While everyone was busy with work and things going on with the country, Kimmy took her time to have a day off and spend it with her mother. She realized that Cain was right. She should check on her mother and spend time with her after being gone for a long time.

She was inside the car, thinking of ways she could avoid Cain.

'Why would you avoid him?! It's not like you are committing a mistake! Why are you feeling shy when he is so shameless? You're so affected! You can always reject him!'

Yeah, she could reject his advances, but she was doing nothing because she could not stop her body from reacting positively on its own. She could not trust her body at all. She was still doubtful of Cain's intention. She wronged him and his family, so what if it was some revenge where he would only make her fall for him then later do the same thing on her, leaving her out of the blue afterward..

"I'm sure aunt Leila is delighted knowing you will have lunch home," Cain commented.

"Yeah, she's even more thrilled knowing you're coming with me," Kimmy mumbled as she kept her face turned sideways at the window, away from Cain's direction.

Cain noticed how Kimmy was acting strange, more like avoiding eye contact with him. He took it as another good sign, assuming Kimmy was getting affected by his advances. If Kimmy disliked it, she would say it because that was how she was. She was the transparent type and someone who struggled in hiding her emotions.

"Then the feeling is very mutual. I'm excited to visit your home since the last time I've been there; you are sick, so I left that instant too," Cain said, making Kimmy coughed suddenly.

She recalled it, and she was not sick at that time but refused to see Cain; however, her mother was good in making different excuses for the hope that she would give in at the end. But she didn't and ran away instead.

Cain did not intentionally mention that. It was just a slip on his tongue.

"Why? Are you alright?" Cain asked.

Kimmy crumpled her face because she suspected Cain intentionally mentioned that, so she defended, "Okay, you do know that it's just an alibi my mom did. I'm at home and refuse to see you that time."

"Yeah, I figured it out late, or maybe I'm just too dense to notice that you disagree with marrying me that time. But still… I will prefer that you tell that straight to my face in person, and I guess things will be not so complicated and no one."

Cain paused. He did not want to bring back the past. He was about to change the topic when Kimmy said, "You're right. I was so immature at that time and did not think about other people. I am so selfish. If I did that as you said, Uncle Daniel wouldn't be like how he is right now."

"That's not what I mean," Cain whispered.

Kimmy scoffed.

Cain no longer responded since whatever he said, Kimmy would only think of the same thing as what she said.

'She was right anyway,' he mused, but that was not what was in his mind at all. If she said it to his face that time, they could talk about it and agree with what she wanted. Then he could wait for her whenever she was ready. Yet she ran away a day before the wedding, and their family faced colossal humiliation, not to mention what happened to his father.

Both of them sighed. Kimmy could only bite her inner cheek as the guilt surged in. Maybe she was being punished right now by having this kind of mixed emotion towards Cain.

"I unintentionally brought the past. I recalled I told you that let bygones be bygones. I'm sorry about this. I will be more mindful of my words next time," Cain suddenly said, making Kimmy feel more uneasy.

'Why is he apologizing now that he just said the fact?' she thought. Cain was so nice that she suddenly realized that she preferred him as a bully. The super nice Cain was more dangerous in her eyes. He was like a professional predator eyeing a bullseye on his prey.

Kimmy wondered how long she could keep up with her emotions. She would not admit to it, or else she would lose in whatever game Cain was in store at this moment.

There was only silence until they reached Kimmy's ancestral home because Kimmy no longer responded to Cain after he apologized.

Kimmy heaved a long sigh as they entered the big gate of their mansion. It had been a while, and she could tell that there had been changes since she last saw their estate, especially the landscaping.

"I guess she listened to me," she whispered, pertaining to how her mother kept a simple and elegant style with a modern touch on the overall look of the estate, like how she suggested before. Her mother loved things so extravagant that sometimes it would end up looking too much to the eyes.

"You are right. Aunt Leila has made a lot of changes since you left. I hear she made changes in the interior design of the house as well," Cain commented as he stopped the car at the parking area.

Kimmy moved to remove her seatbelt quickly, but Cain was fast. He did not go out in his car first but just leaned towards her to unbuckle her seatbelt.

Kimmy unconsciously covered her lips with her hand, making Cain laugh.

"You're quite fast, but I have no intention of kissing you here since you're afraid of your mom bugging you. She might see me taking advantage of you and ask me to take responsibility," Cain commented.

Kimmy's eyes widened in disbelief. She removed her hand from covering her lips and questioned, "why? You're not willing to take responsibility?!"

Noah did not expect Kimmy to ask that. On the other hand, Kimmy covered her mouth again, realizing what she just asked.

"Oh, don't get me wrong. It's not like I will demand you to take responsibility. I will not do that!"

"And what will you do if I am willing to take responsibility, Kimberly?" Are you going to run away again?!"

Kimmy blinked her eyes, making sure she was not wrong with what she was seeing. Cain had a dark expression, and it was the first time she saw him with that look. It was so frightening that she could only gulp.

"What do you want?" Kimmy murmured, almost a gasp.

Cain's expression toned down, and his eyes went down Kimmy's parted lips.

'What does he want now?' Kimmy mused as her heart palpitated so fast, drumming so hard inside her chest. Cain's eyes were staring intently on her lips. And before she knew it, Cain crushed her lips while he murmured, "I want this!"

'He only wants my lips?!' Kimmy could not voice out because she felt like putty under Cain's spell. Oh, how she hated it! The fact that she could not resist him because his lips and kisses felt so damn good that she just wanted to enjoy it as long as she could.

The two almost forgot where they were as they engaged in a heated and passionate kiss. The undeniable tension between them was getting so strong, and it was hard to pull away from the magnetic attraction of their lips.

"Tell me to stop, and I will," Cain managed to mutter on Kimmy's lips before he gently sucked her lower lip and slowly slid back his tongue inside of her mouth.

Kimmy only answered him with a soft moan as she warmly accepted his tongue and danced with its movement with her tongue.

Meanwhile, inside the house, Leila excitedly walked to the entrance door for the parking area with her butler and some servant to greet Cain and Kimmy. As soon as it reached her, Cain and Kimmy arrived, and the car drove directly to the parking area.

They waited at the entrance door from the parking area where Kimmy and Cain were supposed to enter. Minutes passed, so Leila looked at one of the servants and instructed, "Go check if there's some problem. How come they are not here yet?"

The servant quickly followed and left, but she returned fast, panting from running.

"What's wrong?" Leila asked.

"Ahm, they are still inside the car, Your Highness. I mean, the engine is still on. I just had a quick peek from the front and… Uhmm," the servant said, stuttering. She looked like she wanted to say more but held back.

"Still inside? Didn't they arrive minutes ago? Didn't you check if there's some problem?"

"I did, Your Highness, but…."

"But what?!"

"I think uhm I saw them.."

"Saw them what? Goodness! Speak up and tell me!" Leila impatiently asked.

"Kiss… Your Highness. They are kissing Your Highness."

Leila's eyes brightened more than the rays of the sun. Her smile almost reached her ears as she quickly said, "all of you go back inside. Let's wait for them inside and tell others not to go to the parking area for an hour!"
