"Is this the only thing you found about Duncan? We need his complete records!" Luo grunted as she scanned the reports sent to her from Derhan Palace.
She grabbed her phone to call Gavin but hesitated when she recalled that he would be in a press conference. She gave up on that idea when she realized that today would be a busy day for him. Her face crumpled in annoyance and exhaled loudly.
"Mommy what's wrong?" her son Calvin asked in his milky voice. He was sitting beside her in the living room and watching his favorite cartoon. He saw his mother's frustrated look and got worried.
Luo smiled at him and gently stroked his soft hair. Calvin looked exactly like his father Noah and he was so cute. He would soon turn four years old.
"Nothing is wrong Cal…" she said smiling.
Calvin narrowed his eyes at her as if reading her face carefully before he commented, "I saw you crumpling your face and sigh tiredly. Dad told me to look after you and make sure you won't get stressed while working at home. Dad said it won't be good for my sibling growing inside you if mama is stressed about work."
Luo chuckled and carried him to her lap and brushed his nose using hers finding him adorable.,
"So tell me my little Calvin, are you watching me or the TV huh?"
Calvin smiled at her and said, "I'm not really watching you mommy… I'm just observing you. I need to report everything to dad later so I need to know what you did."
Luo laughed and patted her son's head as she mumbled, "Ah you listen well to your father… Good job dear. How about you enjoy watching your cartoons and let mama work? I promise I won't stress myself out and make sure that your sibling inside my tummy is okay too alright? Calvin baby, do you want to have a brother or a sister?"
Calvin snapped his brows and put his finger on his chin while he seriously thought about Luo's question.
Luo chuckled and could not help pinching his cheeks while she said, "What? Still undecided?"
"I want a brother but I also want a sister…" Calvin murmured excitedly.
Luo smiled brightly and gave him a hug, kissing him on his forehead she said, "Oh, then we will definitely give you a brother and a sister my love. But we will do it one at a time. For now, we need to wait a few months for your sibling to grow before we know if it's a boy or a girl. ."
"Alright, mommy. Ah, let me go now… I can't breathe…" Calvin complained while struggling in her arms so Luo quickly released him. Calvin who found his freedom sat beside her and continued watching his cartoon show.
She quietly sighed as she analyzed? the slightest details about Duncan in hopes of finding something about him. She found some things like he was someone who used his left hand to write…
She even had his last medical records. But what she really needed was Duncan's DNA sample or any of his biometrics, but it was impossible to find since the technology during those years was not as advanced as it is now. Even retrieving medical records from those times was hard but fortunately Gavin's father somehow managed to get some important details which she could still use.
She grabbed her tablet and watched the press conference that was broadcasted live. She was glad that Gavin was finally able to come out and reveal his real identity to the world.
"I hope everything goes well," Luo whispered. Gavin had a lot going on right now, especially after becoming the new King of Country B. It was sad to learn that the citizens of that country had some doubts and reservations about him but it was also understandable since Gavin was someone new to them. She was confident that Gavin would prove himself to his people.
Shr expected that there would be a lot of different opinions regarding this but the good thing was that everyone here was rejoicing and cheering for Gavin as King.
'Focus Luo. I must make sure to lessen Gavin's load by eliminating this Duncan as soon as possible,' she thought before placing the tablet aside and going back to previous documents she was reading to double-check if there was something she might have missed.
After a few minutes, Luo looked at Clavin and asked, "Cal, do you want to eat some snacks?"
Calvin looked at her and nodded with a toothy grin. Luo stood up and went to get some snacks from the kitchen both for herself and Calvin. She was in the kitchen when Calvin came rushing towards her and handed her the phone.
Luo gave him a questioning look to which Calvin said, "It's daddy."
"Oh, thank you my love…" Luo said and kissed his cheek before taking her phone from him.? She signalled Calvin to go back and wait for her in the living room.
"Yes baby?" Luo sweetly answered the call after making sure her son was watching his cartoons.
Noah chuckled and said, "Ah, I miss you baby…"
"I miss you more. Tell me, how did it go baby?" Luo asked with a beautiful smile on her face. Her husband was with Damiel to inform him about Gavin's identity before the press conference.
"Hmm, well he said he was worried for Gavin and that he never expected that the boy he raised would be of royal blood. I told him about the press conference so he is probably watching it now. I left him just before the press conference started. He was hoping Gavin would be the one to tell him about it…" Noah narrated.
Both of the couple sighed. Gavin was simply very busy plus he was not ready to talk to? Damiel after he found out about how his father Damiel instructed the psychiatrist to erase a particular event in his memory permanently.
"Yeah but Gavin is not ready to face him after that incident…" Luo answered.
"I honestly don't know how Gavin will handle all these things but I'm hoping that Uncle Damiel has a valid reason for doing what he did. I just can't… I mean it will be hard to accept if Uncle Damiel turned out to be someone whom we shouldn't trust…" Noah said.
"But at this point, we cannot trust anyone, baby…" Luo muttered.. Even she had her doubts and could feel that she was very close to putting all the things together.
