables near where he and Cain sat.

"His Highness is such a busy man, and I'm grateful that The Queen gave me spare days to relax while I accompany her friends around," Will said with a grin.

"Right, her two friends, right?"

"Yes, Berry and Mitch. Do you want to come or are you going to work? By the way, where's Princess Kimmy? Aren't you two always together?" Will asked.

"Yeah, it's her day-off today since she will meet a friend." Cain casually answered while he finished drinking his coffee. He wondered if Kimmy was already awake, but he bet she wasn't since there was still no text message from her.

"Are you coming, huh? Common, it will be fun… I plan to take them to beautiful spots here, like the theme parks! You look weary, so how about you just come with me right now." Will insisted, and he even pulled Cain from his chair.

Cain was not in the mood to work anyway, so he decided to go to Will.

"Hello, handsome doctor!" Berry enthusiastically greeted him, and Mitch shyly smiled at him.

"I brought a companion, so I hope you guys won't mind. Our royal doctor here will be our tour guide, guys," Will commented with a grin.

He was lucky to see Cain at the coffee shop. He felt a bit awkward to tour the two women alone, but he could not find someone who could come with them since everyone was so busy!

"Oh nice, two handsome men, touring us. Although Mitch here will prefer to have her boyfriend, Kevin to…" Berry stopped when she felt Mitch elbowed her side.

"Yeah, Kevin needed to stay with The King, especially now, but I'm sure Kevin will follow later as promised," Will assured as he escorted the two ladies outside where their service vehicle was.

Cain followed behind. He heaved a long deep sigh. His mind was busy thinking about where Kimmy and Harry would meet and where they planned to go afterward. He wondered how long he would last in controlling himself not to ask Kimmy where she was and ended up stalking her and taking her away.

Inside the service vehicle, Cain's mobile phone beeped, and he immediately opened it. It was Kimmy. She was already awake.

[Thank you for breakfast. I will go before lunch. See you later…]

'See me later.. What time is later?' he mused. Hopefully, that later is only after lunch!
